Here is my two cents on how to balance crucible
The Problem
- When you give every player the option to use a power weapon (any one hit kill) instead of their primary
- make ammo spawn often enough that it's all some people use
- build maps that promote cqc with so many tight corners and hallways
- give players the mobility they have with Titan skating, blink, and shadow step
You've broken the balance of the game. This game has lost whatever "skill required" it had because players can completely void the use of a primary. Not that that's much better because there is no standard shared primary choice for everybody to be on a level playing field, but it still requires an actual gunfight.
Bungie acts as if they don't know how to balance a game but they seem to forget that they created arguably the most balanced and skilled multiplayer on the mlg circuit with halo 2 and 3. 2 Key points:
- Standard weapons could be used by anyone, all with the same time to kill, but built for different ranges. This game required gun skill and smart strafing which you can see a glimpse of when you have two people using the same weapon battling it out in destiny.
- Power weapons were only controlled by one person, not by 8 players, and forced teams to fight for map control to give them an edge
Supers will obviously stay in the game as is as that's what makes destiny what it is. Although I'm a believer that sunbreakers have broken the balance and the team with the most SBs has a significantly higher chance of winning (They could fix that by dropping the damage reduction to 50 % and granting an over shield on the first kill instead of health regen on every kill).
The Solution
Destiny needs a "hardcore" playlist in which specific (balanced) load outs are set or can be chosen from (or the option to make a custom load out from set of standard weapons available to everyone), special and heavy ammo is limited to one crate and the number of people who are in range of it decreases the ammo given (for instance, one person opens special and gets 5 shotgun shells, 5 people open it, they only get two each. The more people that get heavy, the less heavy each person gets), supers can remain as is.
If they committed to this kind of playlist, those who want more gun skill and tactical play could play that, and those who are casual and want to run around playing with shotguns and snipers the whole game can do that in the regular playlists and if you complain about shotguns and snipers then that's your fault, go play the hardcore one. It keeps the try hards from getting infuriated about casuals who can ruin the experience for them by using tactics they deem cheap and unskillful, and gives the two types of players a way to avoid the other and create a better pvp experience for the casuals and try hards in regular crucible.
Trials and iron banner would be the only inconsistency, maybe implement the same hardcore style of play listed above since it's supposed to be the competitive playlists or some kind of mid ground between the two such as any choice in weapon but limited heavy and special spawn like described above.

1 Rispondi100% accurate. There will never be balanced PvP the way Bng set this up. They need predetermined load outs

1 RispondiI'd love to play this way. Call it hardcore or whatever but leave the unbalanced PVP alone so those who love their cheese won't have anything to complain about.
