I would have expected a Healer Class to have been added with The Taken King, most likely candidate would have been the Warlock (in my opinion).
The game has gotten tougher, and I have always liked the idea of a Healing Class for Strikes, Raids and maybe PvP. And I am sure I read this some where else too. Any one else see or even remember this mentioned any where.
I think it would be a great addition, but that is just my opinion. So, who else would like to see this happen...

This thread got far more attention than I thought it could ever. Whilst I was basically thinking out loud, I get where a lot of you are coming from, and I am pleased more like the idea than those that do not. It is my firm belief that the Warlock should be the Healer, it suits the character better than the other classes, it should not be a requirement in Raids, but an added bonus, if however it is deemed too important that it is a requirement then restricting this Class to one and pushing it to two per Raid (One is enough). This Class would be good in some of the harder Strikes, and possibly essential in the Weekly. It would be a Skill from your Class Tree, and it is up to the individual to choose it from a choice of two options, Heal or extra damage, that sort of thing. With again options to increase that power further along the lines in your tree. PvP, it would have to be heavily nerfed for this option, because it would be considered unfair or even unbalancing (although probably no more un balancing than self rez). PvE, this Class is more suited for PvE, such as helping others doing Events, Bounties, Strikes and Raids. Of course I can never see this being implemented, but if it was, this is how I would like to see it done. Unless there is a better idea. Thank you all for contributing.

I do feel like Warlock could have a revive teammate instead of himself perk.
-
Hopefully in destiny 2

1. This is not an mmo 2. This would be rage enducing in pvp (but so fun to play as).

I used to play a game on the PC which had weapons called shield transferences. The healer class would generally have massive shield regen and they would heal team mates by shooting them with a gun that would transfer health from the shooter to the team mate. They could implement something like this, same sort of way as ToM eats your shield but ups your dps. It worked really well, but really simple.

It was added in a way for Hunters under voidwalker Courage of the pack increases recovery on all allies
-
I like this idea. Give some perk changes to defender and they could do it. Sunsinger could as well

Defender
-
It doesn't fit. Take cover and get your life back.
-
7 RisposteSunsingers should auto rez anyone in the vicinity of their super activation.
-
This game doesn't need that. Everyone has recovery. It doesn't take long to get your health back.

Nah we have a recovery Stat and armor/abilities for healing

Healer class would eat up a spot that is better served with someone doing damage. The only place it would be marginally helpful is hard mode where there are no revives. Anywhere else it would really only serve to lengthen battles due to the loss of damage being dealt out. Also it would just be one more requirement to join raid teams and I think there are more than enough requirements as it is.

1 RispondiForget the Healer, we need Bards!

Dont you dare touch my warlock with your healing bs
lol
10 RisposteIf there was a healer class, it would become a raid requirement. Currently, all content can be completed with any arrangement of classes. If you put in a healer, you would end up having raid slots specifically dedicated to them, which could end up excluding people.
-
A healer class wouldn't necessarily help very much. If health didn't regenerate after you take damage maybe a healer class would help. But, since health does regenerate, the only thing that could be helpful would be a way to keep health from dropping, such as a Titan's Ward of Dawn. That's about as close to a healer class needed in destiny, and pretty much a welcome addition to any mission, strike or raid.

2 RisposteModificato da Doctor Electric: 12/30/2015 4:40:27 PMThis game doesn't have a definitive class system, like tanks, dps and healers. If we did, have somethin vaguely like that, then we could. But as of now, we're all just running and gunning everything that doesn't look vaguely human. If I had the option, I'd make Defenders the go to tanks, Sunsingers the healers and everything else the dps.

Health drains to quick in order to even bother and adds don't have enough health to justify needing a healing class. Although if we ended up having more lengthy battles then it would be pretty cool
-
Good idea, but I think sith lightning was too good to pass up for the arc subclass. Solar would conceptually work better for healing, since we associate the sun with life. Voidwalker would make sense from the standpoint that voidwalker is currently useless. As for the concept of healing ... Might work if it is something like a raid aura that buffs healing or gives instant recovery for a period of time - a one-time healing would have low value since you heal within a few seconds anyway.

9 RisposteBecause this isnt an MMO like some people like to say it is.
-
They do, it's called Titan Defender. Blessing of Light
-
Destiny is a shooter game not a MMO RPG.
-
It's an FPS and we all regenerate health, so I don't think it's really needed. There are also defender Titans who protect you as you recover. I think that's plenty.
