Warlocks I need some help.
So I main a Hunter and I've been needing a change so I switched to a Warlock. I leveled him up to 40 and I must admit I do love a lot of their abilities and powers but here's my question...
I have no idea which subclass is best at the moment. I'm mostly a PvP player but I do love PVE as well. Sunsinger is king of PVE at the top with the Nightstalker but although I've seen some usefulness with it in the Crucible I've noticed more Voidwalkers and Stormcallers dominating there.
So Voidwalker for excellent neutral game and a super that can one shot just about everything?
Or full on emperor Palpatine mode with impossible machines?
I've been playing with the Stormcaller and tbh I'm not that impressed with it's super. I feel like it should do way more damage than it is and you're very susceptible to death while in the trance. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I think Stormcaller could use a very slight buff.
Voidwalker is pretty sweet and I do have the Obsidian Mind for nova spam. It seems like a strong class for PvP and PVE. But I keep hearing that the Sunsinger has the best neutral game (playing without super) with the absolute best Grenades and Melee in the game.
Help a guardian out, I need to pick one to focus on right now. Appreciate it!
*Edit*
Thank you all so much for the responses =) I really appreciate it!
**Edit** So I've chosen to run my Voidwalker for awhile and man did I make a good choice! I absolutely love the power of the Voidwalker. Currently for PVE I'm enjoying rivaling Nightstalkers for orb making machine lol. Absolutely love the Voidwalker and once that's max I'll play a Sunsinger for awhile as well. Thank you all so much for the amazing feedback! You Guardian's rock =)

I use Sunsinger for PvP and PvE. For PvP I'll use either Fusion Grenades, Radiant Will, and Gift of the Sun. I'll use Radiant Skin if it's not Trials of Osiris. And I'd obviously use Fireborn in Trials. Sometimes I'll use Firebolt Grenades with Touch of Flame and Viking Funeral. And jump is your choice, Flame Shield is the best Melee upgrade in my opinion. The reason I don't use the other subclasses is cause I suck with them. I always somehow hit a wall with my Nova Bomb and Stormtrance with Landfall is the only time I'll get a kill. Yes, I panic with Landfall. For PvE, I use Solar Grenades, Fireborn, Flame Shield, that one upgrade I can't remember the name of (chance to generate orbs when killing an enemy with Scorch), and Gift of the Sun. I'll use Fusion Grenades if I'm doing a Raid.

My favorite voidwalker PvP set up: Max discipline and run full energy drain build. Use Obsidian Mind (bad juju too if you're good with it) then use axion bolts. A grenade hit, melee hit, or nova bomb hit will give you energy drain that will give you back your grenade before the effect is over if you maxed discipline. The bad juju obsidian mind combo will make sure you can take down any super abilities that come your way. Use lance for nova bomb and make sure you can aim it. Wreck face.

Max all 3. Warlocks are a very versatile class and are viable in almost every situation. For pvp I run Stormtrance. Pve I run sunsinger with song of flame.
-
Well... That's the point in balance
-
Well... would you rather have: -Massive burst damage (Voidwalker) -Clutch/support (Sunsinger) -Add control (Stormcaller) I suggest leveling all of them of course, but I main a Sunsinger.
-
Modificato da Darwin4414: 11/24/2015 3:19:03 PMStormcaller was a big disappointment. Sunsinger is still best. I use void walker in crucible though.

I have had 3 warlocks since day 1. *puts on sunglasses with explosions in the background* The best subclass for PvP is stormcaller. Make sure you have ionic blink equipped because blink really saves me. The thing about stormcaller is that you can't just use it whenever you want. You have to use it where there is a good amount of cover or where a lot of enemies go ei. Heavy ammo. I can't tell you how many teams I've wiped out by running to the enemy's heavy ammo before it spawns and absolutely destroy all of them. Plus, you're literally palpatine. I don't like void walker because NB can kill you and the perks aren't that great. It's also easy to miss with NB. Sunsigner is good if you know what you're doing, but can't really do anything against HoS. Stormcaller does not need a buff. It's perfectly fine the way it is. You can take down one in 1 shot. *Cough* unlike another OP subclass that I know *cough* sunbreaker *cough*.
-
What I do for the crucible is use sunsinger with fusion grenades and gift of the sun giving me two of them, all with armor that gives high discipline making me a sticky grenade machine. And because the super is a little lack luster I save it and use tlaloc, so for the whole match, it is buffed by the super

1 RispondiI am a crappy player K/D 0.9 and I do best with Stormcallers because it allows me more group kills and the melee is like a ranged shotgun blast (I have Ahamkara claws for extra melee charge).
-
I love stormcaller. I can take out titan's and their hammers, wreck whole teams and come back for more. You just need to get used to "moving" with it. If you travel in straight lines, you will get killed. I prefer it significantly over hammer of sol.

Here's my rundown for why I choose what I choose on my Warlock main. In PvP, I mainly run Voidwalker for a few reasons: 1. Blink (you know why it's good as a Hunter main.) 2. One and done super. There's not much warning when I'm about to Nova Bomb and you can catch people by surprise with the right perks. 3. Axion Bolt grenades paired with Voidfang Vestments. This grenade almost guarantees damage because it chases like a seeker. People see it coming for them and they run and I've gunned people down because they were trying to run. The Vestments give your grenade another seeker and you spawn with a grenade every time. 4. Life steal melee. If you get a kill with it you get healed. This works better with Claws of Ahamkara but if timed correctly in the right situation you can grab a heal. I do run with Stormcaller sometimes but for me it doesn't have the overall utilities that Voidwalker provides. Stormtrance with the right perks can be deadly and easy to use, especially paired with Impossible Machines, but smart players will stay away once they hear the super activate. Sunsinger I run mostly in PvE but it can shine in elimination for obvious reasons. Solar grenade is very powerful and Fusion Grenade is devastating if you can stick it on some unfortunate person. Lastly, I'm a newer player. There are thousands of people with better stats than me. I focused on PvE with some Crucible mixed in mostly just to have fun with friends. But now I've obtained weapons/gear that are good for the Crucible and I've been playing a lot more especially during this last round of Iron Banner. I tried all the subclasses and found what I was most comfortable with and I listened to advice from friends who have played since year one. Figure out what you like and you won't go wrong!

I now run what I call a "Turbo Tank" Sunsinger in PVP. Check out the build on my Warlock at the moment. The keys to the build are: 1. Radiant Skin (not fireborn) for extra durability while in radiance 2. Radiant Will to extend time in radiance 3. Set your gear to full discipline, 25 second grenade regen. 4. Use Heart of the Praxic Fire exotic chest for even more grenades during radiance 5. Touch of flame (grenades regen fast enough not to need the extra grenade) 6. Flame shield, so when you rush someone in radiance, melee and you're essentially bulletproof, rush, melee, rush melee. Had many 5 kill streaks in radiance this way. 7. Use Arcane Spirit and Divine Order for maxed armor and recovery. Other comments: I haven't actually counted but radiance seems to last forever...and I can probably get 10+ grenades/melees out before time runs out. I also find not using fireborn means I actually USE my super instead of holding it forever. Some will probably elect to go with Viking Funeral over Radiant Will, which has merit, but I prefer the extra time.

I also am a hunter main but I really enjoy playing warlock in PvP. Depending on how you play is how I would build your subclass, personally I really enjoy holding down enemy spawns/controlling areas so I play sunsinger. If you prefer to go for awesome multikills and defend objectives Id say go with voidwalker. Stormcaller is a mix of both so you cant go wrong with that.
-
Go stormcaller with transcendence to dominate in like control or clash but like salvage or skirmish run nova bomb
-
1 RispondiVoid walker for 3v3 modes and storm trance for 6v6 modes.
-
Voidwalker was best in year one but I am sold on Stormcaller now.
-
2 RisposteVoidwalker- good for pvp, mediocre for pve Sunsinger-good for pvp, excellent for pve Stormcaller-great for pvp, good for pve
-
Just waiting for the nothing manacles to come then they'll see, they'll all see
-
Yea voidwalker is the best for pvp to me. Everything about that subclass is pvp type builds.
-
For PvP I prefer voidwalker using voidfang vestments, axion bolt and bloom. You get used to damaging enemies, throwing your grenade and getting delayed kills (and bloom can lead to unexpected multikills). Nova Bomb (split into 3 for Max area damage) for clearing out clusters of enemies on control points or round a rift, or to shut down a sunbreaker or stormcaller. I used to team it with bad juju for max super potential, but recently switched to Nirwen's Mercy (just easier to handle). Melee is mediocre, but I like the rest.

1 RispondiSunsinger = Versatile
-
I'm a stormcaller fan, but the super works best in close quarters, especially when the other team is bunched up so you can chain lightning to several at once. I completed the 10 kill streak step for one of the Iron Banner weeklies in one super. I got lucky and activated it as I entered a room, cleared out pretty much the whole team, then swept through the area where they all ended up respawning.
-
1 RispondiIt just dependd on how you want to play in pvp. If you want to be agresive i think voidwalker is the way to go but if you want to be the fire jesus go for the sinsinger. Two granades+ shield + viking funeral xd. Run raduant skin instead of srlrest in pvp specially this day where everybody is using shotguns.
-
My Voidwalker is my favorite pvp class. The super is handy, but the 'nades and blink are great.
-
Go with the classic, voidwalker, bad juju, fusion rifle, machine gun/sword, obsidion mind, and try to get as much super energy for grenades, kills, revives ect...go with discipline and strength, with high agility, energy drain, and BLOOM... It's a good all purpose build and fun, so much fun, it will do well in this meta...
-
I run voidwalker in pvp. It's fast and has an awesome neutral game. I focus on discipline the most. Other two are not that important. This is my build. Scatter grenade Blink Scatter Surge. Focus on agility and recovery. Annihilate And embrace the void. You will have enough grenades :) Use nothing manacles if you have them
