Been playing since 1977, Atari 2600 release and acquired the nick name "vgk".
It stands for video game knowledge. If anyone couldn't get past a stage, they ask me. I get them thru parts of the game they struggle at.
Owned every major system since, these days I play on Xbox one, own a ps4 as well, (daughters).
So, 45 years old and still game, help with all age groups and they help me as well. My age has slowed the reflexes a bit, but have yet to find anyone skilled enough to help get me to the lighthouse. The time will come, I'm sure.
So the question is to the older gamers, when did you start gaming? And have you made it to the lighthouse?
+: wow, so many gamers, what would our lives be without our games???

I'm Pong generation.

1980 - arcade classics like Night Driver and Asteroids, through to Tempest, Time Pilot, Pac Man etc. and on into 'modern' gaming. First console gaming on a Magnavox Odyssey, and on to Atari 2600 and Intellivision. First computer gaming on a Texas Instruments (don't know model), and a lot of Commodore 64. Since then - Amiga, PC, Atari Lynx, Gameboy, 3DS, PlayStation 1, 2, 3, 4, PSP, PS Vita, and practically every system I missed via emulation (especially like the Neo-Geo back catalogue and all the old arcade games that got ported to PSP). Good times. I haven't enjoyed PvP gaming since Quake III and Counter Strike, so I won't be hitting the lighthouse any time.

Since I was old enough to sit up on my own. 2000, yes, I know. I have been flawless only once. I started out with a NES and moved up to a N64 to play Mario Kart and Smash Bros.

Been playing since I was like 1-2 yrs old. My family was and still is a gaming family, so I always had to be playing a game. Sonic was my outlet.

4 Risposte44 years. And I was in HS then lol. Yes, I'm old. I can still remember how jealous the other kids were of my custom Pong controller.

Modificato da GuillesDNeyes: 8/3/2016 3:27:43 AMEarly 80's I remember playing some Atari games with family. Also remember laughing at how terrible ET was and other licensed games like empire strikes back :p I mainly came on board with nes, that was my prime time. First game I played was kid icarus, that was my favorite for a while till I got my own console years later. Then my first game purchased was castlevania 2 after renting it many times of course. I rented every game possible then. Took a break from games for a few years during the ps1 era to focus on music. Came back with a vengeance though & pulled about $400 cash outta the bank to buy one. Never looked back ever since. Even tho I was diagnosed with ms & relapses cause me to lose part of my vision or feeling in my hands I still play, even struggling through iron banner :p can never stop my game habit! Keep all my consoles & games since the nes & bust them all out at the start of every next gen release to celebrate :) Keep on gamin till I die! Even then I'll be buried with a controller in my hand... seriously its in my will :p Oh yeah, went to the lighthouse y1 with a very skilled friend of mine. Not really into it anymore tho, its for the more hardcore pvper's now, not my thing.

8 RisposteAll I've ever cared about was video games. So maybe I don't know what the Civil War was, or who invented the helicopter (even though I own one), but I did beat The Legend of Zelda before I could walk.
-
I honestly don't remember a period of my life without video games.
-
Too long, 35 year's. I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
