Now before you all start throwing hate messages at me, hear me out. This isn't gonna be a long rant.
Now I'm a huge fan of my hunter, especially my shade step. But I haven't seen any other evasion tactic even comparable.
The reason I say this is because when anyone is using a tracking grenade, all I have to do is shade step and, bye bye tracking. If I time it right I can avoid an electric shock from an arc bolt and a DoT singe from a fire bolt grenade.
Axion bolt grenades just float into space after I shade step if I couldn't just shoot the thing out of commission. And let me tell you, when I'm using my warlock that is super frustrating. The grenade is utterly useless if it can be shaken off or shot down. I'm sure anyone feels that way though when a hunter shade steps to avoid a grenade hit.
A blink jump, or even twilight garrison can't shake off these grenades. Run from them maybe but not fully avoid them like shade step.
The hunter night stalker has many defensive counter moves to negate or subdue enemies. Shade step, although good, is a bit too good for the reasons listed and also the glitch that is associated with shade stepping and pulling out the ghost to cancel the animation. Of course this is all my opinion but it's also what I see in the game. And no I don't want shade step to be taken away, just a small tweak. Let me know what you guys think?
EDIT: For those of you commenting about over-shields and supers as an equal to shade step. Your trying to compare a non-cool down, spamable evasive move that can be glitched to further confuse and kill enemies to abilities that take time to acquire by a cool down or are meant to be finishers. Punching someone for an over-shield and using a super should not be on the same level as a normal evasive ability. Why would any of you even consider that a close comparison? It just makes the shade step look that much more worse by comparing it to supers. Lmfao basically your saying other classes have supers to negate damage so leave the non-super ability shade step alone.

1 RispondiThis is very true. It's why I'm leveling a hunter as we speak. Never liked them until I saw how op they can be in pvp if you know how to use them.

Personally shade step doesn't bother me. Most players don't use it to its full potential, or just cant seem to use it well.
-
4 RisposteIt does have a cool down. You can only shadestep twice before a 2-3 second cooldown. That may not seem like a lot, but 2-3 seconds is plenty of time to kill them while they can't evade. Plus, you have to think about what is happening when you shadestep. You're going out of phase and become slightly less tangible. With blink you're only teleporting a short distance and that's only if you have the proper momentum, and garrison you're using a tactical jetpack. With shadestep you are literally entering the void for a brief moment.

4 RisposteModificato da boi: 3/14/2016 2:39:59 AMWarlocks have Angel of Light. We should appreciate it to be honest. It comes in handy when grenades are thrown. You can just jump up and float in place and avoid that grenade. Sort of like an evade, ya know? As for the Titan evade, it doesn't come as a perk, but it's still pretty useful. Not sure why people are complaining on its cool down time. It has the same cool down rate as shadestep. Now, as for shadestep, it's a little glitchy. I mean, in full, the Nightstalker subclass was pretty buggy. With that infinite shadowshot glitch, now with that secret 'cancel shadestep' bug.
and apparently there's "immunity frames" if you time it correctly.
Every subclass has its own ability. I just hope that everyone will come to that conclusion, and adapt to it, rather than ranting on these forums. If you can't handle it, then try using that certain weapon/class, and try it for yourself. It's that simple. If anything, shadestep just needs to be fixed. Not nerfed (not sure how it can be anyways) And, for goodness sake...
nerf fusion rifles.
-
3 RisposteIt's not. But it should not grant invincibility frames. I don't think that's intended.

5 RisposteModificato da Xx_69Jesus420_xX: 3/13/2016 11:31:42 PMMuted: Shadestep has a cool down (2 per 7s I think) You can still shoot someone mid shadestep Edit: Glitches don't make something OP. That means that <thing> is broken and Bungie is shit at fixing and balancing.

2 RisposteStatistically, Nightstalkers are underperforming in terms of average K/D. Although the ability may annoy you, there is no hard evidence to suggest that Nightstalkers are unduly benefitting from it.
-
2 RisposteYou can shade step out of a smoke if you're in one
-
2 Risposteshadestep and blink is hella annoying.thats why im playn division
-
1 RispondiLol a roll is overpowered (∩ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)⊃━
-
2 RisposteIt has a cool down u noob do it twice in a row then try it a 3rd time dumbass and u'll c it has a cool down u cant just spam the button over and over again !!!!!

1 RispondiShadestep is fine blink is fine
-
2 Risposteeveryone in support of a shadestep rebalance most likely does not play a hunter Everyone against a shadestep rebalance most likely plays a shadestep hunter, and currently relies on it way to heavily to be successful. My questions is whatever happened to gun skill with a primary weapon?

2 RisposteModificato da Zycko: 3/15/2016 6:24:53 AMI completely agree. i don't want a nerf or anything i just want tracking to work on shadestep i can't imagine bungie actually meant for shadestep to be this way. and This is coming from a Hunter. OR buff blink again.
-
1 RispondiNo, keen scout is better
-
7 RisposteNo. It's not op. What exactly do the night stalkers have? An amazing super....no. Great grenades......no. How about melee? Nah. Shadestep is the only thing good about the class.
-
18 RisposteConsidering how easy tracking grenades are to use Shadestep SHOULD cancel them out. Use a grenade that requires some skill to use if you don't want them to be canceled out. And Shadestep DOES have a cooldown after using it twice.
-
Shadestep is fine
-
It's not op it takes skill to use shade step effective you have to time it just right otherwise it still tags you and it does have a cool down but I agree it is very effective
-
come on man, stop the op and nerf post. game sucks as is……shit. Not to say gg but….gg

1 Rispondi600th!!!

4 Risposte

3 RisposteKinda why I run Nightstalker for trials. Op firebolt nades can't touch this.
-
1 RispondiA way to make your grenades that would otherwise put out of the game for 14 seconds.... Where is the downside?
