Yes my point is that they had speed and durability at launch
No my point is not they contributed speed and durability because it didn't. They didn't contribute anything. The difference between them (any sparrow) is arbitrary. Does getting there 1 second faster matter when you're not being timed? No. Does it matter if you're racing someone? Yes.
Same with defense. It's not like mobs can shoot you off your sparrow mid ride. You have to sit there and get shot for a while. So does durability matter in pve? No. Would it matter in sparrow racing? Yes.
Your ship is purely cosmetic and has no stats. Up until ttk class items were cosmetic and had no values. Fotl items were cosmetic and have no values. So if this was new why would sparrows have values BEFORE they implemented it?
If you can't read the signs thats not my fault but don't pretend they're not there

Your whole argument is flawed considering it teeters on the idea that the sparrows stats are arbitruary and do not matter, when in fact they do. Yes you can get shot off your sparrow while riding it (when is runs out of durability) my Tumbler takes less hits than my timebreaker, pesky hobgoblins. People like to get from place to place faster. You want the fastest sparrow? Complete the raid. That stats had to exist because each class of sparrow was different from one one another. Not all has the same speed and durability. The whole argument that if you are not being timed, then speed does matter is irrelevant because then a system like fast travel in Fallout wouldn't exist. There is no timer and you are going to get there anyways right?

Lol whatever man. You can believe what you want. Yes you can get shot off your sparrow. But you can resummon it instantly. It only has a cool down when you get shot by a player weapon. Like if you purposely blow up your sparrow. There are so many other signs. I could point them all out to you but I realize you don't really care about seeing how it COULDN'T POSSIBLY be new. Enjoy sparrow racing for 3 weeks.

Don't give up that easy. I like to be objective. Nothing that I stated was belief, it was fact. But of course if you see it as belief, then that is a different issue. I can be swayed, just not by BS.
Your whole argument is flawed considering it teeters on the idea that the sparrows stats are arbitruary and do not matter, when in fact they do.
Well let's see what you got then
Yes you can get shot off your sparrow while riding it (when is runs out of durability) my Tumbler takes less hits than my timebreaker, pesky hobgoblins.
Yes. But it's not like your tumbler is made of paper either. If you can get shot 500 times before blowing up what difference is it having something with higher defense that allows you to take 501 shots. Nothing. The difference is arbitrary. Doesn't matter In pve, but definitely matters in pvp (sparrow racing)
People like to get from place to place faster. You want the fastest sparrow? Complete the raid.
Have you switched from the time breaker to any other non raid legendary sparrow? The only real difference is the boost. You can't even notice the difference in speed when going somewhere in pve. Why should I complete the raid when any other sparrow is just as good? Again the difference is arbitrary. Doesn't matter In pve, but definitely matters in pvp (sparrow racing)
That stats had to exist because each class of sparrow was different from one one another. Not all has the same speed and durability.
Your ships are different and you don't have stats for those. You keep getting wrapped up that the stats mean something when they don't. Not for what you use them for. If the plan was to use them for something more in the future then that's much more of a reason to put in sparrows that are only slightly better than others in. If it wasn't then why not focus on how it looks (like ships). Doesn't matter in pve, but it would matter in pvp (sparrow racing)
The whole argument that if you are not being timed, then speed does matter is irrelevant because then a system like fast travel in Fallout wouldn't exist. There is no timer and you are going to get there anyways right?
Really? You think fast travel exists for that reason? No. It's because on huge open world games (like fallout), travel time is much longer. Players don't want to ride for an hour just to get to a mission. So they allow them to warp to their point. That has nothing to do with how fast your TRAVEL time is. Honestly destiny should have had way points. But you know why they didn't? The same reason they didn't allow sparrows on the dreadnought. Because you could get there too fast. Cutting the travel time between missions would drastically decrease play time and bungie can't have that. Like I said. There are a million reasons to see that this isn't new. The real problem is you aren't trying to see any of them. I bet you also think it's a coincidence that the they implement this a couple weeks after the refer a friend thing after people found out the refer a friend sparrow is immune to bullets (don't believe me? Look it up on YouTube). Coincidence? Glitch? Maybe. At the same time? Probably not. Enjoy your sparrow racing

Obviously our difference in opinion is whether the stats matter or not. Personally, yes I did use the raid sparrow going from place to place because it was faster. I choose the ship I want because of cosmetic reasons, picking a certain ship over another does not affect your loading times. Maybe we have different experiences and play styles ingame. Of course this isn't new. This could have been developed before TTK as a community request. I doubt something like this got developed in a short period of time. My original rebuttal was that this was not something that "should have" been in the game, as opposed to "wish had" Obviously we have drastically differing opinions and won't see eye to eye. At least it was nice having a civil discussion with someone with out the namecalling, so thanks for that.

Fair enough. I can agree to disagree. And even though this game is rated teen I'm sure we can all talk things out like adults. People just gotta stop getting so defensive and learn to explain what they're saying.
