Rift is such a fun game mode and the connection has never been smoother and the lobbies have never been this chill. I'm not sweating after a match anymore. Best Iron Banner yet IMO
Whats the Community's thoughts on this? anyone else loving this?

Edit) Clear some confusion, I play alone, sometimes with just 1 other friend.
Edit 2) seeing a lot of solo players hating Iron Banner Rift, shall I turn this thread into a recruitment thread?

One of my friends who hasn't really been into crucible up to this point is having a blast too. I don't think it's terrible really either. Having success going solo, and great success going in with a group. There is definitely way more blowouts now then there was though.

I'm right in the middle of fun & frustration. I solo IB 90% of the time & it's fun when everyone is on the same page. I noticed that some guardians don't run interference for the spark runner & you can't get to the rift without teammates, random or not. one game I get 20 + kills with top (team) score & others I end up with a 0.5 match K/D. Needless to say, I flow with the pace of the game & if I have to take point to burn a path for the runner & I die, I only hope it's a good death....had 9 straight losses yesterday before I squeezed out a win...in the past it never went past 5 losses. Got my weekly bounties (not at level 4 yet)& I keep getting my daily IB bounties too, so I'm not in terrible shape

I liked Rift before this IB. I don't like rift at the moment. People seem to be scoring more in IB than regular rift, I wonder if that's because there's more people playing that aren't that good at defending, or there's more people playing that are good at running.
-
Like you I was really dreading the IB this week and really thought I would just pass, but after I got a few matches under my belt I really got into the flow of the game.If lm not mistaken the teams I was on last night went for 9 wins out 14 and I had highest score a few times but don't hold me to that.So yea really enjoying so far.

You know, it's really painful when you keep getting dropped against full fireteams pub stomping but every now and then something like this happens and suddenly everything is all right. http://imgur.com/gtB1PlY

I lik it too better than the rest I play solo or with another as well
-
1 RispondiI'm in agreement with you. I think rift for IB was judged prematurely and wasn't given a fair chance before all the hate came out about it. That or I am wrong and it truly sucks and I just don't know it yet.
-
I am having a ball with this Iron Banner. As a Solo player I have been best all around at least 9 times in 30 or so matches. I don't understand what the complaining is all about. Grab the spark & run like a rabbit, change course, know the maps so you can confuse them, don't run the same way every-time. Be creative. I have used storm-caller Warlock, Striker Titan & Golden Gun hunter & been the best around on each of them.
-
To be honest, I agree. IB has never been so much fun.
-
I don't know why people dislike rift. It's fun

Loving IB Rift right now. Solo all day. LOVE it.

I am glad you are enjoying it. I have had differing experiences, however, and will not play it unless I am in a fireteam of at least 4. Mostly, that's for the social aspect, because win or lose, Destiny is better when done with others. That said, I have never really had much problem with red bars, except it seems, recently. Last night when we played, there were at least two people on the other team with a red bar every single match. It even crashed one of our matches, causing two of us to baboon out to orbit, and we had good connections. I thought this was addressed on Wednesday, but I guess not. Additionally, playing as a group of 5 or 6, we won about 90% of our matches. I felt a little bad for the other teams full of singles and doubles, because I knew how they felt. I could not stand playing as a solo. It was a nightmare. Rift cannot be won consistently without teamwork. Finally, Cathedral of Dusk and Rift on Iron Banner. No thank you. Iron Banner has been my absolute favorite PVP experience on Destiny. I look forward to it every month. This time around, however, not so much.

1 RispondiSay hi to everyone else in your fire team for me

3 RisposteModificato da Toketotem: 1/29/2016 4:23:42 PMYou've been extremely lucky then. At one point I was capped on medallions on all 3 characters. What time of day have you been playing? Please include timezone.

Hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. But I prefer clash
-
Rift is ok, still probably prefer control though. The lag is as bad as ever, just as many red bars as last time..... Until they kick consistent red bars out of lobbies or have dedi servers, we will fight the same issues.
-
I honestly agree. 2-3 games ago I had 50 kills. I'm tearing it up so far.
-
1 RispondiI completely agree. Rift gives you that rush when it is a close game. In control of clash it doesn't feel as important winning in rift. Instead of grinding iron banner I am just enjoying it because of the incentive to win.
-
Lovin this banner as a clan we posted 9 straight no mercy wins i personally rocked the rift for 10,737 points with a k/d of 4.0 so yes i am a fan and if you were on a team we destroyed . I say join our clan and stop losing..

Modificato da BootKnacks: 1/29/2016 4:21:09 PMMe too! half the matches are over before its two minutes in, so i get to start dance parties more frequently because there is no point in trying half the time thanks to the massive amounts of camping and one sided-ness this game variant offers! #IBDanceParty! Edit: also, more seriously, do enjoy the less sweaty matches and qucker time to find new matches. Just hate the gametype is all!

After 8 or so games I gave up. I should have probably spent more time doing rift, but I just don't get it. I didn't know whether to search for the spark, go to the rift, or kill people. I imagine all 3, but I just didn't like it.
-
I'd rank it behind control and ahead of clash
-
I like it.

I agree 100% Different, fast paced and fun

I played solo and with a 5 man team and it was fun.
