Been playing since 1977, Atari 2600 release and acquired the nick name "vgk".
It stands for video game knowledge. If anyone couldn't get past a stage, they ask me. I get them thru parts of the game they struggle at.
Owned every major system since, these days I play on Xbox one, own a ps4 as well, (daughters).
So, 45 years old and still game, help with all age groups and they help me as well. My age has slowed the reflexes a bit, but have yet to find anyone skilled enough to help get me to the lighthouse. The time will come, I'm sure.
So the question is to the older gamers, when did you start gaming? And have you made it to the lighthouse?
+: wow, so many gamers, what would our lives be without our games???

Early 80s, my dad bought home Pong one day. Nintendo, atari 2600 and 7200, mega drive, ps1, Xbox, ps2, 360, ps4. I've owned several at the same time (kids, a lot of away work).

Since 2007 or so. GameCube

Since about 1989. I was 8 and got a Sega Master System with built in Sonic the Hedgehog. Got really into games with the original PlayStation, PS2, XBox 360 and now PS4. Really waiting for a decent circuit racing game, Gran Turismo better be good, and cut out that AI catch up bullshit! Never been to the Lighthouse, think the best I've done is 7 wins with friends, just running bounties. One day....

Since 1997 when I was 4 on N64.

Modificato da Macguyver Bond: 8/2/2016 5:11:37 AMSince I was 4, played NES (friend's) and SNES (my first system). Cousin had a Sega Genesis, didn't play it much. We got a Playstation, then on a trip to Minnesota Dad picked up an N64 because weather cancelled our plans for two days and they went on a shopping spree for old movies and new video games. Thank goodness he did so I got to experience sleepover Smash Bros and Goldeneye nights. RIP Blockbuster lol. I missed most of the PS2/Gamecube era, played my friends Xbox or on PC for a few years. Bought myself a 360 and an Xbox of my own roughly 3 months apart, got back into console gaming along with PC eventually picked up a PS3 for exclusives. Now on PS4, left off pc gaming for the last year and a halfish. Four and a score years ago, I discovered Double Dragon and Super Mario. I still have nightmares about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Battletoads. I still remember asking my older cousin when I would get to fight the giant monkey on the Starfox gameover screen. I remember schooling my poor grandpa at NBA Jam showing how I could break the backboard glass with a halfcourt dunk. Countless nights of Remote Mines or Throwing Knives in Goldeneye and WCW vs NWO wrestling. Hulk Hogan one punch bloodying people, flipping around like a lunatic with Ultimo Dragon and Rey Mysterio Jr (who we thought was supposed to be Spiderman). Of course my one true love were the Star Wars Fighter games: X-Wing, TIE-Fighter, X-wing vs TIE-Fighter, X-wing Alliance, Rogue Squadron. I probably logged enough hours in the cockpit to be certified for the real thing if it existed (and I didn't go from farsighted to painfully near-sighted in the span of 2 years prior) in X-Wing Alliance alone. Couldn't tell you how many times I made the Trench Run or Death Star 2 run, how many AT-AT Walkers I tied up. It's not the best but the fighter battles in Battlefront are just close enough to get a bit of that feeling back and I still get top 3 of the team leaderboard most of the time, even without touching the hero ships. Feels good. Here's hoping for a future Destiny title to include space battles, then I can really shine. Lighthouse I did it once, last weekend of year one just to be able to say I did it and to see for myself the area, with two Aussie buddies. I started up Baba O'riley-The Who as we loaded into Mercury's near space. After that I'm fairly satisfied. I've tried helping other friends but almost every time I've bothered we've run across some shitty connections not to mention two specific certain instances of cheating so I've chosen not to subject myself to that any more.

Modificato da Refocillation: 8/2/2016 2:40:48 AMHmm..I've been playing games since I was little. Maybe like, 14 years i think o: Not 14 years old, but been playing for 14 years.

Same, since the 2600. Damn we're old, lol
-
Same as you Atari 2600. I still have not been to the light house either.

Since '87. I played games on my trs-80 using the cassette deck. Later we had an Atari 2800, and I would get down with pitfall, asteroids and pole position. From there I went to Sega Genesis. I spent my first paycheck ever on a PS1. I also had a Dreamcast (skies of Arcadia, shenmue 😍)I went into the service and got myself a PS2, but then picked up an Xbox after playing halo down at the rec center. Finally, ended up with a 360 and now an X1.

Since Ps2 and original Xbox
