Does anybody still gunfight in this game anymore?
I honestly do not understand why people refuse to just, one on one gunfight anymore. Very seldom do do I jump in the crucible and see people duking it out. Every warlock throws a firebolt, every hunter shoots once/throwin knife, or wombo/combo, while titans either shoulder charge, or steal the kill the hunter has wombo/combo'd. Every hallway is being hardscoped, and any time somebody gets noticed, they tuck their tail and run/shadestep/glide away. I mean, did I miss the memo? The only ones that don't play cheap and go mega try hard, are just scrubs these days, or something? I can't be the only one to notice this, right?
Edit: I never thought this post would take off like this. I appreciate all of the civil responses and thought out opinions. But then there are the kids who are heartbroken, that I made a post about their precious playstyle, when they themselves can not kills without relying solely on their grenades to engage.

Edit: holy crap this thread took off. I was not expecting this many people to comment, let alone agree. It's good to see there are still gun slinging outlaws still showing the crucible what's up (not referring to the hunter subclass)

4 RisposteI remember in a game of Ib I died and Respawned in the same time as a Titan on the other team did. We just looked at each other and I thought "wtf" and then proceeded to punch each other and both died. Was awesome.

4 RisposteI think its down to the time to kill in the game being so quick, the game doesnt really offer good 1v1 gun battles its usually who shot first wins, unless its a skilled player vs unskilled.. I love charging in pvp trying to take 2 or 3 players down at once, but its rare that i get into a situation where its 1v1

The problem is the only way to do well in pvp in this game is to TRY NOT TO DIE other than try to kill. It's kind of bitchy

I do agree that there should be more one on one primary action.... But this was never meant to be a game like that... With how quickly grenades, melees and supers respawn.. Its obvious this game was never intended for that...

3 RisposteI swear I'll go days in pvp without being killed by primary's. Super, heavys, shotguns, snipers, and now fusion rifles are the only things that kill me. With that being said, let's nerf the mida.

3 RisposteInferno there are more primary fights. I wish inferno playlist was in trials and Iron banner, it makes for more gun fights. It also solves the sniping issue, as nobody is comfortable hard scoping when they cant keep checking the radar.

6 Risposteshadestep and garrison are a large part of this. Why continue to fight, when you can dodge away, regain your health and come back and win? It used to be that running would just mean you die with your back to your opponent, now we have incredible defensive tools to make retreating much easier. Shadestep needs the nerf bat.

There was this one time on anomaly by the outside edge where heavy spawns, i had a monte carlo and i was using twilight garrison, the other guy was using shade step (I've forgotten what gun it was) but we were dodging, jumping and straffing each other for like 5 minutes straight. Neither of us made any mistakes, it was so flipping intense. then his teammate came over and well i got double teamed lol. He then bowed at me and ran off
