Dude it's all cosmetic from what I see. Haven't played it yet, but it looks like Bungie has been clear that the rewards locked behind the paywall are all cosmetic. Trust me I've kept a close eye on ever verse because as soon as destiny sells power on any level I'm gone and so will a lot of other people. This however is not power, this is cosmetic that can be brought up to end game level. So if you think about it. It's a clever way to sell cosmetic items that can be used as max level without selling max level gear, causing an unfair advantage.

7 RisposteYou know? I see all these post where people are complain about eververse stock being added. Yet I never see any topics about the fact that there are people that will charge around $60 for a flawless ToO passage(and people do pay) It seems to be that whenever there is something that allows Bungie to make some money from Destiny, it's some evil scheme thinking the players are idiots. When there's some MLG that decides to charge for flawless ToO it just gets overlooked I'd say the people with the evil schemes are the MLGs that charge $60 for Trials. They play to make it difficult and frustrating for normal PvP players. This motivates them to resort to other methods(aka rely on MLG time)

It's to earn bonus rewards that aren't even higher light because they say "you can infuse then to become immortalized as w racing champion" ei they'll be low light but you can infuse them to have better light and that you don't have to it just gives you a unique set that's not any different

They then give you the option of a bike with the exact same perks, but has lightning shooting up the sides and a horn from valhalla for $10 and they say, "what?!? It's only cosmetic!" People. Bungie probably thought of it like this; Pay 10$ for a record book, finish it, get rewards. Bungie made the armor set at 3 light so people won't complain It's basically cosmetic. It's like paying 10$ for an emblem, shader, and armor set the only difference is that you're competing challenges. They also made it so you and your friends can compare each other.

If you want to use these rewards with such a low light then you'll have to sacrifice other gear and infuse them into these cosmetic rewards (this is straight from Deej's Post https://www.bungie.net/en/News/News?aid=14096 ). Oh, plus an exclusive emblem and a shader. No one needs to buy the book to earn gear (helmets and Class Items) that can drop post race up to 320 light which, if you don't want to keep them can be used to infuse other gear. Don't know why so many are up in arms over the record book. If you don't want it don't get it as it's not a requirement to play the rest of the game or even to participate in the races.

I read the Bungie post ready to agree with you. But, it looks like everything you buy with silver is, in fact, only cosmetic or "fun." Does not affect your odds of getting gear with light up to 320.
