To Everyone Who Is Thinking of Quitting or Already Quit
Year 1 Destiny was amazing, but Year 2 Destiny was the iceberg that sunk the ship.
If you have finally put this game away, you made the right choice. Destiny is a cancer in the gaming industry. Let me lay down a fact.
The only reason you couldn't put it down was out of fear. [b]You were actually afraid to fall behind[/b]. Over a video game, what should be nothing more than a way to unwind or kick back. Missing a reset startled you, and what of your friends?
Friends in Destiny are paper thin. Quit for two weeks and come back, you'll realize just how thin it all was. Oh, you're in a clan? Cute, how many of those people do you actually play with? How about those clan activities...oh wait...
Quitting Destiny taught me something. Playing other games reminded me of why I love gaming. Because its fun. It's fun to play games without stressing. Without grinding. Without losing out or falling behind by missing a day or two.
Destiny was like that job you hate. You clocked in, started hammering away at your daily tasks. Asked your boss for a raise (Rahool) and got handed a terd and laughed at. Everyday you clock back in, doing the same tasks, going nowhere fast.
Don't be afraid to fall behind everyone, because honestly, who gives a F#$%. Put it down, try a game that won't punish you for taking breaks, not playing daily and missing out on time gated exotics, and won't ruin friendships. Destiny is a game that punishes the players for getting addicted, and Bungie feeds it the fuel weekly with their updates that no one asked for, slowly increasing the cancer in the software.
[b]If you're actually enjoying Destiny, good for you! Gaming is suppose to be fun and we all have different tastes. Majority seems to agree its lost its spark, but do what makes you happy! Game on everyone![/b]

WoW is dying in a similar fashion. But in WoW you can go back 10 years and play through the old content again and there are so many classes and races matter and the lore is so rich and not hidden in the actual game and transmog sets and gold farming and mount hunting and professions and achievements... Destiny all content not in the taken King is irrelevant, 3 character cap, no professions, no amazing quests, no solid currency system, no transmog, no real world auction house, no meaningful rated PVP system (trials is not rated, it's just an arena type mode) Not praising WoW as I quit about 9 months ago due to guild issues and family problems keeping me from playing but it has a lot more going for it

I'm glad at least a small group of people here know that there is no point in playing destiny other than on the weekly reset, if not at all. There are TOO many good games out there to be experience rather than just sitting on this game doing nothing

1 RispondiHoly Friggin Frik man you totally nailed it on the head for me! I had over 3000 hours and 7 characters in this damn game and it turned me into the type of person I hate and ended up hating a ton of people that I met along the way. Glad it is over for me.

5 RisposteI don't know if you're right or not about the "majority" thinking that the game lost its spark, maybe the majority that replied to you in the forums but that may or may not be representative of everyone who plays the game. I personally think that the taken king has been a huge improvement for the game and I've been playing since day 1. The game is very fun for me still, and that's the only reason I play it. I play solely for the enjoyment I get out of the game. However, as you said, everyone's tastes are different. If you, or anyone, doesn't enjoy the game then definitely stop playing and go play something else that you do enjoy because video games are meant to be fun means of entertainment. Also just because you don't enjoy it, don't try to tell other people how they feel, and don't try to claim that anyone is right or wrong for playing or not playing something because, again, everyone's tastes are different so nobody is right or wrong for choosing to play and enjoy any game. If destiny is fun for you, as it is for me, then continue playing if you'd like; if it is not enjoyable for you then play something different that you do enjoy. Also remember that you can play and enjoy multiple games at once, you don't need to play certain games at the expense of others if you enjoy these "other" games as well. I play cod, halo, and destiny because I enjoy all 3. So just have fun playing any and all games you enjoy and allow everyone else to do the same free from judgment. Have a fantastic day.

3 RisposteI'll admit to being surprised when I see people claim you just *have* to do the raids, find the gated items or participate in the Iron Banner. You have to do everything, or else you're not getting the entirety of what you've paid for! At least, this is what some friends of mine are telling me. I disagree, though. I'm not in it for the RNG or the oft-mentioned raid rewards - my schedule forces me to keep to a casual level of involvement. I don't have purples in every slot, my gauntlets are Year One Xur items that actually benefit my Light level, and I don't measure the value of my experience by the number of Exotics I've stashed. Destiny's a shooter, and I make with the shooty bang-bangs because they're a nice way to unwind. I know my limits and stick to them. Tell me I'm missing out and I'll just shrug it off. It's a game - I'll play however it is I like.

There was the initial round of quitting Destiny before The Dark Below. Players were frustrated and confused by the leveling system and about 80% gave up before they collected enough legendaries and or exotics to equip on each slot. Then there were the smaller percent of players who quit because of #forever29. The last year has seen a normal attrition of players but also some new players so matchmaking still works well enough. Now you have the Destiny die-yards quitting. These are the former #forever29s. These are the players who put in the over 3 hours a day on average. These aren't the quitters. And yet they are quitting. They are all Destiny-ed out. This is the final phase before a game dies. That's why the quitting posts are now so meaningful.

5 RispostePlayed BTB on Halo 5 last night and had fun, tried a raid today and kept getting angry. Destiny is RNG to keep you coming back. They know if you actually got the rewards we would have left this crack a long time ago. It is a ploy, and I think after actually smiling while playing Halo last night, hmmm. Destiny sorry but I think it's time we move on, it's not you it's me.

If bungie actually released everything and didn't time gate shit and made 320 light available then I might still be playing. BUT the fact that they time gate to make you play longer or when they want you to is such a cheap trick and people shouldnt stand for this

1 RispondiThis is the second time I will stop playing Destiny. I can't say it's indefinitely, BUT... I hate relying on other people to complete content. Then once you complete it... you're like oh, that's it? It's a great game as far as mechanics and I do enjoy it. However, the entire game is based around collecting gear. Virtual gear that means nothing, heck... They will probably diminish it next year like the year 1 gear. Multi player is pointless. Anyway, fun game but o have had enough.

2 RisposteThere is no falling behind in Destiny. That's dumb if anyone thinks that. Case in point - I played more than my friends - raided three times a week full clears, including hard mode at the end. In walks my brother in law, who raids with me when he can. He gets nearly every drop he needs in 2 raid weekends, and surpassed me by 1 light. This loot system DOES NOT REWARD TIME INVESTMENT. It is designed TO WASTE YOUR TIME. The second I realized that and had 2 AAA titles to play as alternatives from franchises I've long been invested in, I dropped Destiny like a bad habit. I promise you someone is working on a MMO shooter right now that's going to blow us away. Just like WoW did with EQ, someone is going to take this game model and do it the right way. I can't wait for that.

Nice! I will hear less complains while I lfg the raid!!! have fun and maybe you will comeback to actually enjoy the game, don't worry it will be better as there are a lot of people giving constructive feedback :P
