Needless to say, Cloud Strife's Buster Sword as Sephiroth's sword. Now that those are out of the way, here is a few more: Greatsword (Dark Souls 2) [spoiler]This massive slab of stone(or steel) is quite the formidable weapon, and easily the largest in the Souls series. It's weight and power are nearly unmatched, making it a great choice for strength characters[/spoiler] Claymore (Dark Souls) [spoiler]This weapon was one of the all-around best weapons in the whole game, and used by a wide variety of people in PvP to astounding success. The versatile moveset of this weapon combined with its damage and access ability made it a beautiful weapon indeed.[/spoiler] Rakuyo (Bloodborne) [spoiler]This trick weapon was the favorite of the hunter Lady Maria, and I can easily see why. This elegant rapier acts more like a twinblade due to the attached dagger on the bottom of the hilt, and when split into a sword and dagger combo, this weapon turns its user into deadly water, with an incredibly versatile moveset and high damage. A favorite for many Skill builds, the spirit of Lady Maria lives on in the hunters who use this deadly sword[/spoiler] Holy Moonlight Sword (Bloodborne) [spoiler]This incarnation of the famous Moonlight Greatsword is quite possibly the best yet. Boasting a moveset similar to the Claymore, the untransformed version of the weapon looks like a deadly Greatsword that has more than enough weight and sharpness to make quick work of any foe. Transformed, though, it takes on its true form, becoming a beautifully elegant Greatsword that cuts through enemies like butter. This sword is literally made of magic, and its blade moves quickly despite its size. Not to mention the projectiles that can be launched from this weapon. It is quite easy to see why Arcane users were so happy with the advent of the Old Hunters DLC.[/spoiler] Infinity Blade (Infinity Blade 1,2,3) [spoiler]The iconic weapon that the games are named after, this incredible sword is first seen being wielded by the God King, and is the only weapon capable of killing a Deathless, a god-like entity that is not only immortal, but will come back stronger after being defeated. Additionally, the blade grows stronger with every kill, according to the Canon. As such, he weapon consistently has the highest base damage in the game, and undergoes a couple of visual changes between the games. Despite all this though, it's incredible power is easily recognizable along with its intense blue-hued swings.[/spoiler] Wander's Sword (Shadow of the Colossus) [spoiler]This weapon is not only a really cool visual design, but has amazing properties in game as well. Despite being the length of a regular sword, this weapon is able to scare away Shadow creatures, notorious enemies from ICO, which already makes it quite impressive. Furthermore, it is the key to bringing down the Colossi and bringing a dead God back to life. Even so, I'd want to have the sword just because of how cool it looks.[/spoiler] Frostmourne (World of Warcraft, Warcraft) [spoiler]This iconic and feared sword is the weapon of choice of the evil Lich King, formerly known as Arthas. This cursed blade is what originally began the corruption of the mighty Prince of Lordaron, during him into one of the most feared villains in Azeroth and one of the most iconic characters in gaming. While unattainable in game, it would be a shame to leave out this chilling sword. It's design evokes thoughts of frozen wastes and ancient powers beyond comprehension, the type that speaks from beyond the grave. [/spoiler] Ashbringer (World of Warcraft, Warcraft) [spoiler]The weapon that is arguably the counterpart to Frostmourne, this one is actually usable! Unfortunately, I don't know all too much about this weapon, but it would be terrible of me to exclude it from this list. Despite my lack of knowledge, this Paladin weapon should be instantly recognizable to any Warcraft fan, along with the Argent Crusade leader who wields it. [/spoiler] Keyblade (Kingdom Hearts, KH 2, and many spin-offs) [spoiler]This weapon is not any ordinary weapon. It is a weapon that chooses it's weilder, and that weilder must be pure of heart in order to use such a powerful weapon of the light. Indeed, Sora is quite the lucky kid to be able to use the Keyblade. In Kingdom Hearts, it quite literally the key to saving the world from the encroaching darkness. It is the only thing capable of banishing the shadowy Heartless for good and sealing off worlds so that the darkness does not consume them. Moreover, it is the only weapon able to release a heart from a prison of darkness. The power of the weapon is sought after by many villains in the series due to its ability to access a world called Kingdom Hearts, a place of untold power and unlimited possibility. This iconic sword is not limited to its regular form, though. With the use of special charms, this blade is able to shift into may different forms, such as Oathkeeper and Oblivion, which grants different powers.[/spoiler] Gunblade (Final Fantasy VIII) [spoiler]Weapon of choice for one Squall Lionheart, this is the second most well-known Final Fantasy weapon of them all. It's massive size and weight alone make the weapon quite formidable, even in inexperienced hands, but add in a revolver function and you've got an all-around amazing weapon. [/spoiler] Greatsword of Artorias (Dark Souls 1 and 2) [spoiler]This is the sword of arguably the most badass character in all of gaming. Knight Artorias is a formidable foe and amazing swordsman, as shown by the fact that he is one of Gwyn's four Knights. However, we get to meet with, and square off against, this fearsome foe in the Artorias of the Abyss DLC for Dark Souls. This fight is no pushover, and is loved by the fans for being the best Souls boss yet. What makes Artorias all the more badass, though, is the fact that when we fight him, he is corrupted, being almost hollow, and severely injured, being able to use one arm. Even so, he wipes the floor with many players with his mastery of the Greatsword, performing some devastatingly elegant attacks that cleave off your health in mere seconds. That is all using his off-hand, too. Small wonder this sword is one of the strongest Greatswords in the game. What:s more, it makes another appearance in Dark Souls 2, albeit with a different name and most definitely eroded. It retains its moveset from Dark Souls while wielded with the right hand, which is already pleasing in and of itself. However, place it in the left hand, and suddenly the sword gets an entirely new moveset, mimicking Artorias's moveset back when you fought him in the first game. [/spoiler] Energy Sword (Halo 1-5 and more) [spoiler]Anyone who sees this sword immediately knows what it is from, being a staple sword in gaming communities everywhere. This feared Sangheili weapon is only awarded to those who have trained for years to wield it, and to those who have proven themselves on the battlefield. And for good reason, too. This sword is able to kill a Spartan II in one swing, and anyone who knows Halo lore knows that thst is quite the feat. As some might say, it is the key to unlocking people's deaths. Luckily for us though, we are able to kill the sword-wielding Elites and take it off their still-warm corpses! While this weapon has a battery, and won't last too incredibly long, it is sure to make you one of the most feared Spartans on the battlefield.[/spoiler] Chikage (Bloodborne) [spoiler]However you decide to pronounce the name of this weapon, everyone knows the deadly sword that you're talking about. A stable in Cainhurst weaponry, this weapon draws from a user's own blood in order to cut down foes. Untransformed, it is an unassuming sabre with a special cutting edge that is certainly no pushover. Transformed, however, the blade is soaked with blood, extensing it's range and damage while eating away at your own health. While the health drain can be dangerous, it can be managed fairly well and is completely worth the damage that you dish out. A must-have for many Bloodtinge builds, this weapon is something to be feared.[/spoiler] Simon's Bowblade (Bloodborne) [spoiler]One of my personal all-time favorite weapons, this curved sword is a very unique weapon. While nothing too special in sword form, it is still fairly good to use and has a surprising moveset that will definitely catch your enemies off guard. Transformed, however, and you get one of the best beast-killing weapons in the game. Like the name suggests, the sword splits off and transforms into an elegant bow, able to dish out very good damage at a range at a very low cost, with the addition of being able to score reliable damage on sensitive spots on many bosses. The selling point for me on the Old Hunters DLC, it is worth every penny.[/spoiler]
