So 6 noobs went into the raid last night...
Using LFG I found a group of people who, like me, haven't done the raid yet. Full fireteam of raid virgins.
Two guys were on YouTube looking up how to do each section and then explaining it to the group.
Our communication was impeccable. Everyone listened well and added insightful input after each wipe.
5 minutes in it became clear to me why so many people want experienced players only. Even with YouTube vids each section took several tries.
It took 4.5 hours to get to and fight the War Priest. The jumpy ship part took literally an hour and a half to get everyone across.
It was fun though because we didn't have any elitist asshole yelling or kicking people. It was 6 guys with zero experience figuring it out.
Even though we didn't finish, it was one of the highlights of my destiny career.
Edit: so after a day of commenting I'd say it's about 80/20. 80% positive and 20% who think it took us too long or using vids makes us scrubs.
I'm a super casual gamer. I don't have the time required to figure these things out. I really just wanted to pop in, kill a boss, get loot, and bounce.

My friends and I only got to golgoroth last week because we wanted to go into the raid blind and figure it out ourselves. Just getting to that checkpoint took about 4 hours. I would much rather do that and have fun with the raid instead of having my teammates getting pissed off we're not flying through it. The designers didn't make the raid so you could look up every single section, they want you to find it out for yourself and enjoy how much time they put into developing everything from the puzzles, boss mechanics, and overall design. Go play call of duty of you want to keep doing the same thing over and over.

6 Risposteno... how dare you! the only way you can enter the raid for the 1st time is to have full raid gear, all maxed out and have the sleeper simulant AND black spindal equipped at the same time both maxed and have 3 pieces of exotic armor all equipped and must have cleared the raid in full on hard solo blind with 1 hand and a controller that has no batteries. that is the only to enter the raid!!!11!!1!!11! you can't get into the 1st part without doing that askihpioagajswgieha [spoiler]i can only hope that was dripping with enough sarcasm [/spoiler]

That's amazing XD It actually sounds a lot like my first VoG run to be honest. But seriously, what matters is that you had fun, and no-one can take that away from you.

My group went into kings fall completely blind on day 1. We were ahead of gothalion and the worlds first team at one point

It should literally take no more than 2 hours to complete the raid. Unless you're looking for the fragments and getting the chests. But that's ridiculous

That's the point of playing raid early on. You don't get that experience later on..

My friends and I have gone in blind. First night we took 2 hours to get up to and figure out the death singer door. Nailed that first try last night and then spent 4 hours working out war priest. Bring on tonight!! The bastard is going down first try! Most fun I have had in destiny so far Good luck mate

Glad ya had fun, thats what its all about. The cynic in me MUST point out the obvious: You dont have time to figure it out but spent 4.5 hrs getting to fight the warpriest? Also, u didnt figure anything out by watching vids. Not trying to troll... No need for a response, but forum police will (and have) call u out for this stuff every single time.

Good Job Buddy. Me and my friends, we play together, went into raid blind. and spend 8 hours each day for 2 days to finish it. HAHA. Well Golgoroth is a bithc and Daughters are ok. BUT ORYX - THE MOFO TOOK 6 HOURS

1 RispondiGood stuff guardian. My friends and i are in a similar predicament, families and full time jobs. So we started last reset with a goal of trying to get to a checkpoint every evening or two. We didn't finish it but this week should be a relative breeze to get back to where we were and hopefully kill Oryx. Good luck!

You're absolutely not a scrub. You're playing the game as it should be - for fun. You went in and you experienced a new thing fresh, and enjoyed it. I haven't done the new raid yet but when myself and my fireteam look for others to join, we'll look for people like you!
