My whole thing is I believe Bungie/Activision are already profiting enough from the original disc and dlc's for these items to come with the game.
Every extra cent you give them is unnecessary because you've already paid enough. They are simply taking advantage because they know they can.

You do realize people have salaries right? Servers cost money to maintain and run. This isn't a pay for it once and it's good game it requires constant work and money put into it lol. Learn how businesses work before opening your mouth.
-
Modificato da SnakePayne86: 10/27/2015 3:35:20 AMDo not other games which are not selling microtransactions have the same overhead? Learn how to critically think before opening your mouth. What was the $40 for the dlc then, is that not enough to keep the servers and employees going ? How are other games doing it?
-
There are also no other console games out there that are the same genre as this (including PC games) that don't have microtransactions.
-
Ridiculous rebuttal. The genre of the game has nothing to do with why they are implementing microtransactions.
-
It actually does because the genre of the game also determines how much time is spent working on the game after launch. MMOs of this style require a lot more time and attention after launch with constant updates and a live team. Other games like FPS do not have these requirements.
-
Because I don't think many folks are going to be interested in a game in which you have to keep buying new dances and mask for it to stay online.
-
Once again not what I said at all lol.
-
What you're basically saying is if you don't buy that silver, Destiny will shut down. Have you thought about what you are saying?
-
That's not what I'm saying at all lol not even close but good try you must be a liberal throwing crap in my mouth like that lol. I told you what it is used for. It's not just going into their pockets and nothing else like you insinuated in your post. The increased money coming in allows them to increase team sizes (which they're doing again and have done) and produce more content. There's a whole trail here not just a few dots for you to find dude open your eyes and learn how a business works lol.
-
The way I see it is that you believe your purchase funds their next game. Do you also pay Toyota in advance for their next Camry? Most likely you don't because nobody does that. What drives competition is them making a quality game first, then we buy it because we find out it's good.
-
Once again changing around what I say to try and further your massively losing argument here. Expansions are not "their next game" I full well know I'll be buying a 60 dollar destiny 2 in September next year. DLC expansions are a totally different ball game and that is exactly what the microtransaction money is going to. And since neither of us can prove the other wrong as none of this has had time to come to fruition yet I guess I'll be replying back to you in a few months when I'm playing my free DLC.
-
Then we will argue whether it was the microtransactions which funded the free game or if it is what I've already stated. That they've already profited enough from our original$140 to give us the free dlc.
-
So the new Batman doesn't?
-
No it doesn't lol. It doesn't handle multiplayer levels and world checkpoints the way destiny does. The amount of online vs local processing in these 2 games aren't even comparable.
-
Sources please lol.
-
Servers are peer to peer, there are no dedicated servers. Dedicated servers is where alot of money is dumped into and for this reason alot of dedicated server games that host a large amount of people have to pay subscription fees This is why wow has subscription fees This is why diablo doesn't
-
That doesn't mean bungie still doesn't have massive database and matchmaking servers moron lol. The entire game isnt run on peer to peer connections lol. Someone has zero knowledge on how the internet works lol.
-
Quick to insult, always the least educated to do so, congratulations. I am saying the servers that bungie uses to host destiny doesn't require in game purchases to be profitable. But now I shall return to my humble moronic cave and leave the internets alone. *insert childish insult here*
-
Never once said it did require that but good try kiddo. Lol.
-
This is what the topic of the forum is about... Just bungievision trying to milk as much money out of the games as they can (and honestly as long as they keep it from actually effecting the game I could careless) My previous statement was made just to clarify that the severs ran on destiny do not require in game purchasing to be profitable as other games do.
-
Bungie has never once confirmed online player base especially to the extend cods and halo do actually showing you online numbers. There are multiple servers running on each patrol map and mission as well that's why you see guardians dissapear when you both enter a new area its loading a new host server. I can guarantee the server network for this game is very complex and massive.
-
Servers are a very very small thing that that money can go to. I also said employee salaries in there but you have no retort to that. Sounds like you're just bored arguing for the sake of arguing when you actually have no idea how much it costs bungie to run servers for this game. And don't pretend like you do either you'll just look like a fool.
-
So hostile, seems like your the bitter one here. Employee salaries? That's your #1 reason here? All servers on any patrol raid strike crucible... anything is hosted by someone in the party. This is why lag screws people up so bad in PvP, this is why pulling the plug on crota worked and this is why your wrong. Justifying in game purchases for bungievision to pay for employee salaries? Dafuq are you smoking kid? Side note battlefield had dedicated servers, and 64 freaking people plays on maps bigger than any one destiny server.
-
Also when you have a live team that grows by a couple hundred people and you're working on upgrading existing technologies there's a lot of money involved there. You kids act like you know how a business is run and its hilarious.
-
How does one assume I am a child? Your not even arguing a counterpoint all you do is insult. Seems your the one with the childish mindset. Unfortunately I do know how corporate businesses run, and let me tell you marketing always lies and twists engineering and R&D results. Same thing here, just replace your engineers and R&D personnel w/ bungie staff Furthermore we are completely off topic now, still have yet to see any proof on the cost of their "massive databases and servers" any online game has "massive databases" and I don't see anyone of them justifying in game purchases to pay overhead costs... Not even bungie lol
