Id rather pay $80 for a substantial update than sit through a rehashed poe.
After 7 months of nothing we get given a handful of reskinned gameplay that in all honesty was probably some of the worst gameplay in its og form.
The og prison was completed by many extremely fast and the gear was trash. The exotics were fun but hardly serious.
Is it sad that the best thing about this update is the reskinned priest strike? Quite possibly. I think its because its roots are in vanilla destiny back when grinding was fun.
I see some people claim that the content is free, others claim we paid for it with TTK... Some even say microtransactions funded it... Well regardless, I look at it like this:
We all have some sort of vested interest in the game, I mean you have to otherwise you would not be reading this on a Destiny forum. Therefore id advise you against calling this post a toddler rant as it truly isnt. I just believe the game in which we all enjoy and want to see thrive would be in a much stronger position and offer a more fulfilling experience if they actually gave us a piece of DLC that had meat on the bones.
I just cannot believe after all of this time im returning to the forums and seeing the same old shit, and once again contributing to it. When will the weather change? Hell id happily drop $80 for some nice DLC that lasted a couple months, brought the community together and ensured a stronger future for the game we all enjoy...
But what do we have?
A POE reskin that we will feel compelled to do just to keep up with everybody even though we never play poe anymore and the community arguing with eachother over bs as there is no decent content to play.
Before you detectives start checking my gear, I walked away from destiny shortly after the first week or so of the taken king and return once in a while to check out events. I used to be at the top of this game but dont feel the need to as the future is bleak, the future is the prison of elders

I gotta say I agree with you, even though Im happy about the update I do wish it was something a lot bigger, I would spend whatever amount of money to see something huge.

2 RispostePoorly thought out end game weapons from raids are what was disappointing in year 2 for me.
-
1 RispondiNot sure if you realize how much goes into developing a game and content. Either way, save your 80 dollars until october, I believe they are releasing a DLC/expansion at that time.
-
1 RispondiRight! If they charge $80! You will -blam!-ing bitch about that too!
-
1 RispondiI would agree, though not a year 1 player, I would still rather have a completly new raid than bringing back the old ones. Yes bringing back the old ones would've been nice....but it should've been done months ago, or they never should've been made obsolete in the first place. If it was between old, updated content, and completly new raids, I'd rather completly new, everytime.
-
5 RisposteThe answer is simple: don't download the update and don't play the "new" reskinned content. And if you REALLY want to register how dissatisfied you are with Bungie, delete your characters and uninstall the game.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess you can't and won't do any of that, and that you'll be playing the crappy new content on April 12th.
-
2 RisposteYou shouldn't pay for an update, and don't worry a DLC will come our way later this year. This update is just to have something to do until then.
-
8 RisposteAll I'm saying is, they delivered some awesome content when the game launched. The vault of glass was awesome, the strikes were fun, iron banner was around, and the forums were still straight poison. Nothing but an apocalypse would bring this community together, and even then, we would prolly still fight and argue over which of our guns killed mutants/zombies the fastest.
-
2 RisposteAt the end of the day I know for a fact you would not want to pay $80 no matter what
-
I feel the same way. I don't want old raids or an old POE, I want to pay for NEW content. It's been 7 months and we get POE again?
-
2 RisposteIf you would pay $80 for one DLC you're retarded. Just buy a brand new game with that money.
-
3 RisposteI'd pay $150 for a decent blowie. Any offers?
-
-
Yes. Id pay 100.
-
The difference between DLC and an update.
-
3 RisposteTheres a lot of things people would rather do. I would rather kill myself, than read your whole post.
-
2 RisposteBug off its free and something to do who cares
-
I'd rather pay for good content also.
-
3 RisposteI'd rather them give us the option to roll-back to Y1 and remove everything ttk related.
-
2 RisposteI agree, but the problem is that all the entitled kids in this community, would expect an $80 update for free... I'm with you 100% and would love an expensive update that has a lot more to offer than a free reskin, but it would never fly. For what I paid for taken King I was very happy with the amount of content, but too many people grind it out fast and then complain that we got jipped for our money. One idea that might work is if bungie just did more frequent dlc for $20/30 every other month or so. It would keep it fresh for everyone and might eliminate the problem they run into where everyone finishes the new content as fast as possible, and then has to replay the same old shit for 6 months before anything new comes out again. More frequent updates would mellow out the roller coaster ride that destiny is. That isn't me bashing the game because I love Destiny and it's one of my favorites ever, but more people would be able to enjoy it consistently, instead of having a lot of fun for 2 weeks, and then being bored for a long time before getting any information on what's to come. Sorry for the essay lol

2 RisposteYou forgot about what they already released. Missions, strikes, raid and the sparrow racing. Plus all the little bits which i personally didn't care about but it was there.
