Each (almost) map, there is a very obvious advantage and disadvantage depending on where you spawn. It seems to boil down to who gets to the sniping lanes first will most often win. This week, for example, if you spawned on Alpha you had easy street.
How is switching spawns every other or every 2 rounds not a thing yet? Even if the maps were completely 100% balanced, switching sides at least gives people that lose nothing to whine about and would put people on more even footing.
I very rarely play Destiny anymore, but I hopped in ToO this week for bounties and was scratching my head at this.
Yay? Nay?

If you know which side has the advantage then play against it so they have nothing but a good sniper point which is useless if you rush and make them worry. So if you spawn B on frontier go left and push to bridge or even to their spawn and now you have their spawn and advantage because its likely they wont want to try a gun fight. I used this against a streamer and almost pulled the match out if they didnt have supers to get round 5 in their favor.

3 RisposteI think the issue is that spawn points are hard coded to alpha team and bravo team. They probably can't change your spawn in location without changing you from alpha to bravo or bravo to alpha. This would probably mean they can't keep track of round wins because they track then as alpha and bravo. It sounds dumb, but that's most likely what they did and can't figure out how to fix it without redoing the whole crucible.

Because Bungie is -blam!-ing too daft to realize that would be a good thing to add before the mode even came out.
-
Obvious things are not so obvious to bungie.
-
Ikr such an easy thing to implement
-
I wish they would rotate maps. They did it one week and I think that was the best week of trials.

3 RisposteBungie talked about this and showed the data for widows court on either side. Teams on each side basically split as far as winning. I don't think the side actually matters, it's just people that get outmatched and complain. Take Burning Shrine for example. If you spawn inside you'll have difficulty with people head glitching in the sunlight. But the capture point spawns inside. Really it comes down to how you play the side you're on.

1 Rispondiit's too much money to implement and would make no money for bungie/activision

Playing on frontier(The worst trials map now on my list) this should definitely be a thing, I don't snip seriously in destiny or crucible so I run a shotgun, in trials on a sniping map I am always at a disadvantage and rely on my teammates to do long range shooting. The issue i see with frontier is the same issue with pantheon is that the preferred method is to snipe and the standoff zone is very easy to get to for one team than it is for the other

100% agree, every round should switch sides
-
Agreed.

2 Rispostethats actually a good idea
dafuq is that shit doing on the destiny forums?
-
2 RisposteI remember in cauldron, my team discovered that the bravo spawn garunteed defeat if your opponents were even lightly competent
-
1 RispondiI thought that sides did switch? Could have sworn that my team swapped spawns with the other team. Could have been just me though.
-
10 RisposteI have never heard anyone complain because of the side they where on. Till today.
more trials players (exceptional) don't care they just want to kill the others

being able to adapt to the side you are given weather or not it's your bad side or good side is the difference between a mediocre player and an exceptional one
-
I think team spawns should be random.
-
Bump x 1 million. I think about this every single match. Every map definitely has a more beneficial side to it.
-
not a bad idea
-
2 RisposteHow is not rotating maps not a thing ??? They did it once and it was the most fun I've had
-
3 RisposteI can't believe people are complaining about this, if you and your team are good and know what your doing it doesn't matter at all what side you spawn at :)
-
Yea I've always wondered this myself
-
I've wondered that since the day it came out. It should rotate each round.

Been saying this since the first week of trails. It just makes so much more sense.
