Things people say about weed:
1. It's addictive! (So are cigarettes & alcohol.)
2. It impairs your judgment. (So does alcohol.)
3. It's bad for your health. (So are cigarettes, alcohol, and cheeseburgers.)
4. People can die from a drug overdose! (You can die from alcohol poisoning too but that's still legal.)
Give me one legitimate reason why weed should be outlawed. Just one.
Edit: 5. "It kills brain cells." (Not really.)
"Marijuana (Cannabis) – Another myth among anti-drug campaigns is that marijuana kills brain cells; this is not at all true. Smoking weed or cannabis will not cause neurons to die. Despite the fact that marijuana may impair the brain while the user is high, it doesn’t do any cellular damage or really harm the brain. Based on most literature, it is one of the safest illicit substances for your brain. Really the only major thing that heavy marijuana use can do is increase your risk for developing schizophrenia."

1 RispondiModificato da Threat Shift: 3/17/2016 6:42:08 PMWeed being addictive is kinda true and false. Me quitting weed was pretty easy. It's like the time I quit Call Of Duty: I used to love Call Of Duty, but once I realized what was happening to my body, I stopped completely. I still do both socially tho. As I'm like once or twice a year Go ahead and make it legal, I don't really care.

1 RispondiWas supporting you used cheeseburgers as a negative example. Totally lost all respect for you OP. I'm going to run for politics just to make sure it stays illegal now. Diss cheeseburgers and you're a terrorist.

Modificato da OhtheHugeManity: 3/19/2016 9:18:29 AMWell I think it impairs judgement more than alcohol. So I imagine that weed driving will become a problem much like drink driving. Just because people can do it with alcohol instead doesn't make it any better Also if they do it in public, it risks getting those around them high (I think, but I'm no expert.) Plus lung cancer and other diseases caused by smoking
-
2 RisposteAddicting really? I guess it does affect everyone differently. I only smoke twice a month with my friends lol
-
8 RispostePeople shouldn't smoke pot, cigarettes or drink alcohol! Fite me IRL if u disagree m8.

4 RisposteAs it seems the 44% of this community are druggies and the rest 56% are the logic guys

5 RisposteStoners are obnoxious jerks

Just let them be, the people who like to smoke it let them smoke and the people who don't, don't have to

1 RispondiLaziness and easy access to the young. The best kids of my class got a hold of weed and drop to As and Bs and are now big pot heads doing nothing with their lives when they were on there way to Denver University(which is a tough school to get into for a full ride). Idk care what you older guys say but I'm looking out for the younger. This is our world and we need to pay attention especially if Trump gets office. We need to be focused!
-
1 RispondiDrugs can make people do stupid things, much like alcohol. Except marijuana isn't even as bad for you as alcohol, but does result in increased loss of judgement
-
I think it should be mainly used for medical purposes for those that are in serious pain.
-
I hate the smell, I would be fine with it if it was consumed as opposed to smoked though.
-
Just because alcohol is legal doesn't mean weed should be legal. That's just adding one more problem.
-
Because it's icky.

10 Risposte
1. It's addictive! (So are cigarettes & alcohol.)
Terrible argument is terrible, never use that in a debate
2. It impairs your judgment. (So does alcohol.)
Had the opportunity to say "so do women" and you didn't take that chance, you're losing me, OP
3. It's bad for your health. (So are cigarettes, alcohol, and cheeseburgers.)
Beginning to think you really don't like liquor. Also, so are vitamins in high doses.
4. People can die from a drug overdose! (You can die from alcohol poisoning too but that's still legal.)
Even though it's almost impossible to OD on Tetrahydrocannabinol but you chose to use the same argument again. I'm sorry OP, but out of spite I don't want Marijuana legalized just because of these poor arguments.
-
50 RisposteWhy should it be? Saying that thing A is okay because thing B has all the same negative effects isn't an argument at all... You haven't provided an argument for legalization. I don't really care whether it is or not. People who want to smoke will find ways to do it, regardless of the legal circumstances, so I don't see much of a change in them. The only difference I can imagine would be if it's legal, many more kids would try it who wouldn't otherwise, meaning more kids get hooked and have problems and whatnot.
-
1 RispondiYou can't OD on marijuana
-
1 RispondiImagine the amount of tax revenue that the government will get taxing weed. That could down the road lower overall taxes for Americans

not to mention hemp is a viable substance for many fields

2 RisposteI don't really understand Marijuana legalization Stands. Is it really that important in your life? Will your life be better if it were legal? Is there more positive than negative effects that it would do to your life?

It kills the rest of the plants in my garden

Modificato da SirBigWater: 3/18/2016 10:23:02 AMBecause it can mess you up. I support legalisation. But I do know first hand of the effects and after effects. It should not be illegal, but it should not be openly sold. Medical Marihuana should be legalised everywhere, at least. Or more available.
