It is about damned time! I hope they do this right though!
Full disclosure: I have my own raid team(s) to run the raid with and can raid virtually any time I want. I likely won't use the feature, especially if it is optional matchmaking.
With that stated, I am all for anything that helps remove barriers to accessing content. Sure, it will not be a perfect solution, but nothing in Destiny will ever be perfect. It is a feature that I am sure will work for some, and it may even get more veteran raiders performing the roll of Sherpa for less experienced groups.
Like and bump this post if you think Bungie is doing the right thing by considering matchmaking for raids!

Oh, thank God!
-
They said theyve been thinking about it alot. No where do they say 'yes! its coming!' because thats not the raid meta. With mechanics as complicated as a raid, no mic and randoms sounds like a recipe for disaster. Dont know why so many people want this, itd be useless and only harm the raid experience.
-
yeah, it's about time I can just hit up a raid in matchmaking with no mic, go suicide and wait for revival at next checkpoint x) fun times
-
No downsides to optional matchmaking at all, I'd advise making a few friends and go from there. I started with 1 friend on destiny and now have 7/8 good ones who all raid.
-
The only way raid matchmaking would work is if they dumbed raids down so that communication isn't necessary, which would be destroying the raids. No thank you.
-
9 RisposteTerrible idea. They aren't considering it
-
5 RisposteI hope so. i typically spend more time trying to find a damned FT than doing the actual raid!!
-
2 RisposteI really wouldn't mind it, especially if it was optional, the percentage of players that have completed the raid will definitely increase if they implement this.
-
It will never happen, just make friends like everyone else.
-
Hope so
-
Please...
-
If there is Raid matchmaking i will use it to grief other players so hard.
-
Awful. Terrible. Abysmal. Tragic.
-
All they have to do to make it work is add matchmaking filters and boom it's better then all those stupid websites. Plus it's not like people would be forced to do matchmaking, it would just help some solo players.
-
It's easy and unobtrusive. Put a Find Fireteam button under the Start button.
-
For Christ sake, NO
-
I think it would be good for crota end vog and kings fall once rise of iron comes out. But for the current raid I would say no.
-
I think they're going to make an in game lfg
-
Thanks but no thanks. I'll stick to the recruiting tab
-
This would give people who haven't raided yet the experience that all the try hards keep asking for. I'm all for it.
-
And they think LFG is bad......Good Luck with That!
-
1 RispondiIn the mean time they can add mm for the nightfall. They forgot to add it when they did so for the weekly heroic.
-
Sure. Let anyone who wants to walk right into that bushwhack and see what's up. Be sure to come back here and tell us how it went. I'll be over here teaching lemmings how to tango.
-
Im ok with people getting mm on vog. Just to see what a raid is. But not KF or wrath of the machine. It shouldnt impact the current path to max lvl.

AN IDEA TO POSSIBLY MAKE RAID MATCHMAKING WORK: Essentially, the game will detect if the player has a mic plugged in or not. If not, the Matchmaking option will not be available to select. If they do, the game will search for other matchmaking Guardians and shove them into a lobby for the raid, giving the six players time to communicate and organise. Once the team knows what they are doing, the Fireteam Leader (who can be easily reelected in accordance with the most experienced player) begins the session and the raid starts. Thoughts?

Modificato da Locker: 8/27/2016 3:59:00 PMLook if they do matchmaking and it gives the other 80% of destiny players an opportunity to try a raid then so be it. Make it an option at least. I personally won't use it and think it would be a nightmare. Destiny knows when a mic is connected now, if raid matchmaking requires a mic and checks that voice is active and all party members meet requirements it might be good for the community as a whole .
