I have been a player since release and spent a majority of my time in the crucible.
Since the release of The Taken King the crucible is just not as fun.
The "Time To Kill" is just extremely fast and the new supers (Titan and Warlock) are terribly OP.
I was never really an amazing player but could hold my own and really enjoyed the PVP experience, especially with friends.
I have a LOT of friends who wont even play crucible anymore except for the daily even though we used to play every day.
It's hard to really sum it up but it just plays different.
I thought the week before TTK dropped it was really great.
Maybe the light levels or the new guns have a role in the imbalances.
Also I have never seen SO many people dropping out of matches.
I think maybe the Quest are a reason for this, if the person isn't going to complete their quest they just bail.
Take it like a man guardians and quit ditching your team.
All in all I am sad I can't enjoy PVP anymore and am starting to not even want to play the game due to how frustrated I get while playing.
Oh, and not to mention the LAG!!!!
Do you feel the same or are you still enjoying the PVP?
Edit: I must add that there are some things I DO like about he new updates as many of you have mentioned.
1. shotgun range is down
2. No more getting sniped by Thorn and Last Word
3. No more blink/shotgun (or not as much)
4. I can use a variety of guns (even though Pulse seems the strongest)
5. I can FINALLY use my Fusion again to counter idiot shotgunners running right at me
6. I oddly enjoy Mayhem rumble

6 RisposteI actually enjoy the Crucible itself, but I'd like to see the old maps cycled in a bit more. Some of the new maps are awesome, but they feel like they were designed for shotguns. You can get some snipes in Frontier and Memento, but the others are all too tight or full of obstructions. I like using Boolean Gemini/MIDA and Long Far Gone/1000 Yard Stare. Its so satisfying to watch enemy shotguns melt under your Fusion Rifle again. Its funny watching shotgunners try to close the gap while I'm charging, instead of switching to their primary. Also, Bungie is getting rid of Shot Package on Tuesday (not just from the perk wheel, but also from existing weapons), so hopefully Crucible will be better after that.
-
I did for a few days, but knowing I'll get nothing or blues 99/100 matches simply makes it not worth the time investment. So, I guess I still like it, but just don't play it since pretty much ANYTHING else will be more rewarding.

I hated PvP before the new patch, and I still hate it now. Wouldn't touch it at all were it not for the Legendary Marks I can get for playing a match, win or lose. Now if they required you to win to receive the marks I wouldn't touch it ever again.

1 RispondiModificato da Trepox: 10/10/2015 3:24:31 AMThe quests and decreased drops have hurt the crucible. Since they have decreased legendary drops in the crucible (I have no idea why) and with all the damn quests only progressing with wins as soon as one side starts to pull ahead the loosing teams just abandons the game. The fire team drops to 2 or 3 people and it cycles through multiple people who spawn in and then leave until the game is over. They need to change the quests to top 3 on team = win and increase weapon drops again.

6 RisposteIf your an "amazing crucible player" learn hit to adapt its not easy but you can do it
-
1 RispondiHow about fixing the absolutely shit matchmaking?
-
I'm usually a PvE guy but I do like to switch it up and play Crucible every now and then. I'm a casual multiplayer gamer though. Usually no Trials.
-
1 RispondiTime to Kill has been reduced since this 2.0 patch. I don't get why you think it's faster. You liked Last Word and Thorn spam?
-
When im not working to finish that basic 12 hour questline yes
-
1 RispondiYou used thorn didn't you
-
I agree that the supers are a bit much now. (yes I main hunter so the -blam!- what). I like how there are options in the playlist like Elimination, regular Control and Clash, the Classics and now Mayhem, which absolutely has a fitting name lol..... I just wish bungie would add a playlist where there are NO supers, NO heavy, even a more limited special. Would been interesting to see how things turn out and how many people would hate it lol.
-
The new supers are a pain to deal with if you're 1v1. All Stormtrance users need to do to kill you is look at you and hold the trigger, but the good thing is that they're not very ranged, and can be shot down quickly if you keep your distance. I've yet to come up with a counter to Hammer of Sol though, apart from running or using your own insta-kill super, there's almost no other way to kill one in a 1v1 situation.
-
I still enjoy it, it has it's ups and downs. Ups, there's not a blink spammer everywhere, barely even see blinkers now (even though I still use blade dancer), we now have hawkmoon, which seems to be great other than the innaccuracy it can have, and I've always wanted te hawkmoon so I'm happy I can finally use it. And I almost forgot to mention the new weekly crucible nightfall rewards, makes the crucible a lot better to play. Downs, the new Titan and warlock super are everywhere and are extremely powerful, new meta made hand cannons inaccurate and pulse rifles amazing.
-
1 RispondiI enjoy playing in the old maps,I don't really like the new ones, stormcaller and hammer of sol are kinda annoying to deal with but I'm trying to work on a counter move, right now I use the run and cry like a bitch one but doesn't seem to be as effective as I expected it to be.

I've been playing PVP solely for the marks since TTK...I just haven't taken the time to find new guns that I love to use yet. That will change with the upcoming Iron Banner.
-
I've played better since the update....KD jumped from under 1 to approaching 2.0 within the updates time (I'm a fairly new player). I'm from COD, Team Fortress, Counter Strike, Halo, Delta Force era so I thrive in fast paced short TTK type games. I acquire targets fast and melt with headshots
-
You do bring up a good point...I haven't noticed it much but it would be a good addition if any crucible quest related steps were only awarded credit upon completion of the matching order to avoid people just dropping out the second their crucible quest was complete... Though as you said this would hurt and infuriate anyone who lags out, which at this point in crucible happens far too often...
-
Lately, I've been enjoying the Crucible more and more. I would much rather play Battlefield or something else than play Destiny's PVP, though.
-
Then again I never enjoyed crucible. Players will find the cheapest or easiest way to kill and everyone of them strives to meet the meta. Makes it so fun when it is all a single gun type winning the game.
-
I used to main the crucible before TTK dropped but I've barely had time to do any with all the new crap we have to do. I need some practice though for iron banner
-
I like it more because now I can freely switch it up instead of sticking with thorn or last word in competitive crucible..but with ib and trials coming I'm feeling a huge infux of pulse rifles aka bad juju red death
-
1 RispondiI like the crucible even more now than pre 2.0. I feel like it's more of a challenge now when you can't run around with TLW and expect to wreck. Now you need to think, you need to know how to pick a gulligt were you are most likely to win. My kd went down from 2.0 to 1.8, but I don't mind. It's way more fun now. I guess I need to adapt a bit more :)

Modificato da ModusVeritas: 10/10/2015 11:30:02 AMactually i was a pvp player but now.... dude... i hate everything about the pvp lol i'm doing my bounties and "see youuuuuuuuuu crucible" :x ! new supers have no room in pvp, warlocks bolts everyone on the map from the op. side (super long range for super dmg, last long), titans are invincible (overshield, HP recover, last 50 years to throw 900000 hammers with explosions) and arrows that supress your super and no way to defend yourself (at least the shittiest super regarding the two others lol). also som weapons are reallly... huh... especially thinking about those "lucky bullets" off the Hawkmoon, lucky ? i don"t think so... every 2 shots = trigger, seriously ?! (i do have it so i'm not talking with no tries, i could 2 shots almost every time). Maps.... OMG supress them all but frontier ! they do suck so hard ! they are just about corridors ! no place to 1v1 with evasion (but o + o from the hunters) so you cannot jump to avoid a nade or shots....)... and lags are even more here than ever ! and for final..... bounties... seriously ?! wtf they changed them ? they are just about "win 1 game", "win 1 game with a fireteam", "win a fireteam as a game" (that one do not exist yet ?!)

8 RisposteYou said the "Time to Kill" is too fast since Taken King been out. We're you here in year one when Thorns and Last Words dominated pvp? No gun will ever have faster Time to Kill then those two guns.
-
Never have and never will enjoy it.
-
1 RispondiI only own this game for pvp.
