Proof Destiny is dying: The fan boys are leaving now also
So the Destiny subreddit [url=http://www.reddit.com/r/destinythegame][/url] has long been a bastion of support for the game.
Any negative post was quickly down voted.
But then something amazing happened: gradually it took much less up votes for a post to make the front page.
Now negative threads are commonly on the front page.
Even long time supporters and self acknowledged fan boys are upset, or simply leaving all together. What was once one of the top 20 subreddits now has much, much less activity.
Do something right for a change bungie. You're now alienating the desticles.
[b][u]TL;DR [/u][/b] the community for a game just over 1.25 years old shouldn't be this bitter, but it is, with good reason.
Edit 1:
Bungie claims 25 million "registered users" (whatever that means) but the pvp tracking sites are only reporting 500,000 to 1 million players a day.
Assuming 1 million are on a day, that's still only 4% of the player base bungie claims.
So either bungie is being deceptive with their numbers and what constitutes an actual customer, or the community is clearly dying, seeing as only 4% are still playing.

I'm one of the fanboys, and this game's PvP is so far in the -blam!-ing toilet that I've run out of ways to defend it.

I don't think the game is "dead" or whatever, but the latest decisions and communication from Bungo about no dlc until Destiny 2 had a big impact I think. Destiny is not dead, but it feels like it's going to be surviving (and not expending) until it's successor hits the shelves.

Destiny is suffering from acute lack of content. The fact is many, including me, are taking breaks. However, as soon as they announce some new content, people will be back

There is a limit for how long someone will play The same thing over and over. If bungie seriously are not going to release new content for a year besides events like SLR, Destiny is heading towards death for old players, but new ones will arrive.

It's not dieing it's just sleeping :) I'm playing other games at the moment but will be back once there's something new to do. I'm kinda glad it's hit a slow point. Fallout 4 and Diablo season 5 are gonna take me a month or so.

15 RisposteI have always been a hardcore PVE player. I wanted to max my grimoire so naturally I had to get back into PVP. With that being said, I would rather get pub stomped game after game than deal with laggy "skilled based" matchmaking. Its unreal how broken crucible is.

Not a fanboy but used to defend this game. Especially pvp. But until now, the main problems in pvp has yet been fixed, not even a word from bungie. Lag Matchmaking (ie putting you on games almost done etc.) Red bars Reward to time and effort ratio is not worth the grind.

5 RisposteNot dead or dying. I just checked! Destiny still works and loads normally! I even can find raiders! And pvp is up and running with real people in there playing. They shoot at me so that's how I know they are alive and playing. Hope your not trying to insert your ps4 disc into a xbox that might be your problem! Good luck!

This game does look like its dying but that's what should happen to most games that involve a lot of grinding. Seriously ppl that pay for these games expect to get their money worth most have jobs, school and family/friends. How can gamers expect to play a game that just takes way to much time to invest in? Unless you don't have one of those examples I mentioned above. This is why I believe this game was destined to die out. Bungie f***d up the moment they lied about less grind. I will still be playing in PvP every now and then with the minimum gun options I have due to lots of grinding to obtain certain weapons involved. My thoughts on spending for future DLC's is a hell no. I understand Lvl should be a grind but ...light lvl? Why is light lvl even a different factor. When you are able to make rare drops stronger then legendarys you make it a factor intentionally. Not to mention Bungie has lied so many times to the community. Destiny is dying and for a good reason there are way better FPS games out their with less bull sht.

8 RisposteRegistered accounts and people who play per day are entirely different. The thing is, Destiny is currently in a funk where people are bored again, and this happens with most games. Games become repetitive and not as fun until something new comes around, or a sequel. Is Destiny dying? Absolutely not. Are people taking the down time right now to play other games instead? Yeah. And that's not bad. People are burnt out. Let them have a break. Remember; people CAN play more than one game.
