After two runs at the weekend just to do bounties I find that Trials is no fun at all for the lower end of the PVP skill level. Occasionally a good close game will be had but otherwise its me getting stomped or occasionally stomping some poor other players.
I am a reasonable 6x6 PVP player and not a very good 3x3 PVP player and I was the top on our team which may give an indication of our skill level.
I have noticed recently that the first 1, 2 or 3 games of the ticket are the ones that are way and above the worst rounds for us getting stomped on. I am trying to understand why should that be ? It used to be rounds 5 & 6 but now its the early rounds.
It seems to be this way every time I run, are we lower levels not supposed to be playing ? why would Bungie create bounties that are not particularly hard to achieve if we were not supposed to play ?
Am I just unlucky and seem to catch teams full of scarabs and flawless in the first three rounds who decimate us 5 & 0 in thirty seconds or is it the same for others ?
What's your thoughts fellow bounty hunters?
Don't get me wrong I am not complaining about getting beat, just don't understand the system that puts people who have gone flawless numerous times against those that never have in their first game.
(I'd love to get to the lighthouse just for the grimoire but I think I am resigned to never doing it)

Have a look at that.
Playing with a couple of guys who are just bounty hunting and pretty low ELO.
First game on first character, 5% chance to win lol
Carried on like that for 3 games at least, second game 2% chance to win, third game 8%
Its not easy trying to get good :)

2 Risposteif all the casuals would just stay out of the trials (I am a casual and I've played one trials match) it would be the best against the best and they would find themselves having a much harder time making 9-0. we're just the fodder that makes their gaming easier.
-
I was god at destiny's pvp, now after a break I'm decent. Trials has gotten even sweatier than the one I left. What the -blam!- did bungie do?
-
3 RisposteElite? Nope just for poeple without anything to do on weekend. Like meet friends, drinkin beer, smokin pot, clubbin etc

5 RisposteWe went in for the bounties, got slaughtered every first game, all the games after that were a little more even, we still managed to lose a lot, but it wasn't too lopsided
-
1 RispondiThe scarab was the only good player on that team. You let a guy who had never been flawless go 10-0 on you
-
Trials is for sweaty cheaters. I have yet to play trials this whole year and not run into a team lagging and glitching. Like if you suck that bad you need to cheat you should jump off a bridge. Your real life must suck a bag of dicks.
-
I suck ass at trails but do the bounties and do fairly well. I guess I never came to the conclusion to put time and effort into going flawless.
-
1 RispondiI don't like trials but it's meant to separate the bad from the good
-
1 RispondiI'm done even trying to play trials, all it does is get me salty....i do good in regular crucible, but in trials I get wrecked, even on the early rounds, the most I've made it was 7-0, and then I got lagged out
-
I would like to see some kind of change to the matchmaking system. Getting demolished in rounds 5 and under shouldn't happen as well as people being matched up against others with a 2.0+ KD when the highest KD on the team is a 1.4. Doesn't make sense.
-
3 RisposteYeah I checked a friend's run in trials a couple weeks back- in an early round (2nd or 3rd match) they met (I forgot his name but he runs stream carries with Dr. Lupo), who looked to be playing with two good players (warming up for carries?). They had a 1% chance to win. They didn't.
-
TL;DR But I do agree with the title, trials has been getting increasingly more difficult since HoW
-
1 RispondiBungo NEEDS those twitch streamers to play their game and keep it out there. That's why lighthouse "carries" will never, ever go away. They will never change the system for that one reason alone.

2 RisposteI'm 47, my reaction time to real life events is still super sharp, on a screen though, it's slowing down, after a lifetime of gaming I can see and feel it. I'm fine with that, no complaints at all. But it means that PvP is hit and miss for me, I have some excellent games, many average and a lot of duffers. Again, all good, I'm having fun. But then there's trials, what the hell happened in the April update? I used to do my bounties, get the armour and try for the weapon, no way I'm going flawless. Again, no problem with that. Now though, it's a very unpleasant experience. Every first round is flawless and scarab emblems and a wipeout for my team. It's like all the average Joes have left and only the hardcore are left. This could kill trials. All the "elite" will bitch about weapons and cheaters because they're not winning every time and need an excuse rather than face being outplayed. You need the average and bad players in there, without us you have no stats, no good KD, no wins. Trials was more inclusive before the update, let the cannon fodder back in, we'll all be gone by 6 wins most times and then the fancy folks can sweat it out against each other after that.
-
3 RisposteElite = top .1% So no. Trials is a low form of competitive game play, so it is not just for the top .1%.
-
3 Risposteyour experiences is normal. Trials sucks for normal players. I stopped trying.
-
1 RispondiTrials are ... snipe, or get sniped... thats why a lot of people are not playing trials anymore so the chance you get a super skilled team matched with you are bigger now I dont have fun in trials and i dont play them
-
Nop its easy .. went flawless on friday 3times.. Just need a team that can communicate and work together well .. Try to teamshot .. stay close to eachother but not to close.. Dont do same thing everyround .. Etc etc
-
Not at 1am at least. Me and my friends where just messing around and we went flawless.
-
3 RisposteModificato da Stuie54: 6/7/2016 11:17:02 AMMatchmaking should be random or connection based. That way even casual players can "get lucky" and make it to the lighthouse. It should also be like regular crucible where light level doesn't matter to try And ensure more balance (I know destiny is not balanced!) And SBMM in normal crucible is a disgrace! We should have ranked and social playlists like we used to in halo! Bungie have made so many bad decisions with pvp in this game... Losing faith in the pvp game making abilities of the company that created halo for Christ sake!
-
Just keep trying you will get lucky with matchmaking eventually. Last night at 8-0 the last team I fought all left the game immediately and I went flawless lol.
-
2 RispostePercentage is just a number. I had to get better at crucible by doing back to back crucible everyday and training. For me i am pretty good in trials no matter the kd. All you need to do is find a good team. Your team shouldnt have an average of 700 elo. I got better by playing with good players and learning from how they play.
-
3 RisposteThe problem is that you're on Xbox Live, with our significantly smaller game population. Which got even smaller recently after the release of games like Overwatch for example. Go buy yourself a PS4 and get to enjoy the first couple rounds again.
-
I played I suck and we went 7 before we lost. Got with another team last night played for bounties we lost but be learned alot we had fun
-
3 RisposteLast night I was playing trials won our first game put us up to 3 wins with boons applied, then the 2nd game (for our 4th win) we came up against a guy ranked 50th in the world doing a double carry we couldn't get close to him at all he'd pick you off with his sniper before you could even think about scoping and his last word skills were insane, we lost but the next 3 games were easier playing people around 1100-1200 Elo (I'm 1443) until the game for our seventh win where you meet these top tier players again. Why do you play guys ranked 50th in the world on your 2nd game? Is it just luck who you match? And then more top tier players for the last two games. I have been flawless 30x times, I don't know what they have done to the matchmaking but ever since the April update my highest wins is 8 and a few weeks ago I got to 7 wins and lost 4 straight times. I am a good enough player to get to the lighthouse on my own, but I feel like now I have to find a top tier player to carry me there which I do not want as It would bring my self belief down.
