Before I start, let me say my Trials main character is my Titan, which I now have a 2.81 K/D, was ranked #90 in Trials Worldwide before this week's map.. I was a strict Hawksaw user prior to the nerf, then adapted back to MIDA and TLW after being restored their Year 1 talents. For special I rock 1000 YD Stare, and my HS accuracy fluxes between 91%-92%.
I feel everything Twilight Gap is do-or-die. You spawn Alpha (outside / A flag side), you're obligated to get a pick and make a move. Once you cross that center line by B Platform and container, it's "hope you kill one or two before being hardscoped, and hope your team presses for clean up before they get revives, 3 up with over shields". You spawn Bravo (inside / C Flag side) you have map control so long as no one dies and you push out towards Center line (contained & B platform by boxes, and stop any progress from center room. Eventually they end up camping in spawn hardscoping and head-glitching big rock after shutting them down from map progression, there's no way to win.
I've had well over a 3.0 K/D on almost every map in Y2, with over 100 games played a weekend and around 800-1K kills a week.
I'm sitting now around 60 games with a 2.2 K/D, this map is pure shit to be frankly honest.
Maybe I'm not playing with the right team, but things turn completely South if one of your teammates die off of spawn. They'll rush the orb, and it's game over from there. No map room to make anything out of any situation. Similar to Timekeeper (but I had over a 3.0 K/D on that one.
Maybe the two different levels of map elevation ruin me, not really sure what it is. Tired of being hardscoped.
Ruin the Primaries, so everybody hardscopes with a sniper.
Curious to see what other's think about the map.

I've always liked Twilight Gap. It's the Mars maps that bother me.
-
This whole post was to boast about meaningless stats
-
It's the same with the Burning Shrine. Lol If anyone went bridge it's whoever gets 1st kill wins
-
2 RisposteI miss burning shrine :(
-
Twilight gap is trash I wish having a 2.2kd was my reason for feeling like this. I wasn't even going to play trials for that reason.
-
Miss the Burning Shrine

Modificato da DMV Knox: 12/28/2015 8:23:40 PMI noticed that also, this is not a snipers map at all, and depending on spawn location, outside always go right inside spawn go right. That's what worked for us. And rush with shotty.
-
It was a mix for me. I used a hung jury and chaperone for most of my runs, and I had an issue with people crowding in the back, but that was my own error. Other than that there were a lot of round wins/losses by flag capture for me on here.
-
This map is perfect for a scout/shotty build... Which hardly anyone users. MIDA will eat snipers alive on this map.
-
It's a CQC map. Snipers with target fixation are easily flanked. I personally like the map. Plenty of ways to avoid long site lines and flank people.
-
Burning shrine best trials map to date.

This map is weird. There are lots of nooks and crannies to hide in, camp in with a shotgun in, pop out of, etc. There are a lot of small rooms where you can just throw a grenade in them and if there is someone in there they will surely get hit. Also, if someone gets resd they will be able to run for cover pretty easily. I guess there's a lot of escapability and alternate routes because every 10 feet there is a place to drop down to, jump up to, turn the corner, hide behind. I feel like all close quarters maps are no good for trials. Shottys are just too easy to use so there is a smaller skill gap if it's a good player with a shotty vs a bad player with a shotty.
-
Agreed, one of the worst trials maps imaginable
-
Really? Most of the matches I played, the team that spawned on A side was the camping side. Usually staying out by the rocks to cover inside at the A spawn. With one guy hopping up to the nest where you can snipe the C heavy spawn to cover that lane.
-
One of the best vanilla destiny maps

Modificato da roman_emp85: 12/28/2015 7:25:32 PMShotgun and Last Word. That's all you need. Hardscoping, camping, will always get you killed. If you can't handle snipers here you won't succeed on the other maps, which are heavier on snipers.
-
5 RisposteNot as crappy as Cathedral of Dusk. Every time I hop on to control or rift, that map always seems to find me. I hate it.
-
I've been using fusion rifles+first curse, seems OK but it's definitely far from my favourite map. I don't play nearly nearly at all as much trials as people like you do however.
-
I had no real problems on either side, just gotta be in the right place at the right time
-
Stopped reading at hardscoped
-
Went flawless yesterday without a sniper. Mida and shotty I always flanked while my two teammates played in sniper area
-
Everyone has that toxic map, the fact that this map has one sniper lane but multiple camping hard scope points, and two elevations for shotgun rushers on cannon side. I understand your frustration, but it maybe that your team just isn't meshing on this map. You need to either down an orb or be the distraction as the sniper on this map. Then have two people hit the other team from the side or coming up from underneath.
-
I actually had a blast on it. One of the few maps I've actually been flawless on :)
-
Well, if you are just an average pvp plauer and you really suck at trials like me, every map is trash.
-
5 RisposteI know your venting your frustration about twilight gap in particular, but you just summed up crucible as a whole. See a blip on the radar? Well, hard scope the corner until they get annoyed and come around it and get a headshot! Skills!
-
I like the map for PVP, except when you run into the red dot laggers who jump all over the map.
