Just a list of things I've wanted to be in Destiny. The stuff at the beginning is stuff that's real commonly asked for. As you go further down, you'll see things that are a bit more unique which I believe add a ton more value to the game.

-Space patrol (bc how am I supposed to seriously believe we've never encountered Fallen/Cabal/Hive ships on the way to these planets?)

Awesome idea for something called a mini-raid. This is basically a highly mechanical and longer strike, but not a raid. It's a three man activity and sounds like something that could rotate in as a bi-weekly nightfall type thing. Really quite some great work.
If you have a moment, check it out. It's long, but it's content like this that just adds so much value to Destiny and should be heeded by Bungie.
[spoiler]Vex The Worlds Beyond strike
You drop down into the beginning of the jumping puzzle in the Vault of Glass and have to jump quickly between the platforms because they spawn much quicker and Taken Vandals and Hobgoblins are sniping at you. When you get to the door to Aetheon's room, a prevent Vex Sacrifices starts but if one Vex sacrifices itself you're team is wiped. Eventually a hydra with three shields like Undying Mind comes out. You have to kill it in 30 seconds to go into Aetheon's room. When you go in you see the Taken Minotaur pulling energy out of the past portal. He sees you and flings you through the hole at Atheon's entrance out to the mountains beyond. You land and have to scale the mountain which is teeming with which ever Vex is in the past portal (it has been forever since I did VoG) because they have been exiled here when the Minotaur was taking control of the past. You fight your way to the top where this is a powerful Minotaur guarding a relic of some sort. You kill the Minotaur and one person touches the relic and it immediately takes them through the past portal with waves of Vex pushing in. Your guns don't do damage but you have an Aegis Shield which you can kill Vex with. The other two guardians are bounced to another mountain where they do the same thing. This time the person who takes the relic goes into the past as well but with a relic sword. They fight off Vex together while the last person is bounced to another mountain but this one gets an orb essence. They can throw a grenade that blinds and staggers enemies while the super instantly charges the sword or shield super of the person you use it on. Eventually a mini boss will come out of the portal which is the main bosses hand. To kill him, the OE (orb essence) person has to blind it, the shield person has to super it, the sword bearer has to super it then, the OE person then has to insta charge the sword bearer super so ha can slam it. That kills it. You run out of the portal and the Minotaur staggers back missing a hand. He extends his arms and the sword becomes one of his hands while the sword becomes his other hand. The final encounter has begun. Every player will receive the debuff of either Future's Return or Past Repeating Itself. Depending on which one the team gets, you have to go to that specific portal. One person keeps the portal open while the OE (who still has their ability obviously) and other person go in. There are tons of Vex protecting a relic at the top of the stairs. The OE person has to get there and take the relic and dunk it like the spark in Rift into the Minotaurs chest. The shield then drops which you have to pick up. Your teammates guns disappear and you have to damage with recharge like Time's Conflux. After 30 seconds, the OE person will have to chuck the relic at the sword which knocks it into the air and then slam it into the Minotaurs chest doing lots of damage. If you don't chuck the relic after 30 seconds your team is wiped. You have to repeat until he is dead.[/spoiler]

Much larger patrol areas, like planet sized patrol, with ruins and caves and forests and deserts. Also they should have rotating weather and day and night cycles. Also there should b natural hazards like tornados tsunamis hurricanes earthquakes volcanic eruptions sand storms
