Mom just ripped my destiny disc in half AMA

My dad got destiny for me last Christmas and he died a little over two months ago. My parents were divorced and my mom has always had severe anger issues. I was planning on moving in full time with my dad. But now I live with my mom all the time. I hate my mom. I have an average of a B and she yelled at me about my grades( it's usually higher too I've just been missing lots of school lately). I don't know what to do at this point. EDIT 1: She said she will buy me a new one and apologized but she didn't say when Edit 2 : I'm not getting it back and if I do I'm not allowed to play

Have call me . I'll have her sit on my lap and we can talk about the first think that pops up. Hell maybe she'll even straighten me out.

Step one. Apologize Step two Have her buy you the digital download this time. Step three: watch her rip your console in half. Edit: I'm sorry for your loss. Loosing a parent is rough. I know this from experience. Hang in there.

Respect your mother and give her a break, sometimes they do shit you won't understand and pressurise you, but if you're being honest your mum probably has a lot on her plate, stay off your console and be a son for a bit, help with some jobs, your parents are the biggest friends you will ever have and you'll miss them to death when they're gone, as you probably already know too well.

So many disrespectful little shit in here. Who in the -blam!- would hit their own damn mother for breaking their game? Not you OP, others that are replying. You kids in here have ZERO respect. I know you are kids because any grown adult who was born before the 90's would say the same thing I am saying. No one should lay a hand on their mother no matter how bad you think she is. Me and my mom have had a rough road but not once have I insulted her or lay a hand on her. You kids probably get timeouts while I got the coat hangar, slipper and worse. If it wasn't for your parents, you would not even be here right now. Show some -blam!-ing respect.

              • It's rough man, I had to deal with the same stuff growing up. Parents divorced so dad wasn't around too much. I was only allowed to play video games o the weekends so I was limited from the get go, a shitty idea from a shitty parenting counselor. Mom remarried a douche who happened to be good with computers. Every time I needed to do something they wouldn't even tell me the Internet would just cut out until whatever trivial thing that was need was done right then and there. For the longest time I had no idea what was happening because it was always only my stuff that would disconnect. Eventually I figured out he was just blocking my IP so I would spoof it or use my laptop as a pass through sometimes hotspot my phone. That didn't last long when he just decided to change all the passwords, but I decided fuck it and just let my internet be disconnected for a couple weeks just taking my Xbox to a friends house to play and then coming home. That went on for a few weeks and then it started to escalate into fighting and my mom just let it all happen she didn't want to interfere. They tried to take my car which I bought with my money from my own job by the way it wasn't a handout. Then when that didn't pan out for them they started trying to take parts of my car that they had replaced for me when I was in a tight spot financially (had paid them back already). So I had to start parking my car a few blocks away and hiding it because he threatened to take a crow bar to the hood of my car. He and I would butt heads all the time. He has this mentality that he needs to assert his dominance on the household, which is ridiculous because he is such a tool. This pattern continued for another week or so until a physical fight broke out between us in my room and my GF standing near by had to call the cops to separate us. I ended up moving out and in with my dad now, just a fucked up situation all around. I haven't talked to my step dad since and my mom only when I have to. It's been over a year since I moved out but I don't regret it. Tl:dr you just have to tough it out man, get a job save some money try and move out and get away from the bad environment not much else you can do bro. Try and find a friend maybe and move in together, you can split rent and bills on an apartment. I guarantee your quality of life will drastically increase once you have some independence. Just my story and 2 cents, take it for what it's worth.

Your mom is definitely crazy and if she's not getting herself treatment you need to tell her to or gtfo Flip a sac and get a two bedroom.

                • I had my disk broken by parents twice (bought digital then) , had Xbox charger box thing broken ( fixed myself :)) and the thing is , I do well in school all As except for 2 Bs. Parents are sometimes like that. Sometimes they just hate you or are going through though times ( both my problems ). I just don't know how I stay sane, keep my grades up, and stay positive.

Find friends and fill the void with good people. One day you'll be saying something just like this to another person going through a struggle.

                      • Life can throw these curve balls from time to time guardian. Trick is to play it smart. If you can't stand living with you mum, knuckle down, get your grades and move out with strong foundations. Other wise you could end up in a situation where you can't even afford the electricity to power your Xbox. Good luck out there
