Seems like you just don't want to get your ass handed down to you by someone with more skills. Minuscule, subatomic baby balls.

  • I have no balls at all, but remember in Halo, game was looking for close match (people with matching skills) and then ended up matching people with uneven skills as a last resort. (Looking for ANY player) For me it's all the same as I'm in Hawaii, so location is far from everything (unless fellow islanders) anyway. Lag is just part of MM. But for top players to say they want to play for fun and not sweat it ALL the time? Lol. Since when did elite players become casuals? It all hinges on population, if there are many players near you, none of this should be a problem, if the population is decreasing and it becomes harder to find players in your region, then lag will be a part of your game. MM is never perfect, networking and connections are impossible to nail to perfection. I personally enjoy competitive matches.

Great, then you wouldn't mind going up against people with 2+ KD every 20 games or so. SBMM needs to go.
Guess what? Even try-hards don't like to be a try-hard 24/7. I know. Shocking.
• Lol, I guess it's fun to relax when you're that good and massacre all those lil scrubs like deer caught in the headlight ;P If you're really good at a game, you should be able to have fun and crush the less gifted players. Elite players are people too! #satirejustincaseyoutakethisseriously

Although that's satire, I completely agree. If people put in the time and effort to become better than the rest, they SHOULD be able to destroy their competition. WHY ELSE WOULD ANYONE PLAY PvP IN A VIDEO GAME?? People practice so they can beat other players and if you're ALWAYS playing against people with similar skills (due to SBMM), then how would you ever get a chance to use your acquired skills to do dominate in a game? Everyone from the other team would just shut you down. You wouldn't even know if you're getting better or not because you're ALWAYS playing the same damn people. There shouldn't be SBMM in non competitive game types like control, clash, etc...but there should be SBMM in ToO and Iron Banner because they are actually competitive. Or they should just introduce a ranked playlist WHILE keeping non-SBMM game modes. Dude, don't act like there's a pro in every game you get put into. The amount of people that have 2+ KD is so little...I have a 1.4 KD and I'm ranked in the top 8% for KD. You would have a 32% chance of going up against someone with my KD...now imagine the chance of going up against someone with 2+ KD.

  • Hey, not a competitive player here, love to play better people to learn how someday, I'll grow up to be like them. All jokes aside, I have only played a few matches of Crucible in my Destiny career, and in the past many of them were, lopsided. Could be pure coincidence to meet fireteams made of 3.0 k/d players, no idea. Getting crushed too often is discouraging, and some of us do not have the hours to practice but still would like to play and have fun, one headshot at a time. Rarely met an elite player who wants to have fun, they are usually serious about the game, some make a living from it... Maybe there are some fun loving pros out there, just never met any.

wow, your knowledge in statitics is amazing, so if flipping a coin is a 50/50 chance, then every second flip I'll always get heads? definitely not. The way you find out is that you multiply the probability of not being matched with someone with a 1.4 (0.92) 11 times ( assuming the twelth guy is yourself) so thats (0.92)^11 = 0.40 = probability you match with 11 other people below 1.4 kd. then you do 1 - 0.4 to get probability that at least one person in your game has a 1.4 so its 60% #StatisticsIsHard

  • I understand probability pretty well but I wrote that last part quickly and only considered the chance of someone being paired with one other person. Yes, you're correct if I was assuming a 6v6 game mode, which is what I should have done. As an engineer, that is an embarrassing aspect to ignore.

  • Actually, having just reviewed probabilities, it's not possible for an outcome's occurrence to exceed 100%. So, going off your previous method, in a team of 14 players (7 on each side), there would be a 112% chance of someone with a 1.4+ KD to be in the game which is not possible. The correct method of finding the probability of someone with a 1.4+ KD in a lobby of 12 would be: 8/100 = 8% of people with 1.4+ KD the power of 12 = the numbers of players in the lobby 1-(1-8/100)^12 = 63% likelihood of someone with a 1.4+ KD being in the game.
