So the Destiny subreddit has long been a bastion of support for the game.
Any negative post was quickly down voted.
But then something amazing happened: gradually it took much less up votes for a post to make the front page.
Now negative threads are commonly on the front page.
Even long time supporters and self acknowledged fan boys are upset, or simply leaving all together. What was once one of the top 20 subreddits now has much, much less activity.
Do something right for a change bungie. You're now alienating the desticles.
TL;DR the community for a game just over 1.25 years old shouldn't be this bitter, but it is, with good reason.
Edit 1:
Bungie claims 25 million "registered users" (whatever that means) but the pvp tracking sites are only reporting 500,000 to 1 million players a day.
Assuming 1 million are on a day, that's still only 4% of the player base bungie claims.
So either bungie is being deceptive with their numbers and what constitutes an actual customer, or the community is clearly dying, seeing as only 4% are still playing.
Which is it?

4 RisposteOnce Bungie announced no more DLC until Destiny 2, I think a lot of players realized there was just nothing left to look forward to. I know I shelved the disc until the next game comes out. Deus Ex is coming up soon, that will help fill the void...
-
2 RisposteYep, destiny's dying. That's why we're all talking about it.
-
what else?
-
10 RisposteWhat's funny , is that I never played any other game where people cared if a game crashed or made it . It's just odd that people care either way. It's to the point where if you are a naysayer and it doesn't crash, you feel as if you were let down and have to keep telling the rest of us that the end is near. If you want it to truly end for you, just eject the disc or program and stop paying attention to the forums. Your really just adding more stress to your life that you obviously don't need. This is just a game and not a life achievement .

1 RispondiTRAITOR!!!

There are still around a million people playing pvp. That's just for pvp and we haven't had a lot of content releases so of course it's gonna to wind down. Doesn't mean it's dying. Just means that the game is healthy and breathing

As some1 who was hard core from launch. I'm so pleased the game failed in yr 2 to keep me eager to play. It lost the magic with ttk in my opinion and once I was thru the raid I had no real desire to keep going. It started with HOW which was an incredibly weak update overall and ttk although large cuts off most of the activities, then force feeds u new ones which although fun for a while become quickly more boring and repetitive than yr 1 content. They definately lost their way with yr 2. so much so that I don't know if I'm prepared to sink any time at all into destiny 2, I think I'd rather spend time playing many different games and enjoying them all. Such a shame that they didn't self publish or I suspect we would have had much more content from the get go.
-
3 RisposteIt's doing what every game does after the same content has been out for four months. It's in a slowing down phase and will be that way until destiny 2.
-
Who cares.
-
3 RisposteThere is no doubt that if we don't hear of a DLC soon that this game will go by the wayside.
-
OP has no life...prove me wrong.
-
I realy dont get people here. Why someone feels like to prove him/herself that this game is dying. It is just a game. Point. It has pros and cons like a half full glass. Some people obsessed with the empty side, trying to show that this game is dying, while the other some obsessed with the full side, trying to hype and defend it.
-
All console games have a short lifespan. If you want something that lasts long, try some games out on pc. I play the original call of duty on pc and we can still max out a 64 player server(game is nearly 14 years old).
-
It's dying but it's been out for a solid 1.25 years (almost year and a half). And the 4% your basing that on is just pvp. A lot are strictly pve players. Nonetheless, it's dying bc there's no end game content left for most of us. Still a sweet game but put it to the side and play a different game till more content drops

Modificato da timmosupremo: 1/7/2016 2:08:47 PMPvP tracking, so 1 million play the pvp portion, or does it track all activities?
-
I've bitched about this game enough to have been warned several times by the moderators to play nice, but you are pretty stupid.
-
Its sad how desprate you are to prove this game is dying
-
I do love it when people use internet 'forums' to try to prove stats! Most ridiculous assumption ever. The 'community' has always been this bitter. But the rational ones have just got 'heh, I'm bored of this game now, I'll go play something else'. The vitriolic Destiny hater is still hanging around just to prove some kind of childlike 'told you so' mentality. So yeah, those people, have fun with that.
-
Guess you don't visit many gaming forums. People are pissed since day one.
-
1 RispondiThat's not proof And yea saying "fanboys are leaving" is really broad means nothing This pot is pointless and sad
-
The only things dying are my brain cells after listening to bitches like you.If you don't like the game, get lost.
-
14 RisposteThe amount of people complaining in here is the 4 % of the population of destinys player base . The other 96 % are enjoying the game right now and use this for the reason it was created . To find fellow guardians , get more immersed in your destiny and have a way to communicate cross platforms . As well as find friends and teams . Quit being so negative and maybe you'll have a little bit more fun.

Destiny is still one of the best games out there right now. I had a break from July-Sept '15, then another 3-week break when Fallout 4 came out, but am back playing. Yeah year 1 was better, especially the weapons, but it's hard to beat Destiny's game mechanics.
-
I still play. Day 1 player here
-
No I'm still here
-
I'm one of the fanboys, and this game's PvP is so far in the -blam!-ing toilet that I've run out of ways to defend it.
