After two runs at the weekend just to do bounties I find that Trials is no fun at all for the lower end of the PVP skill level. Occasionally a good close game will be had but otherwise its me getting stomped or occasionally stomping some poor other players.
I am a reasonable 6x6 PVP player and not a very good 3x3 PVP player and I was the top on our team which may give an indication of our skill level.
I have noticed recently that the first 1, 2 or 3 games of the ticket are the ones that are way and above the worst rounds for us getting stomped on. I am trying to understand why should that be ? It used to be rounds 5 & 6 but now its the early rounds.
It seems to be this way every time I run, are we lower levels not supposed to be playing ? why would Bungie create bounties that are not particularly hard to achieve if we were not supposed to play ?
Am I just unlucky and seem to catch teams full of scarabs and flawless in the first three rounds who decimate us 5 & 0 in thirty seconds or is it the same for others ?
What's your thoughts fellow bounty hunters?
Don't get me wrong I am not complaining about getting beat, just don't understand the system that puts people who have gone flawless numerous times against those that never have in their first game.
(I'd love to get to the lighthouse just for the grimoire but I think I am resigned to never doing it)

Have a look at that.
Playing with a couple of guys who are just bounty hunting and pretty low ELO.
First game on first character, 5% chance to win lol
Carried on like that for 3 games at least, second game 2% chance to win, third game 8%
Its not easy trying to get good :)

Ok, so I get your point for the most part, it was more fun in y1, and I say that even though I've improved a lot through y2. The twitch streamer mlg pro thing however, is where I think people get thrown off by the psychological aspect of it and the scars wearing etc etc. Just yesterday in 1 run we came across 2 full teams all part of a twitch streaming clan, we won them all pretty easily. It's when I get tired, hungry, and then cranky, that I play terribly. Which then leads to the saltiness I guess the best games I play, are when I don't bother acknowledging the enemy team, and remember not to care so much, whilst still aiming to play smart. Trials isn't only for the elite, but I can see why some think that.
-
Like Crucible, I only play it for the bounties, win or lose. If they didn't have those bounties, I wouldn't bother playing it. Hardly bothered playing Trials in Year 1 because it was such a pain in the ass.
-
It should be. And I've never made to the light house. Just wish their was a suck bracket.
-
1 RispondiTrials was always for the elites. It's the pinnacle of competitive crucible.
-
This was my exact experience last night. 1 win 7 losses. Positive k/d in 2 games (1.5 and 2.0) and 6 matches with k/d below .8. I'm assuming it was just extra sweat bc it was Monday.
-
It has always been for the elite...it's a competetive 3v3 event. What the -blam!- were you expecting? Lol

1 RispondiThe only people that still play trials are super try hards Im OK. I went flawless a few times. Done with trials now. Overwatch for pvp, darksouls for pve, destiny for raids and team loot grinds
-
I'm pretty sure it was always meant for the top tier pvp players. I haven't even attempted it year 2. I thorned my way to the lighthouse a couple times last summer. No shame. I'm good with not even playing it.
-
I used to run round Trials a bit. After going flawless there is nothing there for me anymore. *shrug*
-
2 RisposteThe other game-ruining wildcard in this mix is the "Damage Referee". Bungie announced a while back that all PvP playlists were now using the Ref. The problem is.... no one knows when it is ruining your game. If whatever measure Bungie is using to trigger the Ref drops onto you while in-game, it won't matter how hard you try. Bungie should create a pop-up that alerts players to when the Damage Referee is active and killing their game.

I just wish they would introduce matchmaking. The people that team together would have an advantage, of course they would. But it still wouldn't be a piece of cake to go flawless. Plus, all the people that just want to do the bounties would have an easier time doing that. Getting a LFG together is a pain sometimes. I just wanna matchmake and play

Modificato da xKCz: 6/7/2016 3:51:41 PMIt seems really rough lately. :( Managed to get to lighthouse for the first time in 3 weeks, last night. There always seems to be at least 1 match in the card, where the other team is just first to everything and gets every 50/50. Do everything right, but still get -blam!-ed over. Destiny being p2p, you could argue that it's maybe down to connection, but nothing seems out of the ordinary, so I dunno. The odds are just stacked against you for some reason.
-
Sbmm still affects the teams before hitting game 7. When I run with some of my try hard friends it's one beast team after another. But if I go into with my screwpvp friends I'll get 5 good matches before it gets ugly. It's a tricking balance of finding teammates. Basically you want guys who are much better then their kd shows
-
Yeah, I pretty much stay out of trials. But on the same hand you do have a game mode for the PvP elite which makes them very happy.
-
Nah just run the gold tier until you get a god doctrine. Then your 9 and 0. (∩⌐■ ͟ل͜■)⊃━☆゚.*

3 RisposteOnce again a thread with quite a few people with a k/d below 1 that went flawless (or at least claim so). Yet I usually don't even get to wins. I must suck a lot more than I think :(
-
4 RisposteTrials is not for the elite. It is for those who have great communication skills and are patient. There is absolutely no run and gun in trials.

Modificato da netherslayer777: 6/7/2016 2:31:16 PMI went Flawless (week 1) around 15 times last year (or more). It wasn't a whole lot, but it was a good portion of the HoW era and I was happy. It also wasn't easy. I am a mere 1.0 KD (lower back then). I clearly remember having sweaty matches every so often, but most I could put skill into overdrive to win. I went Flawless in Year Two (week 1), and I thought nothing much had changed. I then proceeded to leave Destiny for 3-4 months. I come back and I can barely make it to 3-4 wins. It isn't skill as I actually am doing better now in KD than before, and I play lots of Skirmish. Scorecard matchmaking has made a hard, but feasible challenge for average players impossible.
-
I can say since it's scoreboard based matchmaking, games 1-4 are really random. I've run into people where I beat the other team 5-0 while it was 2v3 and I've also ran into kjhovey for another first match. Just keep trying you'll get it some scrubs worst than you
-
We were losing 4-0, the other team quit and I received a message. "Enjoy the victory, keep trying to get better :)". Thanks LieutenantHoss 😁
-
Sad thing was when I went I there with 330's we were destroyed only a few matches in. I try again later with 2 friends I don't usually play with and go 7-0 all of us using odd load outs. I must say the first curse has begun to grow on me again.
-
They don't ban anyone so it's for Ddosers and lagswitching
-
4 RisposteDon't listen to kd and tracker. I win 1% chance games all the time. Against high elo
-
2 Risposteif all the casuals would just stay out of the trials (I am a casual and I've played one trials match) it would be the best against the best and they would find themselves having a much harder time making 9-0. we're just the fodder that makes their gaming easier.
