I hate weapons testing in the crucible...

2 RisposteAt this point. I dont even care, me and a friend just boost them in classic rumble. Its just not worth the heart ache of trying to compete with even 3rd tier weapons in control or rift

Why even do it? I know the gunsmith can offer sweet loot on ranking up, but even without the crucible weapons you can get a rank every two weeks guaranteed.

I find it fun. As someone who takes weapons considered useless into crucible as is, it's nice to take complete trash for a spin. It really makes you think about your map positioning and tactics.

The test rocket is the best weapon in the game. Hands down.

Had a bit of an idea regarding the Gunsmith's test weapons that I think may be secretly genius, and let players be more directly involved in weapon balance. Suppose that every week on Armsday, you went to the Gunsmith and picked up 1-3 test weapons with no perks, just a required number of kills (Crucible kills count extra). Then...[i]suppose that the weapon remembers, or tracks [b]how[/b] you use it[/i]? It records how steady or wild your shots were, if you used it while mid-air, if you were precise or wasted ammo, if you liked to melee while/after shooting, etc. The test weapons [i]remember [b]YOUR[/b] playstyle[/i], and then when you return next Armsday, you get a weapon with perks that are more geared towards how you actually use weapons. You can even pick the foundry your weapon comes from, and if you're part of a faction (New Monarchy, for instance) you can choose to have your new weapon made in your faction's image. Never again will you feel like your Gunsmith rewards are complete trash (though they still need to be infused to be useful in endgame). Note: Ranking up in your chosen faction is still recommended, as you'll need a token from your faction, let's call it the "Executor's Favor", to turn a Gunsmith weapon into a faction weapon. You'll get 1 per week just from checking your postmaster, but can earn up to 5 per faction rank up, or as a random reward for exceptional Crucible performance.

I wouldn't mind having a crucible game mode where all players have to choose from the available test weapons for their loadout only. You could earn a little gunsmith and crucible rep. at the same time while still having normal crucible loot rewards.
