I'm thinking of getting it. I missed out on the Open Beta as I was busy with real life stuff.
So any opinions on the game and if I should buy it or not?

1 RispondiThink of this game as Super Smash Bros. People loved those games and never expected those characters to be a part of a unified storyline since they come from very diverse franchises. An arcade mode was available but it was apparent that it was not the game's main focus. It was definitely only a competitive brawler. Overwatch has three or four beautifully animated cinematics that provide a context for their world and a look into their personalities. Instead of an empty world with powers, players may feel an extra desire to stomp Widowmaker as Tracer.
https://youtu.be/oI9llQZsrP8 https://youtu.be/LOxyIHUdwiE https://youtu.be/FqnKB22pOC0 /spoiler] Without a story campaign, they follow the Team Fortress style of format to a certain degree which was and still is very fun. The inclusion of boss fights on maps in their own mode following the same gameplay as the main game would be great. This way, the devs wouldn't feel pressured to create levels for a mode that was not their focus. It's definitely worth a purchase. I personally do not think so upon release, however. It looks fun but not $70 fun.

1 RispondiLooks too goofy for me but that's just my opinion
-
It is fun and competitive game, and it's one of the only ones I don't get annoyed at
-
4 RisposteThere's not much harm in waiting a while after it comes out. I'm not great at shooters like I used to be, and even I had a great time alongside my friends who are waaaay into shooters. I'd recommend it, but recommendations of games can get sooooo subjective and the next guy may loathe it.

7 RisposteWait for a sale. $60 on console is too expensive for three game modes.
-
I really like it but I only play pvp occasionally so I'm waiting for a sale.
-
3 RisposteWait for reviews to come out. There was very very limited game modes. Will get stale very quickly unless they add a ton of stuff to it. Good game, but I don't think it has staying power. Will be just another game collecting dust after a few months unless there are some surprises hidden, IMO.

6 RisposteInfo came out recently that the full game was the beta. No new game modes at launch, no new maps. It wasnt a lot in the beta so wait, especially since it is a 60 dollar price tag.
-
2 Risposte5-6 maps 3 game modes and about 16-20 characters and really low ttk. Is it worth it?
-
I'm not into pvp so the fact it has no PvE is a no go for me.

1 RispondiIt feels like your typical shooter...other than that it works a lot different. Set characters have only set abilities and movement. The game is HEAVILY based on a TEAM working together, even with randoms. To best explain it...it is basically a diversity cast like LoL with set characters and abilities, TF2 art style and rough gameplay ideas, with the smooth buttery feeling of mechanical flow to that of Destiny, and the fast paced action to that of CS:GO. A lot of people bitch about the price but here is where it stands out: The paywall does prevent entitled players and also toxic players like the ones in CS:GO and LoL. All content regarding maps and characters will be free after the game comes out, and they will more than likely be available in an instant. Also you can switch your characters on the fly in any given match. This game is balanced in the fact that any team composition can be countered by another comp provided both you and your teammates work around it. OverWatch is nothing fairly new, same as Destiny. But what both do splendidly is they mesh the best aspects from other games and make it their own. Are there downsides? Yes. No PvE? Eh...I would rather pay $60 for a game that you know will have all future characters and maps for free with polished gameplay than an incomplete game and many dlc expansions. Again that is my opinion...People complain about the lack of content which is hilarious, there is so many different ways to play OverWatch, especially with team comps. Same goes for Destiny. There are 12 maps and 21 characters and polished gameplay and even a highlights screen for your top plays while the game is running in that instance. In the future there will be a lot more content to be added, and knowing Blizzard...it isn't going to be something that will be half assed. I don't have too many negative things to say bc personally this game is right up my alley, art style, gameplay mechanics, and game flow. Even the stats system is pretty cool :D Yes there is story...but it is hidden, a sad bummer but we will learn more about it in due time. Anyways thank you for reading this somewhat long comment and I hope I helped you make a decision either way. If you have any questions as to buy or not buy it I would be more than happy to help you out.

I say yes. Definitely a must buy. BUT! wait for it to go on sale, REGARDLESS of your platform. No, i dont care if you're pc. A sale is a sale.

Modificato da wojo55: 5/11/2016 10:16:46 PMLack of content wait for sell. These kids are super excited but what do they care it's there parents money there spending. If you paid the same for less content before then it's a personal problem. It's an Ok game definitely not a must buy. If you need something new to play I'm sure there's one or two games you skipped over that be more worth your money. Unless your on PC which go for it
-
Well really depends
-
3 RisposteHire it out when its released and see what you think. If you don't want to hire my best tip would be to check out your local Target, BigW and Kmart and compare prices. In the past I've gotten new release games roughly $15 cheaper at those places.
-
I thought it was going to be stupid, but once I started looking at it, it seems like it'll be good.
-
4 RisposteI would only buy it for pc
-
8 RispostePersonally I can't advise anyone to buy it. It looks like there is very little to do. It reminds me of Titanfall and Evolve, it's going to be popular for a few months and then the population is going to plummet.
-
Way good
-
Buy it because each character is unique an OP in it's own way. Characters are easy to pick up but a bit harder to master. Rewards and at the higher end matches the use of team coordination which is a plus at least to me. I find the tank classes the most fun.
-
7 RisposteI'd say don't buy especially since you're from Australia, but hey who the hell am I to tell you what to do with your money.
-
1 RispondiGet TF2
-
3 RisposteI personally wouldn't buy it because I feel like its a $60 version of Team Fortress 2 which is a free PC game.
-
2 RisposteWhy can't I find the standard edition anywhere? All I see is origins edition and collectors. I just want to get the standard $40 one.
-
I loved playing as all of the different characters and learning how they counter their opponents as well as learning how not to be countered myself lol. I really like games where knowing your enemy can make you a much better player as long as you have the skill to back it up.
-
2 RisposteI've said it in other post where i thought the game was going to be utter shit. Next thing i know I'm throwing it in there for my GOTY. I've never had this much fun in a beta and I'll definitely buy it soon after launch.
