Well, you can spam Public Events. First Public Event per Reset will reward you with 5 Motes per Character. Consecutive Public Events will reward you with 3 Motes. You can use destinypublicevents.com to track when and where it will happen. I prefer to do it on the Moon. And while waiting, you can do Patrol Missions for Rep and Glimmer.
