I just got done playing my last round of Trials of Osiris, when I find out the people are working for Guns of Destiny, a boosting service. This isn't the first time I've seen them, as (before I got AdBlock) I saw an ad promoting them as being able to get anyone to IB Rank 5, a feat that I, if not everyone can do with a group of friends (or LFG people). So I go dig around, and I find they are paying upwards of $85 just for one Flawless Trials passage. And not only that, but they also service for Hard Raids and Challenge modes, for discounted prices over multiple characters. Which brings the question: "Do I want to pay the price of Destiny plus its expansion pass at launch just to get a flawless passage?" It brings up a fine line, one that I couldn't discern for the life of me. I just wanted to provide food for thought.
TL:DR: Is it OK to pay upwards of $300 just to have 3 completed characters?

It depends on how much money you are paying. Let's say it is $20 and you make $40 an hour, then I would say it was more than worth it. If you are paying $75 ACD you make $10 an hour, then I would say that it is not. It is all realative to what you see as worth.

Na man save your money. You can literally almost buy another console with that kind of money. In the end it's your money and you do what you want with it. Remember though, your talking about an achievement in a video game.
-
I don't think there's anything unethical about it. They're offering a service that's supplying a demand. The ethics come into play around how they guarantee delivery of that service once someone has paid them.

Modificato da Warnite: 3/11/2016 1:07:46 AMIts your money do as you please with it
-
Meh, what people do with their money is their business. Who cares?
-
No. You can get to the lighthouse for free with your friends. It's not hard. Just do what you gotta do to get there. There's no respect in trials, just winning or losing.
-
No, its brainless to pay real money, much less that much for a trip a trip to the lighthouse.
-
Lol people actually pay. I had one person offer me £20 to get him to the lighthouse. I laughed and took him for free
-
I think it isn't. The lighthouse is supposed to be an achievement based on pvp skill. If people do not acquire the title by themselves it'd devalue the achievement of those who did.
-
It's pathetic is what it is. If you can't get there on merit it's totally meaningless.
-
It's stupid, and it's sad, but there's nothing unethical about it. Sometimes stupid rich people just don't know what else to spend their money on. Their lives are so void of any true happiness that they think they can buy the happiness. End of the day it's their money, and they can spend it how they like.
-
Paying people to carry you for something in a game is pretty sad...but whatever. If it makes em feel better about themselves...
-
Is it ethical to pay for someone to cut your hair?
-
2 RisposteIt ms pretty desperate of people to pay for flawless. It's also pretty greasy for people to charge, especially that much. I do Sherpa runs and carries and wouldn't dream of charging people
-
Not $300, there are people that do it way cheaper than that.
-
Anyone that pays to go to the lighthouse is a scrub
-
I think it is sad to pay to get carried but it is not my money. I went to the lighthouse once year one. My friends and i are not so good in 3v3 and we got our butts kicked a whole bunch before we got it together but you know what we earned it. We fought with each other and got mad and made mistakes, but that lH trip was earned and i can't imagine feeling the same satisfaction if i got carried. This pay and get carried is bigger than destiny. It is todays society and the lack of drive in it. The free pass because it is my money and i do what i want with it way of thinking.

2 RisposteIf you pay to go flawless, you are stupider than the person who asks you to pay for it. Nerf fusions 2k16 ~Master of opinions

the people that make money for carrying people to the lighthouse are the scum of destiny. if a streamer demands a "donation" to go to the lighthouse they're scum. if they have a website that sells trials carries they're scum. bottom line it's NOT ok to pay for flawless.
-
$85 lol.
-
Modificato da LashaMerc: 3/10/2016 9:07:33 AMI do flawless runs with viewers in my stream. No charge.
-
it's up to you if you are OK with that, who am I to tell you how to spend your money?
-
Haha ppl pay to go the lighthouse? Just when I thought I've met every type of scrub SMH
-
Ethical? I guess that's a personal question, the only people that are getting hurt are those on the opposing teams, that being said if 2 players are good enough to take anyone to the light house then they would have beaten the opposing team regardless of if they were paid or not......I still believe that once you make the lighthouse on 1 Character then that character should not be placed in matches against someone who has never been. That way every week those that have not been get to play all 9 matches against players that never have been....
-
Anyone who pays to go flawless is just stupid in my opinion

6 RisposteDestinyTracker showed that there are less than 100 teams who can get to the Lighthouse. Given that I am one of those, it makes me even more proud if that's a number that will dwindle if you remove the lagswitchers and sherpas. Tell you what Bungie... Remove special ammo entirely. Lets really see how good those people are if you take away their crutch snipers. We have no trouble on maps where sniping isn't as powerful - in fact, we have cleared without using a mercy. However, when it's a sniper focussed map, and people can sit back and use their crutch... Yeah, they would be wrecked without it.
