Something Bungie might not have considered is that people can abuse this silver micro transaction by saying they will help for silver or if you want to do the raid you gotta pay silver. This happens in games like warframe all the time. Little kids get trolled by a-holes who say yeah gift me x-amount of (plat/silver) and I'll help you do this. Only to be ripped off. With elitists all ready making crazy demands for raid parties I can promise you there will be posts about paying to join teams as soon as this update hits. Even if its just "comsetics" for now, by adding real world currency you are adding a trafficing element to the game...watch
Edit: Im aware there isnt a "trading system in destiny, however adding a real world currency into the game creates a market where people can ask for market place codes to buy the silver etc. This happens in other games. And yes I'm aware people could do that now with cash or paypal but just having a real world currency in the game will likely make it more prevalent. Im simply starting a disscussion about it. You can agree or dissagree. I'm just bringing it up
Edit: im glad so many people are talking about this (even the name callers lol) at least the discussion is happening. Maybe I'm wrong about this, hopefully I am.

I can see a few new people buying ther way to the lighthouse now.
-
Ok dude so if I give u 1000 silver you'll get me 10 and 0 right?
-
Dont raid with elitists then. I wouldnt pay anyone to play Destiny with them.
-
streamers donations will have silver added too. Its easy.
-
That's improbable because silver is tied to your account and there's no ostensible way to tried it. If someone exchanges it through something like PayPal, then what's stopping that from happening now?
-
You are right curse bungie for having them add silver to the game, before they announced this there was no way for people to ask for money/ services for help in completing a task in the game. Under no circumstances were people asking for paypal donation for getting people to the lighthouse or helping someone get flawless raider/ complete the raid hardmode. Those were just a figment of our imagination. Also curse those lfg sites for not allowing us to make our own groups and having to succumb to the demands of these people what an injustice this is. /sarcasm

If this isn't a problem now, Silver won't change anything.
-
1 RispondiThere would most likely be bans for people who request silver for any type of work. Offering silver is one thing, but asking for it for your service is another haha
-
It's far easier to ask for money instead. They don't want emotes, they wnt to make profit.
-
Great idea. Monetization. Don't ya just love free enterprise.
-
Really? PayPal bro really? O.o if you're worried about this then you should be worried about every game with micro... This post gives me a headache.
-
Modificato da Kage Goomba: 10/8/2015 5:36:00 AMBit of a problem with your shit panic fest. Silver can't be traded. - would be too easy to ask for money upfront. This thread is a waste of time.
-
Happened all the time.. Defiance
-
I can't wait to go through all of the effort in forcing people to pay me in silver for my help. It's not like people were already charging people in Twitch every day to be put on a list........... oh wait. they were. they are. they will. go to bed.
-
Shit..
but you can't trade silver
-
10 RisposteI was actually planning on doing this for trials.. By the first day of trials I'll have every emote
-
Didn't think about that about that. Hey if any of you want in? (carried). Give me enough sliver to buy one emote Pre-order starts today
-
2 RisposteIf the a-holes are the ones asking for silver in order to join, what are the people who actually pay called?
-
No kidding huh fml
-
1 RispondiJust don't put in a gifting system and its all good
-
2 RisposteLol.. well i must be in a bubble, cause until now i never would have thought about that.. it is a little dirty but people throw money at the screen now for bungie and twitch. Also by what you wrote it wont be the first stone cast on consoles, and bungie has not said it would result in a ban or anything.
-
people already made their own sites where they're asking hundreds of dollars for taking others through end game content, so I seriously doubt adding a new currency will bring anything new on this front
-
Who in their right mind would wanna sit in a noobie fire team and waste away 14 hours because the other 5 guys can't do anything? You really think that 1 guy is going to make all the difference? Bump if your not one of those sell outs.
-
If it's a case of selling raid slots i.e. carrying you or your character through the raid then there are services out there that do that already. Silver wouldn't change them at all except to make it more complicated to pay.
-
4 RisposteRemember 1600 Microsoft points for 10th lobby on MW2? Lol I got scammed twice.
-
In which case it should be bungie's duty to ban people making posts on lfg which require silver in exchange for help
