ONLY 40 FRAGMENTS NEEDED FOR TOUCH OF MALACE (MAYBE LESS)
I just realized this when i went to orbit after searching for the rest of the calcified fragments and saw i had something waiting for me in the tower. it was the next part of the touch of malice quest (kill the enemy in the black garden) i went back to see how much fragments i had and its 41. i was farming since 27 so it could have easily unlocked it at 30 and not known. just a heads up is all :) :)

Yeah that's not the final sub mission of the quest line. You've still got 5 more fragments and another ultra to go before you're done.

Nah the final part won't unlock! I was on the same boat as you in which the other parts of the quest unlocked but the last one hasn't and I'm at 44 calcified fragments

Its 45 because after you collect 45 eris gives you a quest to kill a wizard on phobos after that you recieve the touch of malice

You unlock the undying mind part at 30. You need 45 for the fear's embrace final part.
