I don't know if some people noticed, I don't know if the even care.
What I know is that Bungie and Craptivision screwed us over. At least that's how I feel.
Be warned. This IS going to be a Textwall. Dear user, if you don't want to read this, leave. But you Bungie smarties MUST.
So, a few weeks from the new metagame has passed, to be sure what the hell hey made to the game compared to the original idea (which I liked so far).
I felt terrible after playing so much everything I could.
Here I'll make a list of missing stuff for those who don't have TTK:
- Level Cap: Before the patch, everyone had capped their progress to Level 20. You were still able to rank up your gear and subclasses after that and Bounties still are a great help to keep it up. Gear with Light leveled you up even further, max Light level with expansions I and II was 34.
Right now everyone can at least rank up to 34 by just doing stuff. Right there it sounds cool, but it's not. Now I'll tell you why.
Owners of TTK have their drops evened with their current level. Doesn't matter what kind of gear or which rarity is it. Are you a owner of TTK and are level 30?, every drop is matched to your current status. Of course they have max cap, 40. (Even worse, they can generate Motes of Light by earning any XP after 40).
All other guys who doesn't have TTK suffer, even being 34. Uncommon drops (green gear) never go further 32. Not to mention Rare (blue gear), which are stupidly capped to 26. Your Legendary and Exotic chances are EXTREMELY LOW TO NONE AT ALL.
All this stuff makes your new Light status very low compared to your potential given you are Lvl 34
- Step Quest final tier rewards: This is one of the VERY FEW THINGS GOOD this update ever had. Some rewards actually are Legendary stuff, but it's a goddamned Level 40 item. You just can't use it. I've been awarded with some New Monarchy and Vanguard gear I can't use thanks to this.
- Crota's Bane and Queen's Wrath rep: Before the update, Eris and Petra had Bounties like the Vanguard and Crucible ones. You could rep up by completing those. Of course you needed ownership for The Dark Below and The House of Wolves recpectively for that, but a few could be completed w/o Expansion I or II. NOW, Crota's Bane is strictly tied to TTK activities and there's no way to rank up Queen's Wrath at all after Quest Steps are done.
- Endgame activities: Before the patch, anyone with Level 20 were able to join Daily and Weekly activities, such are Vanguard Strikes or specific Story missions. Even better, you could chosse to join any of these in Heroic mode, which are very difficult but with higher chances for really good gear. Now you must have TTK for that, because you need to be Level 40. Bungie took those from us and gave them as exclusives for TTK owners.
Non TTK users are capped to "Legacy Vanguard Strikes", very low to none Legendary/Exotic drop rates and Heroic mode is missing for ANY AND ALL activities. That includes any Raid you have access.
All this Engame content stuff gives me the next missing stuff.
- Materials and Consumables: I don't really remember how I'd get an Ascendant Shard and some Ascendant Energy. That was with my old Warlock. Sometimes I'd get those by getting Gold Tier in Public Events. Now, Gold tier rewards are merely a very few Motes of Light or Strange Coins barely.
Also, how I'm supposed to get Legendary Marks if I can't do Heroics?. Those Marks are the mere currency for buying Legendary stuff from Tower vendors, given you meet Rank requirements.
Now I can't fully upgrade my few usable Legendaries, like The Stranger's Rifle (14), Murmur (10) or Vestian Dinasty (16) because of the missing content.
- The Crucible: Ohh man, this is one of the worse and sad things I've seen changed. They melted very few game modes, splited into 2 + 1 activities and renamed them as "Classic 6v6", "Classic 3v3" and "Classic Free-for-All". Many game modes are missing and, again, are now exclusives for TTK owners. There are other new game modes of course, but Bungie limited non TTK owners to these Classic game modes.
You think that's all?, no my friend. TTK owners are able to join these Classic game modes, bring their new subclasses (exclusives with TTK) and gear, and kickass so easily. Only other TTK players give them fight.
Even worse, those users tend to bring Blades, which are Heavy Weapons, they block damage of the same type as the blade is and wielders are extremely resilient to damage. Can kill you with a single swing.
- Season Pass content: At first, Expansions I and II were originaly planned and there they are!, The Dark Below and The House of Wolves. Both included in their Season Pass.
These Season Pass are mean't to include any current and future content. Now Bungie/Craptivision asks for even more money to complete your copy of Destiny, $40 is exessive and IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE SEASON PASS, which is a really bad joke for us supporters of the game.
In short I conclude:
Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the Ransomware era.
EDIT: One more thing about the Crucible. It's absolutely lawless thanks to the patch for non TTK owners. It's insultig how TTK players take their exclusive subclasses and gear, having their own exclusive game modes, to Classic playlists. They love to butcher non TTK players with their shiny new stuff non TTK owners can't have.......
I've memorized as many names as possible: Thorn, Last Word, Red Death, Bad Juju, Ice Braker, Felwinter's Lie, Invective.... I don't know how many more I'm missing right now. But the perks they have debalance non TTK gameplay unfairly. We should have the same chances equally for Legendary and Exotics gear drops, starting by normalizing Max Level Cap for all players regardless of expansion ownership. OR, Bungie has to block exclusive subclasses and gear for fair and even matches.

EDIT: So thanks to a Kotaku article we realized how Bungie treated us all along. I wasn't playing this in day one, but I already had my suspicions on cut content. I'm surprised how far this has gone. The Taken King "expansion" was part of the original game, among other content. How come?.

30 RisposteSeriously? Have you never understood the nature of an expansion for an MMO? World of Warcraft, Rift, Everquest, Age of Conan... they ALL do the same thing with expansions. The level cap increases, and so does the minimum requirements for end game activities. They all make your end-game gear completely useless in favor of the newer gear. It has been this way for a VERY long time. If you don't want to pay for the new content, then you are locked out of the new content. Locked out of the old stuff because a new system was implemented? Tough shit, support your game and buy the new content. The way Destiny Year 2 is exactly how almost every other MMO does with all of their big expansions as well. If that wasn't enough for you, think of it this way: Destiny is buy to play (Buy the game, play forever). World of Warcraft is Buy to play, plus a monthly subscription of $15 to log on. WoW offers smaller content patches (on the same scale that Dark Below and House of Wolves was) for free, included with your subscription. Destiny required you to pay for those content updates because it does not have a subscription model. When World of Warcraft launches a full-scale expansion (exactly like what Destiny did with Taken King) you buy the expansion for $40, the level cap increases, your gear is immediatly outdated, and you are unable to enter the new end game content without using the new gear provided in the expansion. Deatiny has done the same exact thing with Taken King; increased level cap, gear is out dated, and you can't enter the end game (King's Fall, Iron Banner, Trials of Osiris) without using the new gear in the expansion. There is absolutely nothing wrong with hiw Bungie has implemented Taken King and the Year 2 updates.

1 RispondiI've been complaining to my friend about the same things. I understand urging people to buy the next pack of DLC, I really do. I'll accept even the price point (even though I don't yet have it) if it turns out it adds as much content as it does. I am a bit irritated by all of the things you mentioned, but it isn't the end of the world for me. But, what I really am upset about is the fact that they are taking content OUT of the game. Like you said, no more Queen's Wrath bounties etc., no way to even regain the quests to redo them. I might understand a state of flux had they been pushing this aggressively as an MMO, but even they themselves are refusing to call it an MMO. But, when you market content, make people pay for that content, and then take it away, THAT is where I see a problem. This isn't "We'll let you do it when you have the DLC and give us your money," this is, "Hey, we are changing the game, some of the content you paid for does not exist or function as it did before." I'm not sure if it falls under 'false advertising' since ads say that it will have x, x, and x. Then we took x away but still have your money... But give us more and you'll get more content... just not the stuff we took away. I've got nothing against Bungie or even Activision. Their purpose is to make money, if we don't like something, we shouldn't buy it, as a consumer. But, that's the thing... if we DO like something, please let us pay for it and keep it working until eventually the servers shut down...

39 RisposteModificato da Wagsman1: 10/7/2015 5:43:23 AMHMMMM - It was called an expansion pass, not a season pass http://bungiestore.com/products/destiny-expansion-pass What's it say down there???? oh yeah
The Destiny Expansion Pass includes Destiny Expansion I: The Dark Below and Destiny Expansion II: House of Wolves.
I'm still not seeing anything about this "future content" you speak of which would include year 2 content... In short I conclude that you are too cheap to pay for things, and expect things to be free.

1 RispondiIm a TTK owner, but i dont know all the no TTK owners has lose... Wow... thats a crap. I want to have more content, but its a holly shit that they capped the others players with such -blam!-ing strategy. Indeed, all must be level 40, after all its not only the level wath you need, its the light level. The Iron banner its coming, and the others players cant be joined. Destiny Players Unite!!!

3 RisposteBumped! I suggest for everyone to keep their voices loud and clear, never to stop. Here is a recent video I found on Youtube, which covers this issue, and the latest one(microtransaction BS) in much better way than I can write in this comment section: https://youtu.be/a6lvDL4cNdM I'm spreading the word, and I suggest everyone should do the same. We did that with the release of TTK, but now things have calmed a bit down, Don't! Do not let BungieVision get away with this!

Many of us has been fighting for the rights of gamers here especially since TTK launched. The problem you will find is many gamers defend these practices and encourage billion dollar corporations to rip off their fellow gamers. The only thing I can tell you is to follow these steps. 1. Contact the retailer you purchased Vanilla Destiny from (and the pre-TTK expansions) and request a refund. Some of us have been successful in getting a refund, but it seems many are from digital copies. 2. File a complaint with FTC. https://www.ftc.gov/faq/consumer-protection/submit-consumer-complaint-ftc 3. File a complaint with BBB. http://www.bbb.org/ 4. Use your Mute button on these forums like there is no tomorrow. There are many people who defend Bungie and Activision shitting on their customers. Save yourself the trouble and use the mute function.

1 RispondiThe only reason I go to the classic playlists is to play with my friends who don't have TTK I feel terrible that I destroyed them all so I just used year one stuff.

It's going to be a week and no response from Bungie.

So far Felwinter's cannot exceed the year 1 cap, nor can Thorn or Icebreaker. Not to mention that Crucible is standardised, so all weapon damage is not boosted or lowered depending on armour and damage ratings. These guns were always going to be a problem. Also, swords block opposite elements, they don't work as well against the same. The only thing you'll need to worry about are the new supers and abilities.
