I just got done playing my last round of Trials of Osiris, when I find out the people are working for Guns of Destiny, a boosting service. This isn't the first time I've seen them, as (before I got AdBlock) I saw an ad promoting them as being able to get anyone to IB Rank 5, a feat that I, if not everyone can do with a group of friends (or LFG people). So I go dig around, and I find they are paying upwards of $85 just for one Flawless Trials passage. And not only that, but they also service for Hard Raids and Challenge modes, for discounted prices over multiple characters. Which brings the question: "Do I want to pay the price of Destiny plus its expansion pass at launch just to get a flawless passage?" It brings up a fine line, one that I couldn't discern for the life of me. I just wanted to provide food for thought.
TL:DR: Is it OK to pay upwards of $300 just to have 3 completed characters?

People are paying for hard raid carries?? Well damn hit me up if you need a carry for some $$$!
-
Its really up to the person spending the money, but it's probably against the Eula or ToS, so ya know, don't get caught. I've seen it in other games where it bothers me more.
-
It just ppl paying for stuff they can't do, who then parade around pretending that they could.
-
One of my best experiences was going flawless the first week on burning shrine. I wouldn't pay anybody to experience that for me. Do it yourself mate, you'll be glad you did once you achieve it.

Do I think its ignorant to pay for trial carries sure but heres the thing a person is getting a service they want and people are making $$$ to do it (at least its not going to bungivision). If you can carry others for $$$ more power to them hell if more people could do "carrys" or were good enough to do it they would do it also. Honestly not that many people would pass up free $$$ if they could carry others. Lets say hypothetically its $50 for a carry and say 30 mins for all matchs. Then say they do 6 carrys that day 6×50=$300 and it took 3 hours to complete that's $100 a hour. All these numbers are hypothetical considering i do not know how much they make but I saw a comment here saying $85 so I'm guessing. Plus the time to complete could very well be longer but probably shorter if they are confident enough to carry people for $$$. Very very lucrative business while it lasts but as for me ignorant to pay for that.

300+ when u can get it for free on PD lfg? No thanks

I always want to face better players but i dont think it should be your career to play people games for them
-
No it is not ethical. By providing a strong incentive for highly skilled players to keep playing long after they finish it artificially biases the chance of encountering said players in a match. Is like qualifying for a tourney but every qualifying round you go to has a number of Olympic gold medallists in. Sure you should encounter these ppl at 8-9 wins but not at rounds 1-3
-
yeah, just as ethical as kicking a baby
-
Let them pay for what they want to get (still unethical and lazy), that doesn't mean we'll make it easier on them to go flawless. Me and my fireteam ended a supposedly paid flawless run on the enemy team on our 9th match, and all their angry messages and salty tears fueled me.

Monetary value is subjective.

It's not up to me it's not my money

4 RisposteModificato da Wintermute 2050: 3/7/2016 8:54:59 PMIt doesn't matter if charging is ethical or not. If you can't afford it, then it is your problem, NOT the person who can afford the service. You can spend MONTHS grinding and still not have a flawless run because ToO is very competitive now. As for GoD, I used them a while ago. There is so much competition in ToO that they could not complete the flawless run and gave me a refund. They were good gamers, but with no PvE content many Destiny gamers have turned their attention to ToO, making it an intense, sweaty experience. This weekend I sought another group. Within 10 minutes of paying them much less, they took me on an outstanding flawless run. I learned much from them, something that I could have wasted months trying to do on my own. The experience was well worth the small charge, and I received good rewards.

I boosted people to 50 in halo 3 for $50. Made a decent amount doing it 😇

I pay $100 a week to get all 3 characters flawless. It's my money!
-
No, it's stupid.
-
Your money. Spend it the way you want.
-
It's people like them that complain bungie ripped them off but are willing to pay more for a flawless run than they paid for the game. Lol
-
Lol I was going to swap my wife for a flawless passage but my post got ninjad for soliciting

1 RispondiModificato da SERAPH-X7: 3/8/2016 5:54:42 AMUn-ethical? Well if you're asking yourself then it might as well be. Personally I think those people dropping money for this kind of thing are idiots. Those same idiots will also argue that it's thanks to capitalism that they are able to do so and yada yada yada but it might be that they're telling themselves this to justify their stupid actions.
-
No, it's not ethical. And I hate when streamers say they will only play trials with subscribers. Hell, I was temp banned from a stream because I went in and offered a free flawless run.
-
It may not be unethical (it's a carry, just not done out of charity) but it's dumb as hell. If you're that desperate to see how it looks like, watch it on youtube.
-
Its a bad deal. Does it happen, yes! Why put a fish on the wall that you did not catch. Paying real $$$ to get carried is no better than the sorry azz lag switchin azzhats that cheat they're way to the lighthouse.
-
Modificato da Axion Boats: 3/8/2016 4:10:23 AMSounds like a good way to make some money, wish I was good enough to guarantee a flawless run to any random player.

Not to sound old, but gaming was way harder back in the day. There was no youtube to watch other people do things you couldnt figure out. No way of someone carrying you through a level. If I couldnt beat a game, I just didnt. Sure, there were cheat codes in the back of the game informer magazines, but that took the fun out of it for me. Imagine how rewarding getting the sleeper simulant wouldve been had everyone figured it out for themselves. Instead some streamers/youtubers did it first, posted it and now everyone can just paint by numbers.

I don't mind it, it's just that anyone who does choose to do this is clearly a huge idiot who is paying someone else to play their game. I sincerely hope no one actually does it... But I know there will be :(
