I bought the update. Bungie finally switched to micro transactions and made future updates this year for free. Guess I win. Thank you all for participating in my forum. Trolls... Keep trolling.

You can still play what you purchased. You can have fun in Prison of Elders and Crota. You can be level 34. You bought that so that's what you get. You aren't locked from anything you bought, you are just locked from what you didn't buy.
