Well here we are with the 7th episode of the DTC and the question this week is what Bungie got right what still needs to be fixed following the April Update.
On this episode we are joined by two new guests from the forum community, LoganX and Tzoedn07, as well as a return appearance by Kabr. For those that have never listened, we started this podcast to not just talk Destiny, but to give everyday community members a chance to be on a podcast and share their thoughts on the game.
So we're almost a week into the release of the April Update and now that we've all seen it in person, we delve into Chroma, Gear, PoE, CoE, balance and what generally works, what's fallen flat and what we'd like to see implemented still.
As always we love any feedback you'd like to leave on any of the topics we discuss and if you'd like to participate in a future episode, get in touch and we'll do our best to try to get you on to talk Destiny with us.

Finally had a listen all the way through. Nice job fellas. Thanks for the editing, Sols.

The new reward system is perfect. The nightfall is still broken in my opinion. Got a ghost today that was 13 light lower than my current ghost.

5 RisposteIs it only me or they didnt touch the fusion rifles at all. I was probably one of the few that used them before the patch. And i see no difference at all. I think all the people that like them now are just having a placebo effect

Lost sols. Suck a Dddddddd

5 RisposteI love the new CoE reward system. I love the new infusion system. I love the multiple paths to 335. I love the way crucible plays. Only complaints: Too hard to get Winters Run Strike Nightfall loot is still sub par (excluding unique drops)

6 RisposteAnother great show. I'll leave my review here. The good: New PoE is really fun. 42 more than 41. People are complaining that it's "Too Easy". Yeah.... with these modifiers it is. That's probably by design. The first week was likely hand picked to be easier, to get those 310-315s in there and have them do well, and not completely crush them. Mark my words... something like arc burn+Trickle+Grenade kills award bonus points then the last 2 rounds are fallen and hive..... You'll be on the forums asking for a nerf. Because trickle+grenade kills kinda sucks. And... arc burn 320 wire rifles and 330 wizards are gonna be really tough to kill. "Smart Loot" doesn't seem nearly as retarded as it once was. I have (so far) pretty consistently gotten rewards that are higher light than me. 1:1 infusion... it's about time. How many of you now have many many more weapons/armor sets you can use because of this change? The .8:1 was literally retarded. It was extremely punishing, glad to see it fixed. I had fun in the crucible. Fusion rifles are better, i've even used them in PvE *gasp!* Chroma is fun, I don't have any red yet, but i bet it's gonna look good with my brand spanking new Revnant Shader (that i finally got at lvl 40 dead orbit). In fact this is so much fun... people want more colors. I guess that's a good problem to have Faction weapon re-rolls are great, combine that with 1:1 infusion..... I now have something to spend my Marks on. Because I can instantly infuse them into usefulness. Faction packages are..... good, really good. I got a 320 hand cannon from the gunsmith. 323 helmet from the weird dead orbit guy. Rahool is just as disappointing as he's ever been (yes even with the current bug). Vault space. I didn't need extra, but I'm sure people did, and it's a welcome option to me. Bringing back some of Destiny's greatest hits. Yes some old vanilla TDB weapons that returned. We've been wanting it for a while and we now are getting some of it. A welcome change to me. Just sucks that you can only get it from Vanguard/Crucible packages. Talk about a grind fest. The bad: Ammo Nerfs, they don't seem to have hit the people you were aiming at, and have cause collateral damage in PvE. Seriously, my PvP play (as terrible as i am at it) has been completely unaffected. Solution: Back this change out now. Thanks! Removing MIDAs HCR, no, just no. It was used to counter snipers, I've always used scouts to counter snipe. It won't stagger my cabal friends anymore, so it's completely useless to me. I'll just roll an omolon scout with HCR (if it's possible) and that'll be more effective that MIDA. Solution: Put it back, removing it didn't change it's lethality, just it's usefulness in all activities. If you really want to change it's lethality at range... reduce it's accuracy at range. Force the player to fire slower than the weapons fire rate.... or better yet, don't nerf it. Hand cannon ammo buff: Thanks for some ammo back. My first curse can now kill many more people before i have to scavenge for ammo, but there is still a problem. The 81 Impact, 21 RoF hand cannons are still running wayyyyy too low on ammo in reserve. Seriously, minimum reserve should be 110 rounds. MAX 150. 180 with armor perks. Ammo nerfs don't do anything to PvP, so don't try to cite that as the reason. Almost everyone will die before they can get 30-40 rounds of hand cannon ammo out of the barrel. (Last Word being the exception here) Solution: more ammo in reserve. Thanks! Returning PoE Exotics not available in Kiosk: They did set an expectation here. If we scored it once, we don't need to again... amirite? That's why people are mad. (look at my posts in #humanedesign) Someone changed a reward contingency.... That's a no no. Bungie should know by now doing that pisses people off. Plus... 3 elder ciphers. What a nightmare. I did buy a universal remote and infuse it up though. Solution: Call it a bug and patch it. (i wouldn't expect you to apologize.... companies don't like to do that) Overall I'm having a lot of fun, and it's nice to see my friends list full of people playing again. There's only a few set backs here. I'll keep my eyes peeled for some ethical design problems. I think back to the beginning of TTK. I posted nice things about that as well, but once we got through all of the stuff.... it was just a giant, grind intense, lazy, skinner box. At least one of my concerns have been quelled with fixing the infusion system, so long as drops continue to progress with me, and remain frequent....enough. I will be willing to claim most of my problems with TTK corrected. Time will tell, but for now, this update was a pretty damn good one.... the 1:1 infusion being the MVP here.

Hand guns still need more reserve rounds and even scout rifles are running dry in prison if elders and raids. Special ammo need is ok but running dry on primary is happening a little to often.

1 RispondiBump for later?

I will say with this update I have been doing something that I haven't done since TTK came out: running strikes and enjoying it. My playtime decreased significantly with the double RNG + cut your light infusion system of TTK. This update has rejuvenated it. You can do whatever you want in game and it benefits your level. Strikes, raid, bounties, patrol, crucible- everything moves you toward a rank package and with the loot system behaving itself, you get something useful. Not too shabby.

1 RispondiGood stuff once again guys! It's awesome that you keep evolving actual community members. I hope Bungie takes notice of these and pays attention. PoE update wasn't horrible. Really wish it had matchmaking for challenge mode though. Ran a ton of Court of Oryx and it's been fun seeing other random ppl back running ruins. Gotta say I have completed more antiquated ruins in the past week than I have in months. I actually had to stop running them last night due to the number of drops I got. Most were trash but some were useable. It made the effort worth it at least. Level 41 is more of the same, wish you got better rewards at the end. Too inconsistent in terms of useable loot. Digging the Taken gear and the spektar gear, chroma looks better on Titan armor in my opinion than say Warlocks. Love it on the weapons though... More of that please.. maybe on a ghosts as well? Fusion Rifles are useful again as a secondary in PvE. That makes me happy.

1 RispondiThey need to increase the weapon drop rate of all rank up packages. I ground out oh about 20 crucible ranks and received 1 year one gun about 12 arms, 3 class items and 4 of the exact same roll on boots. This is exactly what worried me about the increased reputation.

1 RispondiWork has been nuts. Haven't gotten to the podcast yet, though looking forward to hearing. I'm enjoying many of the changes, including the rep package fixes and the 1:1 infusion. Will comment more after listening. Thanks, Sols.

1 RispondiThe update is mediocre to okay. The updated Prison is fun, could be a tad bit more challenging, though. The level 42 can be soloed by a light level 305-310 easily. Rewards are great, too bad they're going to be destroyed soon. PvP is literally unchanged. The sniper change did nothing. The ammo change did nothing. The high RoF auto change did nothing. It's baffling how bungo keeps making every single bad choice. Not to mention the changes in PvP directly affected PvE as well, but we all know that song and dance by now. Chroma stuff is neat, too bad it's mostly locked behind weekly reset and microtransactions. Overall the quality of life changes were great, and pretty much nothing else changed. Kinda sad.

13 RisposteGreat pod cast again! "If only there was a place to give feedback" Hahha love that line! Here's a little feedback I have after playing. Poe is pretty fun didn't mind no matchmaking for challenge mode I was able to solo it and it was really fun to do that. New modifiers will probably make this a lot harder in the future. The infusion changes are awesome I love 1:1 infusion and now I don't need to fill my vault with so much infusion gear I can keep weapons that I want to try out later or just have as trophies. More vault space is always nice to get as well. I like the consumables to gain more points for crucible or the vanguard as well as the changes to earn more points for factions. Also faction packages drop better light level gear which is pretty nice. Fusion rifles are really good now which I am super pumped about. Before the update I was only able to do well with a select few fusions with max stability and now I feel like there are more options. The ammo nerf I am not a fan of and do not understand the logic behind nerfing ammo in pve. Bungie stated the reason they don't separate nerfs between pve and pvp is they want us to have the same feel with our guns when we play pve and pvp. This statement does not make much sense as ammo dose not affect the way a gun feels. Also if they want our guns to feel the same why nerf them so much every update because it dose change the way our guns feel not only in pvp but also pve. However for pvp I am still able to hold over 20 rounds in my fusion rifle but I have a feeling that will get nerfed once people realize the power of fusions and start crying nerf. I like the changes to strikes the difficulty increase gives them a little more challenge and with strike specific gear being able to drop at max level gives me more incentive to rock strikes. Court of oryx is also fun now that people actually go there. Every time I've gone in I have seen people there to play with and the 335 artifacts drop frequently when your light is around 330. I've gone into the court when I want to pass some time even though I have 335 artifacts I'll go in to help others. Nightfall is still the same I only did 2 and got ghosts both times which I wasn't surprised about. I did receive a 320 ghost on my 327 warlock which was kinda frustrating but still not surprising. I like most of the changes and new things to do although I really hope they rethink the ammo nerf to pve.

3 RisposteModificato da CatMan: 4/19/2016 6:35:47 AMActually enjoying pvp….me….enjoying….pvp(I suck but still). Update is good, only problem is running out of exotic shards and wish xur would sell them again( running low when infusing exotics, and the ammo in pve. Another good podcast, again keep em coming.

3 RisposteModificato da Kirby235711: 4/18/2016 10:31:27 PMGood: High impact auto and pulse buff, hand cannon ammo buff, PoE, more exotics, sunsinger and voidwalker buffs, fusion buff, stormcaller and sniper nerfs that don't ruin them, chroma, better infusion Bad: PvE ammo issues, exotic nerfs ignoring PvE (TLW, Thorn, Icebreaker, Dreg's Promise) Lack of: shotgun buff, hand cannon accuracy buff, PvE supers buffs, Randal the Vandal, Shaxx getting a kilt Seriously. Shaxx; kilt. What's so hard to understand about that?
