Datto and holtzmanns solution to DoT
They said that Damage over time (DoT) should only keep your shield down and not touch your health. That goes for thorn and firebolts only though.
Edit:Btw these changes wouldn't affect pve in any way.
Edit 2: I never said my opinion so don't hate me. This is an idea two very respected players had and Im only asking your thoughts on this. Second thing is that when I say shields I mean the big bar that's before your health, not over shields (force barrier or flame shield).
Edit: someone fcked up the 50/50. Who did that?

If you're snake-bitten in the wild you think you can just kill the snake to stop the poison? No, a much more expensive solution awaits you if you're to be so lucky. Not to mention what that would do to the gun's PvE effectiveness. I know I just invited comments like "who uses it in PvE anyway," and to answer that - doesn't matter. If they decide to completely remove or change a weapon's exotic perk to such an extent, it needs to be for PvP side only. Too many here seem to think they're going to convince Bungie to adjust the game in a way that will help them get Mark of the Unbroken every match. *Edit: So I'm not even sure what I was reading apparently! Saw DoT and immediately went straight to "oh hell here we go ruining weapons for the sake of PvP!" Will say I feel the same for any DoT though. Leave subclasses alone unless they're [i]fixing[/i] bugs/issues.

Streamers should be leading by example. By them calling for nerfs they basically let the entire community think that it's OK to call for nerfs and whine and complain until something is changed. In my eyes any streamer that has any kind of impact on the community should be leading by example and this is not a good example.

I agree something has to be done, particularly with the thorn. It's literally the only gun in the game that you can lose a gunfight and still get a kill. Maybe stop the burn once the person who fired it dies? I've won countless gunfights one on one with thorn users but then died because of the burn.
