Is Trials only for the elite now ?
After two runs at the weekend just to do bounties I find that Trials is no fun at all for the lower end of the PVP skill level. Occasionally a good close game will be had but otherwise its me getting stomped or occasionally stomping some poor other players.
I am a reasonable 6x6 PVP player and not a very good 3x3 PVP player and I was the top on our team which may give an indication of our skill level.
I have noticed recently that the first 1, 2 or 3 games of the ticket are the ones that are way and above the worst rounds for us getting stomped on. I am trying to understand why should that be ? It used to be rounds 5 & 6 but now its the early rounds.
It seems to be this way every time I run, are we lower levels not supposed to be playing ? why would Bungie create bounties that are not particularly hard to achieve if we were not supposed to play ?
Am I just unlucky and seem to catch teams full of scarabs and flawless in the first three rounds who decimate us 5 & 0 in thirty seconds or is it the same for others ?
What's your thoughts fellow bounty hunters?
Don't get me wrong I am not complaining about getting beat, just don't understand the system that puts people who have gone flawless numerous times against those that never have in their first game.
(I'd love to get to the lighthouse just for the grimoire but I think I am resigned to never doing it)

Playing with a couple of guys who are just bounty hunting and pretty low ELO.
First game on first character, 5% chance to win lol
Carried on like that for 3 games at least, second game 2% chance to win, third game 8%
Its not easy trying to get good :)

3 RisposteLast night I was playing trials won our first game put us up to 3 wins with boons applied, then the 2nd game (for our 4th win) we came up against a guy ranked 50th in the world doing a double carry we couldn't get close to him at all he'd pick you off with his sniper before you could even think about scoping and his last word skills were insane, we lost but the next 3 games were easier playing people around 1100-1200 Elo (I'm 1443) until the game for our seventh win where you meet these top tier players again. Why do you play guys ranked 50th in the world on your 2nd game? Is it just luck who you match? And then more top tier players for the last two games. I have been flawless 30x times, I don't know what they have done to the matchmaking but ever since the April update my highest wins is 8 and a few weeks ago I got to 7 wins and lost 4 straight times. I am a good enough player to get to the lighthouse on my own, but I feel like now I have to find a top tier player to carry me there which I do not want as It would bring my self belief down.

3 RisposteJust git gud bro. I was in the same boat as you. My first time playing trials i won only 2 games and got destroyed card after card :( . Now flawless isn't much of a problem. It takes time but you'll get there

We've played some really good teams this week and beat some of them as well. If trials was easy it wouldn't be worth playing. From what I can tell the first five games seem to be randomly matched. You either get terrible teams or really good one, then from 5,6,7,8 seem to be fairly evenly matched and normally a really difficult one for the last. I don't know if it actually works like this it just feels like it does.

9 Risposteer, Trials was brought in, in the HoW Expansion. It was designed to give PvP players an endgame like the raid was for PvE players. Endgame mean that its only for people who want that challenge. Its hard, causes its ment to be hard. Match making favors the number of wins on the Trials card as a primary match making factor. Basically it was only ever ment for top tier players.

9 RisposteNo offense bud, but that's what trials is all about. Working your way through the pvp teams to show you earned your right to be there. A trip to the lighthouse is not deserved it is earned. So you either get their with your team on your own merit, or you don't There is no in-between.

2 RisposteI don't understand why there isn't an averaging system for matchmaking. A bracketing system that take the k/d of a team, divides it by 3, and then match them to teams in their bracket. 0.0-.99 1.0-1.99 2.0-2.99 3.0 and up Something like that. If it made finding a match longer I would be ok with that. At least I would know I have a chance to be competitive in that system, not just be a speed bump for a dragster. As it stands the matchmaking system is a joke. I don't claim to even be good at pvp. So I realize I need to get good. But playing a team with a cumulative 2.0 k/d against my team that's under a 1.0 how am I supposed to get good? That's like telling a 6th grade team they have to play nba teams this season. So that's my idea, for what it's worth. I still play as it is now, but when you get 5-0'd by guys in the 2.0 k/d range in less than 5 minutes and you have 0 wins and 2 losses on that card already.... That's ludicrous.

I did this week flawless and you can see that i am not pro 1.02 1.05 0.99 kd It was my third time i went flawless But the problem maybe you never went flawless os because you not good enough? You need just to train in the elimination and also trails with you team and after some time you will go flawless

Nope I'm pretty -blam!-ing good at pvp and even I was stopped from going flawless this weekend on one of my favorite maps we were getting matched up against mother-blam!-ers with like 2.0 kds which we still went 4-4 but in the end it was like every single game was full on sweat and mother-blam!-ers were getting there ultimate victory on like our first or second game it's kinda embarrassing on bungies part

Me and my two friends have 3 very easy wins to start off a card and as soon as we get to three wins we get stomped on every single time. We have yet to make it past three. 3-0 every time and end 3-3. It's so frustrating.

10 RisposteThe thing is, most of these above average players grind first three rounds for elo. They play first three rounds and restart card. I met a team of three sunsingers with 98% win rate. These kids were 13 and 14 year old. And all they were doing was restarting card. One of them was on 101 win streak. Their elo score was around 1700.

Lol i'm bellow average in pvp but play with 2 friends that have a kd above 1.0. The trend I have noticed is that after about 5 or 6 easy wins, we go against the sweatiest mlg red bar assholes. They usually beat us 5-0 within a blink of an eye. I play for bounties, not 9-0, but it still amazes me that this pattern happens EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. Also, the fact that I would die while shooting a red bar TAP DANCING titan in the face blows my mind. Seeing him blink across the map is a whole other story. Even though we ended up winning, that was pretty much the straw that broke the camels back. I can't even have fun playing for bounties.
