Here's The Problem With The MIDA Hype
Everyone is expecting the MIDA to be the new Go-To PvP weapon.
Everyone expects it to be Overpowered, or perform better than most.
However.... It won't.
Here's the interesting thing about the MIDA.
I have been desiring it since Day One and using it since Xûr sold it the Second time.
I have over 22000 kills with this gun.
I almost never again played with another Primary in PvE since I bought it, even during Elemental Burn Nightfalls.
And because of that, I tell you:
[b]The MIDA isn't overpowered, simply because it's the most well-rounded and balanced Exotic in the game.
Both Lore-Wise and in actual Gameplay, the MIDA is a perfectly balanced weapon, and rightfully feels like so.[/b]
The Impact and RoF can be found in pretty much any other Scout Rifle.
The Range is rather okay.
The Stability is tolerable.
The Reload speed is fast.
The Exotic Perk is simple, direct and yet powerful.
There is quite literally [b]Nothing[/b] outstanding about this gun, and that's why it is outstanding.
It's balance is unmatched, and thus, the Player Skill is the deciding factor on wether it will be a Beast or a Dunce.
So before someone calls for a Nerf, know this:
If you got killed by it, there are two reasons:
[b]A) You messed up and deserved it.
B) Your opponent was very skilled and surpassed you.[/b]

Bump. Nice analysis of the perfect Scout Rifle I have always love the MIDA and Now that it is back I am have a lots of fun in PvP again doing anti-sniper wet work for my team.

Mida is balanced always has been but this game is so full of Nerf this Nerf that bandwagon riding kids some way somehow like almost everything else it will be considered op and nerfed along with half the weapons again.

True, though I will disagree that it is like every other legendary scout. It is better than all legendary scouts in every way only because it's perks and hidden perks boost it to that level. It does nothing magical for you though so OP is completely right. You're either good with the gun, or doesn't see what people talk about. Joint fave scout rifle along with Tlaloc and Tread upon stars.

This guy knows what's up. People get rekt with it who know how to take advantage of its abilities. I rektd 5/6 on an opposing team with it on a control match. Lesson learned, most stopped coming my way for a few minutes.

I don't expect any of that. I expect MIDA to be the MIDA. That is to say, it was my first exotic and it's a scout and I like scouts and I'll be using MIDA.

Love mida it was my thorn slayer in y1. Strafe and shoot nothing can touch you :)

2 RisposteWhile I didn't use it much because all of my friends said it was ass... I went flawless three times with it during the last word scout rifle and thorn sniper days. I need to pick it up again, but bones was top priority. I will say that everything you said is 100% unarguably true.

I would say that the reason you get killed alot by Mida right now is because its so hyped and alot of people play with it. If alot of players use a weapon there is a bigger risk that you will be killed by it. Simple as that.

The impact is actually a little on the light side for Scouts. Not that I mind too much as I love the Mida and was sad when it didn't make it through the "Y2 filter".
