Something Bungie might not have considered is that people can abuse this silver micro transaction by saying they will help for silver or if you want to do the raid you gotta pay silver. This happens in games like warframe all the time. Little kids get trolled by a-holes who say yeah gift me x-amount of (plat/silver) and I'll help you do this. Only to be ripped off. With elitists all ready making crazy demands for raid parties I can promise you there will be posts about paying to join teams as soon as this update hits. Even if its just "comsetics" for now, by adding real world currency you are adding a trafficing element to the game...watch
Edit: Im aware there isnt a "trading system in destiny, however adding a real world currency into the game creates a market where people can ask for market place codes to buy the silver etc. This happens in other games. And yes I'm aware people could do that now with cash or paypal but just having a real world currency in the game will likely make it more prevalent. Im simply starting a disscussion about it. You can agree or dissagree. I'm just bringing it up
Edit: im glad so many people are talking about this (even the name callers lol) at least the discussion is happening. Maybe I'm wrong about this, hopefully I am.

Agree... Bump

The internet is a dark place. There will be someone, somewhere who tries this...

1 RispondiThis raid is too easy my team carries two randoms every tuesday and completes it. IMO Crota raid was harder without the cheesing
-
5 RisposteI havent seen that in Warframe, however I could see that becoming a thing in Destiny due to all the retarded requests people on LFG make already
-
Is silver transferable? If so it's the only thing in the game that is. Unlikely they didn't think of that.
-
mainly streamer lol they did the same thing with trials
-
I see what you are saying but imo there will always be people that won't do this. Many people sherpa for free right now and they aren't going to get involved with real world money outside the game since they would either need to gift someone some money over psn or xblive or give them money through pay pal. If bungie added either a gifting system or a trading system this would be a problem but I doubt it
-
One should NEVER, EVER even consider entering such a transaction!!!! That is simply asking for it.
-
If someone gives something with real world value away to get in a raid or trials then i have a lot of trouble feeling sorry for them if they get screwed over.
-
2 RisposteWhatever man. By this logic ms points gold time and any other kind of transaction could already be taking place. This will not be an issue

2 RisposteModificato da Void: 10/8/2015 9:57:51 PMAnd you are affected by this how? People pay with real currency for help all the time. They always have. Elite players charging noobs to get carried in Trials Of Osiris is nothing new and there's nothing wrong with it. Those players will continue to charge real money, not worthless silver that gets you in-game emotes.
-
I see this being more of a thing with trials than raids.
-
2 RisposteLol how would they transfer silver to others?
-
Disagree with this post. If people wanted marketplace codes they'd have been charging already to use the money for other game add-ons etc.
-
They can buy raid , trials , etc... Completions today. Don't need an in-game currency based on real money for that.
-
This has been happening since launch. Have you not seen/heard of the people offering to carry in trials for cash? No doubt the same thing happens with the vanilla raids too. What's the difference?
-
This will happen. People already charge real money for this and Trials runs. It happens with or without the silver.
-
This is not new, even in Destiny. Hard mode Crota is where it started getting noticed. People offering to pay for a run. Trials Of Osiris it became huge and in all honesty I don't see the silver playing a big part in this, and the big reason being run say 5 people through and you're entire crew will have all the emotes. Running for PayPal, Internet banking or for Microsoft points, is a longer term payoff.
-
1 RispondiToo late!!! there is already ppl who offer to carry ppl through Trials for real money so whats the difference?
-
Silver only buys cosmetic stuff so why would anybody care about it that much to require people to do that? Actual money does more than just some in game currency that is useless
-
Well they will probably make it so you can't trade it.
-
Modificato da Lee: 10/8/2015 5:34:54 PMWell -blam!- those people lol. They'll be identified and alienated on the forums. At least I hope so.
-
People can just pay actual money for that. People were paying to get carried to the lighthouse with real money. I don't see how this development changes anything.
-
Silver isn't making anything that doesn't exist. Besides there being no trading system they will have to give them actual money and not silver. ALSO, people have been carrying or cheating people out of money since VOG was released. If you're dumb enough to pay someone that's on you, it's no one else's fault.
-
5 RisposteWhat a pointless post. That's exactly the same as me offering raid spots right now for Xbox live codes etc. Nobody does it now, and nobody will do it for bloody emote currency. What a clown.
-
Why would someone want to get paid in emotes for putting work into something?
