Everyone is expecting the MIDA to be the new Go-To PvP weapon.
Everyone expects it to be Overpowered, or perform better than most.
However.... It won't.
Here's the interesting thing about the MIDA.
I have been desiring it since Day One and using it since Xûr sold it the Second time.
I have over 22000 kills with this gun.
I almost never again played with another Primary in PvE since I bought it, even during Elemental Burn Nightfalls.
And because of that, I tell you:
The MIDA isn't overpowered, simply because it's the most well-rounded and balanced Exotic in the game.
Both Lore-Wise and in actual Gameplay, the MIDA is a perfectly balanced weapon, and rightfully feels like so.
The Impact and RoF can be found in pretty much any other Scout Rifle.
The Range is rather okay.
The Stability is tolerable.
The Reload speed is fast.
The Exotic Perk is simple, direct and yet powerful.
There is quite literally Nothing outstanding about this gun, and that's why it is outstanding.
It's balance is unmatched, and thus, the Player Skill is the deciding factor on wether it will be a Beast or a Dunce.
So before someone calls for a Nerf, know this:
If you got killed by it, there are two reasons:
A) You messed up and deserved it.
B) Your opponent was very skilled and surpassed you.

I thought mida was amazing although didn't play with it that much. Unique archetype (rof/impact). Amazing strafing while shooting and great accuracy with high aa.

6 RisposteModificato da MAD X H0USE: 12/11/2015 1:39:31 PMIf you got killed by it, there are two reasons: A) It's OP as F*UCK B) Your opponent is a scrub and needs a crutch. Just kidding. This is the shitstorm that's on it's way though. You see, the Crucible whiners aren't interested in weeding out the weapons that actually have balancing issues. They just see that they were killed by the same few weapons time and time again and simply assume because of its popularity, that it must be OP, otherwise so many people wouldn't be using it. Don't get me wrong, feedback is essential to keeping this ship sailing smoothly, but Bungie devs need to be more selective about which bits of feedback they actually consider. 90% is coming from kids with poor PvP experience upset at the fact that they keep dying. Hence why Snipers are likely coming up next on the chopping block... Anyway. MIDA's cool and all. If you can do well with it, more power to ya. But don't be surprised if you get hosed down by an Arminius-D. ;D Catch ya in the Crucible, Guardian.

Meh, I love scouts and because it's such a balanced weapon I found it to be weaker then I like for my play style. I prefer high risk high reward because I can make my shots count, meaning scouts with higher impact made a bigger difference for me. The Crusader was my go to.
-
It has that mad aim assist
-
Solid post. Inward lamp is a better scout
-
I agree, People that say mida is going to be the new thorn are wrong. Mida is not op, it's balanced.
-
Preach!!!
-
Agreed. However, i really think this gun will significantly change the META especially in TRIALS. The guns high aim assist and high calibure rounds knocks snipers out of their scope more than any other gun. Unless your sniper has unflinching you're going to loose what you used to always win. I am staring down snipers with this gun and winning 9 times out of 10. No other gun will be able to compete with snipers like this gun can.
-
I agree with you on this, this is hands down my favourite weapon so i am so happy to get it again in year 2, i will buy it of the weapons collection when i have enough marks.
-
2 RispostePlayer skill = 90 aim assist
-
Gr8 b8 I r8 0/8
-
And that's the reason I loved it. I got it just before the nerf to thorn and I fell in love. And after the nerf....... Well let's just say I did very well. I don't like wining a gunfight simply because I had a better weapon. I like wining a gunfight because I was better that my opponent
-
yeah its not op unless YOU know how to use it. I personally love the mida
-
Yep. Weapon wise, it's as balanced as it can be. However 90 Aim Assist can do some crazy things in case you didn't know.
-
I agree with you 100%. It is my most favorite weapon. It is a great all around gun, I just wish it had more options to feel more multi tool, like the option to switch out burns or have twice as many options to choose from.

3 RisposteMy issue with the MIDA is it isn't really good when somone is rushing you. Short range. But if I use it medium to long range, why wouldn't I just use a sniper.
-
6 RisposteBoolean Gemini is still the better PvP scout, the problem I have with the Mida is that with its impact, it's like 4-5 precision hits to kill an enemy. With the Boolean Gemini, if aggressive ballistics is equipped, it's a 3 precision shot kill. Not that I hate the Mida, the Boolean's just a better PvP scout. I'm a scout rifle PvP fan, I love those things...

Modificato da TacTheScribbler: 12/11/2015 5:17:49 PMThis a thousand times. You said it. To quote my reply to Daziel's comment below: "I was one of those who used MIDA all the time, especially in Crucible/Iron Banner. Now it's suddenly super popular? What gives? (Honestly I think it had more to do with the botched weapon balance, and the hype over its returning as a Year 2 weapon, than with people actually liking it. MIDA is a weapon that anyone can use, but few can excel with, and as more and more people find that out, the MIDA will go back to its former rarity.)"

Yesterday I tried to decide if I wanted to get MIDA or Dragons Breath....this rocket launcher is one of the greatest things since the GHorn and that is really saying something
-
1 RispondiNo disagreement with your post - But I am perplexed at the sudden attention. Many year 1 players have had MIDA for a long time now and in normal crucible games gun level doesn't matter - so if it is such a game breaker wouldn't there already be a MIDA meta in effect? Other than in Trials, IB and PVE my year 1 MIDA is the same as the year 2 MIDA isnt it?
-
The good thing about Mida is that the new players using it will die and then change guns. They will never use it enough to appreciate it.
-
I love this weapon so much
-
Stop damn complaining. Get the -blam!- over this shit, honestly the forums are just a hate filled out of death and despair.
-
2 RisposteI love the sound it makes when you fire it
