Friend of mine is sort of in a relationship with this girl and I asked him what he was doing for Valentine's Day and told him he should buy her flowers, he said that nobody buys a girl flowers in 9th grade.
Does anyone agree or am I just dumb?
Edit: thank you all for the replies, this thread has basically turned into "flood gives textbook's friend dating advice" lol

1 RispondiBuy the girl flowers dammit

I enjoy sending the occasional bouquet to my long distance girlfriend. I don't tell her so she gets all flustered by the surprise☺️ I probably sound like a hopeless romantic but it makes me happy knowing she gets a smile out of them.

4 RisposteModificato da Yakson5: 1/11/2016 6:23:13 AMOh God... I'm just going to say this, but relationships as an underclassman don't make any sense. This reminds me of when I was in 9th grade and had a "girlfriend".
I'm putting girlfriend in quotes because we never did anything together except go to the movies twice and hangout at school
But, I guess if your friend is in a relationship the flowers thing would make sense. He should probably also get her a card to that says something nice, as well as another small gift to go with it. Thats what I did for this one girl as a Junior, for her birthday. A few weeks later, she told me it was the nicest and most thoughtful thing anyone has EVER done for her.

Don't see why that would be unusual, I recall flowers being one of the most classic Valentine's Day gifts there is.
-
5 RisposteYou can't have a proper relationship until the age of 17 so this is futile.
-
1 RispondiI have seen flowers to stuffed animals twice the girl's size, so you know, whatever fits in your car better.

1 RispondiIf a girl turns her nose because a gentleman buys her flowers, then she's not a girl to be dating.

4 RisposteWhy does it matter, your in 9th grade.

5 RisposteHow long have they been dating?

If nobody does it then do it to be different and stand out.

Most girls will be elated by it. It shows confidence and, no matter how she reacts, she will be flattered, in secret or obviously so. That said, it's also quite the cliche and a basic move.

You'll never get laid pussy

-blam!- just dumb.
-
Depends if he is 40 then it is really wrong :p
-
Just don't give a f uck what people think. If you like/love someone, it doesn't matter, what Grade she is - it's totally allright to get her flowers. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

7 RisposteLol im reading through this thread seeing if i should get my girlfreind flowers

3 RisposteIt would be bold if he got her flowers. Hardly anyone does anything like that anymore. I graduated from high school in 2014 and I literally never once saw anyone do anything like that. I was one of the only people to publicly ask my prom date to prom in a creative and thoughtful way. Everybody is scared to show emotions and how they feel for someone in public. Young people nowadays are so used to conveying everything through texts and social media.
