[b][i]2666 AD: the year Catastrophe of Earth occurred. What circumstances the event happened under is unknown to society. Though the planetary government of Earth, the Overwatch, led by a mysterious superior figure known only as The Monarch, knew, refusing to tell any details about it to civilians, and acted quickly, managing to extract half of the human populous from the planet just months before it's destroyed. Now Beliam enters the picture. Approximately 140 light years away from Earth, a planet strikingly similar to it was found, and was colonized by the Overwatch to let humanity flourish upon much like it did on Earth. It had an oxygen atmosphere; it was lush; it had an ocean of pure water; its temperatures wavered between 80° and 20°; it was perfect. Though Beliam only had one continent large enough to sustain the whole half of the original human populous upon it; Cedyetica, as named by Sanshiro Hatawa, the architect of the cities which would be built upon the continent shortly after its colonization. As cities rose across Cedyetica, so did technology, just as it did on Earth. It once again reached the level of marvel and advancement it had back on humanity's homeworld in 2666 AD, from artificial sentience to laser weaponry, and, like back then, it was used both lawfully and unlawfully... Many citizens of Cedyetica follow the laws of the Overwatch, though some don't, and harness various genetic and technological super-abilities, earning the criminal class of Cyberpunk, whether by being augmented by cyber-technology, harnessing the abilities of telekinesis and telepathy, wearing a glove which can hack all the world's computers with enough energy, being able to alter and manipulate time, wearing a mask which can build anything of your mind's creation in reality, or being able to splice your genes/chemical makeup with that of another human, an animal, or a solid substance. Those who can cope with the Overwatch's laws stay within the luxury of the Surface, where the sprawling cities of Cedyetica lie, while those who can't must be held within the Underground, the literal underworld of Cedyetica where law doesn't exist, all is unforgiving, and anything goes. Though some folks are able to hide their Cyberpunk identities from the Overwatch and roam the Surface freely. It is 247 AB now. You're either someone without illegal superpowers, a Blank, or someone with illegal superpowers, a Cyberpunk. You can either stay within the luxury of the Surface or dwell within the anarchy of the Underground.
