OK so if anyone hasn't noticed gas prices have lowered lately and this has been a result of fracking making us less dependant on foren oil. (Fracking Is a process of getting natural gas and has no negative effect on the environment )
Ethinol as people should know is fuel made from corn and burns just as clean as natural gas so creates less polutents than gas. The process itself though us extremely expensive and creates more polutents then gas does in an engine. Actually the key ingredient is sold to us from those same countries because it is illigal to produce it here. Ethinol is widely hated by consumers because although it's clean burning it's extremely expensive and actually damages engines.
So why are liberals against it? Ethinol is against everything they supposedly stand for but yet they defend it? Fracking is everything they supposedly stand for but they're against it?
Edit:ethinol because of how bad it is has failed many times yet through corporate welfare from corrupt politicians is still being produced
Yes prices on oil have dropped because we're becoming less dependant on foreign oil because of natural gas
(Fracking Is a process of getting natural gas and has no negative effect on the environment )
Disregarding the fact that you have no idea as to why oil prices are falling, this statement right here made you sound like a misinformed dimwit. I'm willing to bet you don't even know what chemicals are used in fracking. Hell, you probably don't even know the process used to extract the gas from the shale rock. Fracking is very harmful to the environment as it pollutes water and can cause small tremors. Some of the chemicals used are know carcinogens and highly toxic. Fracking is detrimental to the environment and you denying that just clues me in to how little of an understanding you have for environmental issues. I can't understand how people can just deny evidence and facts when they're presented to them from multiple sources.

Modificato da Artesians: 1/31/2016 6:17:49 AMLol fracking has no effect on the environment. L o l. By the way, oil prices continue to drop because of the U.S. Shale companies competing with OPEC (Saudi Arabia and friends). Iran joins the fray.

1 RispondiModificato da Bloom Unknown : 1/25/2016 4:55:16 AMThanks for the info on ethanol, I will have to look more into how much producing it pollutes. I've never heard someone bring up ethinol in a political or partisan way, but if it pollutes more than it helps and hurts engines then I don't see why it would be used. I also don't understand why we don't use diesel like Europe has, since diesel cars get much better mileage right off the bat. People are against fracking because they think it damages their local environment. Liberals and conservatives in state and local governments are conflicted with the economic opportunity and the environmental cost of fracking. This is not a partisan issue but a cost/benefit analysis. Also, fracking did not cause gas prices to drop. Price drops are a reflection of an increase in supply, mostly from oil rich countries in the Middle East that are trying to put our oil producers out of business by under cutting their bottom line. Fracking isn't profitable until gas is over at the very least $50/barrel. US Production has slowed because of how much oil countries like Saudi Arabia are putting into the market. This is why the XL Pipeline has been swept under the rug, it's not going to be profitable for another 20 or 30 years most likely.

1 RispondiFor Christ's sake, fracking has nothing to do with lower oil prices at the moment! Is this some sort of joke post?
-
2 Risposte>shows zero understanding of why oil prices are falling
-
5 RisposteActually gas has dropped because Iran is and has been stockpiling oil barrels (because of sanctions placed on them) and they have a surplus of oil to sell. So of course they're low balling (In an effort to bankrupt Saudi Arabia and the UAE- arch enemies) the price of oil per barrel.
-
19 RisposteFracking is an environmental catastrophe, and if we as a country and a planet are serious about managing climate change, we need to stop fracking yesterday. Ethanol is stupid, but Iowa has first in nation status, so just about every politician in the US who wants to be president, whether they're a Democrat or a Republican, has to pander to a bunch of corn farmers if they want to do well in the Iowa primary. It's pretty stupid.
-
5 RisposteThe reason they support ethanol is because it is tied to pork barrel subsidies intended to buy votes. Other reasons (reduce dependence on foreign oil ... Environmental BS) are just excuses. Republicans do the same thing (this is why conservatives also dislike the Republican Party). The reason they oppose fracking is because they want energy costs to rise, pushing various transformations of American society that all coincide with increased urbanization and greater government power. Liberals in New York, DC and similar locations are happy when gas prices are high and bummed when they fall.

4 RisposteModificato da TechyWizard: 1/26/2016 2:36:32 AMFunny how fracking is harmful for the environment, and so is ethanol. Dude, do you put any thought into these threads? 24 RisposteOil is cheap because OPEC is glutting the market. The Saudis don't want to lose market share. Fracking is no longer cost effective. Low oil prices are actually killing our domestic oil production.
-
8 RisposteSo as a conservative libertarian I must correct you. Fracking has nothing to do with the oil prices. Saudis and the Iranians have flooded the market with oil trying to ensure market share and to bankrupt the shale oil mining in the north western states. Someone probably made this point below but at the gym and can't read through it all. This has nothing to do with liberals.
-
2 RisposteYou have to be trolling. Nobody is this stupid. This has to be a troll account.
-
1 RispondiYou know that fracking involves pumping the earth full with gas right? That harms the groundwater which then influences the crops and the rain. So...it does hurt the enviroment. Also Saudi Arabia dropped their prices to ruin Isreal.
-
2 RisposteHow about screw ethanol, and the corn subsidies that are forcing it in our gas, killing our carburetor sand making us drink more oil, and screw fracking that's destabilizing our bedrock, creating sinkholes and earthquakes, and ultimately poisoning water supplies. Both suck. Oil companies suck. End of story.

1 RispondiModificato da SKYTECH24: 1/29/2016 5:26:47 PMFracking has no environmental effect huh What about groundwater contamination And earthquakes And methane contamination http://serc.carleton.edu/NAGTWorkshops/health/case_studies/hydrofracking_w.html Sorry mate but try again fracking is terrible for the environment so liberals are against it for that reason. BTW fracking does not effect oil prices it's natural gas not oil

*sigh* More fail.
