Dredgen Yor's Identity Revealed
New grimoire is out people are we have a new revelation. Not only that, but we were all wrong with our guesses!

EDIT: Guys, this isn't a class war thing so get that BS out of here. The Ghost Fragment is "Legends and Mysteries: Rezyl Azzir." The reasoning is this:
[spoiler]What we know about Yor is that he once went by a different name and was a guardian of great renown. He went to the Moon during a point in history when few guardians could and would even dare to. There something happened that corrupted them. He eventually took on the name Dredgen Yor and became the most notoriously corrupted and evil guardian. Due to her presence in the Thorn quest in Year 1 we know Xyor is somehow involved.
The past Rezyl Azzir cards reveal he was a Titan of great renown. This new card reveals at he also went to the Moon during the same age as Yor, which as I previously stated was a point in time where few guardians did so. There he met Xyor, who promised to break and corrupt his light.
No, this does not guarantee that Yor and Azzir are the same person. For them to be different indicduals would however require Xyor to have corrupted two different renowned guardians during a time period where few guardians were anywhere near the moon at all. It may be wrong, and I kind of hope I'm wrong, but Occam's Razor would say it is likely they are one in the same.[/spoiler]

1 RispondiAs far as I understand, Jaren Ward never missed a shot with his last word, and Dredgen Yor's ghost had already left him by the time the two faced each other. The grimoire card, "Ghost Fragment: The Last Word 3," says that Ward shot first. - [i][/i]"A familiar ring. "Last Word." Jaren's sidearm. His best friend. Then another. A single shot, an unmistakable echo calling through the night. Hushed, cutting. One shot, dark and infernal. Followed by silence." [i][/i] If Ward shot first, Yor should've died right there. Yet, Yor still had, "the last word." I propose that Dredgen Yor was a Sunsinger Warlock with Fireborn.

5 RisposteMaybe he's not any of the three classes? What if hes a hybrid class of all three. There's evidence that supports all three claims. All that's really known about him is that he gave in to the Darkness. That in itself stripped him of his light, which in my own opinion took away his abilities. I think he's just a human. No specific class at all. He was just a renegade nobleman who lost his way.

Last word Hawkmoon-not with anyone in particular but said to be a true gunslingers weapon Ace of spades Dredgen Yor's cloak is a hunter class items. Dredgen Yor's rose is a hunter artifact There is next to no evidence for Dredgen Yor being anything but a hunter

2 RisposteSo I've been trying to unpack this card, and it doesn't say how it ends. This card implies that he would've been fully corrupted in the Summoning Pits. Maybe he failed the trial and died? Granted that's a stretch, but it's fair to not automatically assumed he got a handcannon and turned into a bad guy.

2 RisposteHunter. Cloak and hunter artifact. It is far more likely he's a warlock then a titan and even then almost everything, besides the stupid grimoire picture, points to him being a hunter.

4 Risposte[spoiler] I will refer to the Titan mentioned above as "titan dude" because his name is just to much[/spoiler] 1) Titan dude was not a guardian he was a "risen" which is the precursor to guardians. 2) Titan dude died (or MIA) early city age before twilight gap, this is important because twilight gap inspires shaxx to start the crucible and yor was renown for his crucible skills. 3) There are more Hunter related items referencing yor them any other class (the only other class that is referenced as yor is warlock with the grimoire card depicting a warlock and the action figure of a warlock coming with thorn) 4) Titans (in general) don't fall to the darkness as they're described as "strong willed" and "pillars of the city". 5) Titan dude might have succumbed to the darkness but that might mean that he just died, which also leads to the dead Titan in front of the temple of crota which could also be him. I've said my piece, I respect your opinion but mine won't change.

The writer of this story could give the actual answer to this and people would still tell them they're wrong, not saying lore delving is bad, just going in believing you have the most concrete answer is going to start an argument.

33 RisposteWell, it's probably actually Jaren Ward. Why else you The Last Word description include Dredgen Yor? Jaren gave Shin Malphur The Last Word, and went to the moon, turning The First Curse, his other hand cannon, into Thorn.

3 RisposteA good theory, but we know that he was at the very least a warlock from the thorn grimore cards themselves always using the same warlok background. [spoiler]you might think this is stylistic but also not that we know for a fact xin malphur and jaren ward were hunters and the last word cards all use the same hunter background.[/spoiler]

I'm js Bruh it wouldn't make much sense if he was a Titan with all this evidence pointing to him being a hunter Bruh. Nice argument tho but, he's a hunter playboi.

11 RisposteDredgen Yor is such a blatant ripoff of Darth Vader. Both were the greatest heroes of their era. Both fell to the Dark Side/Darkness. Both killed their closest friends from their "past" lives--Vader kills Obi Wan, Yor kills Jaren. Both embark on a murder spree to eradicate the Light side. Both are killed by a young man seeking revenge for the death of their mentor--Vader by Luke, Yor by Shin Malphur. The only difference is that Vader redeemed himself in the end and Yor died like a bitch. Yawn.

7 RisposteHa. ha. ha. New lore disproves your theory. More guardians were corrupted. Ever heard of Dredgen Vale? No? Go collect all the ghosts in crucible maps and read through them. You done? In the ghost fragment Cathedral of dusk a new guardian (not Dredgen Vale mind you) Has crafted another thorn and is giving it to another guardian to wield, saying that "this isn't like the stories you've heard of Yor, Vale has tamed it". Also I'm the ghost fragment The Cauldron it says that there are guardians wearing dark gear, playing with things they don't understand. This suggests that there aren't [i]two[/i] but and entire [i]legion[/i] of them. [spoiler]myth busted[/spoiler]
