To the PS4 people on here saying you got a refund for TDB/HOW or the Expansion Pass, apparently Sony doesn't like me.
My little chat with Sony:
You: I can play the main game, but not the Season pass content I purchased.
Leigh: Alright, please allow me a moment to look into this.
You: Thank you
Leigh: Thank you for your patience. Unfortunately, I will not be able to offer a refund for this transactions. Due to the restrictions outlined in the PlayStation Terms of Service an exception cannot be made.
You: You can credit my account then.
You: I understand you have a "do not return" policy on downloaded content. But I also believe this is an exception. I can't play the content at all since The Taken King expansion came out for destiny.
Leigh: Ah, I understand now, my apologies. Unfortunately I am still unable to offer a refund for the Destiny Season Pass due to progress being made on the game.
You: Progress?
You: They updated the game and now 2 expansions I purchased are "retired" that seems like unfair business practices to me
Leigh: I truly apologize for this situation. However, we can not offer a refund for these circumstances. Is there anything else I can assist you with today?
You: So you and Playstation think that I should have to pay another $40 to play content I've already spent a total of $90 on?
You: That's not right
You: I would like to speak to your supervisor, or if one is not available, a phone number where I can reach one
Leigh: I do want to advise you that According to the PlayStation Network User Agreement all sales made on the PlayStation Network are final, however I will transfer you to a supervisor.
Roberto is your new agent for the chat session.
Roberto: Hello, My name is Roberto how may I assist you today?
You: I would like a refund on the Destiny Expansion Pass for PS4
Roberto: I see Jason , so you have the first to expansions for Destiny
You: yes I bought the season pass
Roberto: and you would like to get a refund because you are not able to access some missions because you don't have the taken king DLC?
You: Yes
You: that is correct
Roberto: I'm sorry Jason but Leigh provided you with the correct information. we will not be able to provided you with a refund for this content.
You: Then I would like a credit to my account
You: I deserve something for paying $35 and then having the content taken away before I could finish it
You: With no warning from you or the developer that the content would be retired
Roberto: I'm really sorry Jason but this restrictions are not Set by us, this are requirements set by the developer, and we wont be able to refund/credit this content.
You: I know you're not responsible but I did buy the content from your store with the notion that I would be able to play it at my leisure
Roberto: I'm really sorry Jason, if there something we could do , I'll do it without hesitate, but at this moment we wont be able to fulfill your request, besides this topic do you have any other question you would like to discuss ?
You: So you're not going to offer me a gift card, coupon, discount, nothing? I get nothing for that 35 bucks I spent on your store?
Roberto: no sir, I'm sorry i wont be able to offer you any compensation for game that was design to work that way. before disconnecting this interaction do you have any other question you would like to discuss ?
You: Well it's good to know that the game was designed to steal my money, thank you for that clarification.
You: I'll be sure to copy this and post it on the Bungie and Playstation forums
And there you have it folks, Destiny was designed to steal your money for new content, then "retire" that content requiring you to spend more money.

Once you recieve the content. It's yours. Sony, and Xbox suck with there policy. If you would have cancelled before playing. You would've got a refund. Some of the taken king is worth the 40$. A lot of it isn't. The grind is real, and it's become overwhelming.

1 RispondiModificato da Hero We Need: 10/3/2015 10:55:34 PMBungie has lost a ton of loyal people because of their greed, I wonder if it was worth it for them?
-
This is the problem. Bungievision and Asstivision both want year one to disappear, Including the DLC. They marginalized all of that content as soon as they released TTK. They want every Year one player to be gone as well. That way they can claim TTK as the "real" game and hopefully silence their critics.
-
11 RisposteSince when is game content "retired"?? Seriously is jak and Daxter retired? Ratchet and clank? Black ops 2?? No I can still play those games as much as when they cane out. This is a horrible precedent to make in gaming.
-
1 RispondiThis is where i feel good. I got TTK from the shop and returned it the next day. I saw it sucked and not worth the extreme high pricetag. And as ALL the previous DLC are dead i wasnt going to pay for something they WILL kill off in a few months. And the TTK disk in EXACTLY the same as the original game disc. What a ripoff.

They should at least provide you with some sort of compensation if they can't provide you with a full refund, or any refund at all

Modificato da DAVYERD: 10/4/2015 6:26:18 AMYa, it's -blam!-ing bullshit. I just got internet, spent half the day downloading three different compatibility packs, only to find out that the progress I made earlier when I bought the expansion pass doesn't even matter anymore. Bungie just deleted all story quests once they blew their fat load aka, "The Taken King." I can't play the majority of crucible (even though I suck) or vanguard missions since I don't have The Taken King DLC. This game is a -blam!-ing joke. I refuse to buy anything else from Bungie at this point. Maybe if their marketing wasn't so damn good all of the players who bought this piece of shit would pull their heads out of their asses and realize how screwed they're getting...

1 RispondiMicrosoft did not give me a refund. I also stated much the same things the OP did. All they did was say "I'm sorry" and then gave me Bungie's phone number. Horrible business practices from all involved, even Sony and Microsoft. You would think as a vendor you would want to keep your customers happy. People say not to talk bad about the vendors for the products and that Bungievision is the main culprit here, but if the vendors actually cared about their customers they would listen to the customer and pay attention to any shady practices of the developers they help market games for. I'm seriously considering not re-upping my Gold subscription in light of this.

2 RisposteI literally know three people who bought House of Wolves, specifically for the Trials of Osiris content a MONTH before TTK was released because they had zero way of knowing that it was going to be blocked behind a $40 paywall. Needless to say, the instant that happened they sold their copies back to Gamestop. But they are still out the money that they spent on the DLC since everyone refused to give them a refund for it. Anyone who says this isn't wrong needs to get a wake up call.

8 RisposteModificato da En Excelsis: 10/2/2015 8:51:48 PMBungie's practices are abominable, there is no doubt. But seeking a refund for such a trivial amount of money is probably not worth your time. The current federally regulated minimum wage is $7.25 per hour. That's a hair over 16 hours of work - two days for any normal eight hour workday. I realize that's not factoring in crap like taxes but I'm not going to take this that far. The point is - pick your battles mate. 1 - Bungie is treating their customers very poorly. 2 - It would behoove you not to be one of their customers any longer if you feel slighted. Fighting 3 - Fighting Bungie for any length of time over your losses is time you could be spending earning more money than you lost (since money clearly means so much to you). You'll do a greater good in the long run by just leaving the game altogether than you ever will fighting for a $120 refund. Period. You want to communicate with Bungie - speak their language. Stop giving them your money.
-
Thank you for the information. This post will weigh heavily on future purchases through sony and bungie for me. Your research is appreciated.

2 RisposteBungie and it's actions have become the poster child for bad business practices in the gaming industry. I only hope the other developers have more sense than to steal from their player base and lie to them at every turn.

24 Rispostedude contact BBB.org and file against Activision on grounds of locking you out of content , don't let up and keep arguing with any rep that contacts you. I did this because we all got screwed and we deserve to get something more out of it and I was called about a week later and was given a code for legendary edition ( gave it to a friend that like you was locked out ) I didn't ask for a refund I just wanted them to acknowledge my complaints. hope this helped
-
I didn't even try and get a refund. I played for a bunch of hours so I got my "money's worth" I guess. I just decided not to renew ps+ nor buy TTK. They won't get any more of my money or time. Hard lesson for those of you who aren't familiar with being screwed out of your money but better to learn it now so you'll be able to see the signs clearer in the future. I fell for it as did many others. The game was designed like a slot machine and you see so many defenders because addicts will go out of their way to justify their addictions. Tell me how many times gamblers or addicts will admit they have a problem? They react the same way the fanboys here do. Just look at all the replies and see how similar the reactions are. Enjoy your addiction kids! Thankfully I kicked the habit

1 RispondiI sympathize with you my friend. Unfortunately you can thank the "scammers for this". There where lots of players who got their refund from Sony/Microsoft and just bought TTK with the funds. I read an article a few weeks ago saying that Microsoft and Sony both were done giving refunds because of that. And have since been investigating players for fraud. Now there are indeed lots of other players who are really upset and have no intentions of getting TTK and rightfully want their money back. Now please don't misunderstand me. Even these "so called scammers" who got TTK for free after a refund, totally deserve it. Well played you guys!! But it also cost other folks their refunds as well. You should have tried earlier I suppose. In any case, Bungie and Activision need to figure out a way to separate Y1/Y2 so Y1 players can access all of their play lists. Why they made EVERYTHING TTK was a dumb ass move. Yes the story missions are still there, but there's no excuse for the lvl 20 strikes. Vanilla players are all mostly 32-34 and have no reason to play the list. Nightfall was accessible as long as it was a vanilla strike. Same with heroic story. That's my 2 cents anyway. Hope you get things sorted out.

6 RisposteThis has to be expected by now. Shame on you you fooled me once. Shame on me you fooled me twice.... And a third.... AND A FORTH!
-
5 RisposteIf you go in tower by Warlock trainer all Eris and Queen quest are on Ipad on the wall you can still play them
-
37 Rispostemeanwhile in TTK, we're having a blast. Leave the forums already.
-
4 RisposteYou have played 237 hours. And that is in game time only, idling in orbit and time spent in the tower doesn't count. I wouldn't give you a refund either.
