My luckiest moment was when I encrypted a blue engram and it turned into a 1000 yard stare with a good roll on my Hunter. Then I dismantled it because I got Stillpiercer 2 days later.

I'd have to say it was a few months ago. I saved up a bunch of engrams throughout 10-15 heroic strikes and had about 10-15 blue engrams and 2-3 legendary. My blues were all shit except one turned into a legendary artifact and a blue primary rolled a good down and doubt 000 with firefly and outlaw on it. Then I turned in my legendaries. Two of them were basic vanguard gear but the third turned into an exotic. I got suros at 280 I think. Kind of sucked because I had just bought it from the vending machine a few days before.

After the recent update I opened up 6 exotic engram chest pieces hoping to get the new hunter chest piece that arrived, but nah all alpha lupi. Then playing on my warlock, I open up a legendary chest armour just to get the new exotic hunter chest I was looking for !
