Alright, so to start us off I'll share what I've gathered I am not that intelligent or that good of a researcher so please tell me if I'm wrong and let's all try to figure this out. Okay, so the lore and backstory around the SS is heavily Norse mythology a touch of Greek mythology and culture, so here's what I've got. 1. The fusion rifle mission parts DVALIN-RAS8711-FR00X are important to the quest line if anyone doubted that. Reason being that Dvalinn was a dwarf in Norse mythology whose name translates to "the one slumbering" and dvala in Swedish means "Sleep" as in "Sleeper" stimulant. 2. There are theories about the Pocket Infinity being important to this and the description makes that sound reasonable if you don't know the description is "You cannot shake the feeling that this is less a weapon than a doorway" also the fact that Dvalin mission item is the same model as the infinity but they are both weapons made by Rasputin or another warmind so the aesthetics may not be that important. 3. The actual Sleeper Stimulant's description is "Subroutine IKELOS: Status= complete; MIDNIGHT EXIGENT: Status= Still in progress" So 2 things stood out here "IKELOS" and "MIDNIGHT EXIGENT". IKELOS is likely referring to a Greek Oneiroi (Son of Nyx, the primordial goddess of night) named Phobetor. Phobetor specifically was the personification of nightmares, which takes us back to sleep. I'll explain MIDNIGHT EXIGENT later. 4. Back to the Dvalin mission item it's description which is "VOLUSPA subroutine DVALIN FORGE purpose strategic arming of human forces in the face of a CARRHAE WHITE emergency." VOLUSPA is the first poem of the poetic Edda (Which tells the story of creation in Norse mythology) but that's not as important as the reference to CARRHAE WHITE. Carrhae was a city in the Roman Republic and a battle occurred there between the Roman Republic and the Parthian Empire where the Roman Republic was decisively defeated by the Parthian Empire. 5. Now onto ghost fragments starting with Rasputin 4 a few things poked out at me in this one first being Rasputin refers to the guardians simply as "THEM" and speaks of them quite disdainfully and almost seems irritated that he doesn't understand how they use the light. Then he refers to "IT" which I believe may be the awoken because he references "The flower eater" a book about a young priestess but that could be nothing he also calls "IT" "the queen of final shapes" so I'm really not sure on this part. He then says "I see the dead alive (guardians) and there is nothing more stubborn than a corpse. The morality of obedience is more pernicious (big word I know... it means harmful) than any government. For the latter makes use of violence, but the former -- the corruption of will." which makes me think that Rasputin has decided his own will is more important than the loyalty he has serving under mankind so basically he's gone rogue. The last thing and probably most disturbing he says " I do not obey. My will is pure. I will win. The life of people, of entire planets, has no importance in relation to general development (evolution basically). Help me be victorious. Tell me your secret. Tell me how to step." 6. Ghost fragment Rasputin 5 he starts off by saying that the diagnostics he is running is not to be reviewed by anyone human or AI so it starts off already pretty bad he goes on. "Stand by for CRITERIA: Under CARRHAE [WHITE or BLACK] If SECURITY STATE is EGYPTIAN If event rank is TEILHARD (Teilhard was a Jesuit philosopher) : TRAUMATIC CONTEXT or SKYSHOCK: OUTSIDE CONTEXT If VOLUSPA is ACTIVE and in FAILURE SURTR (a Norse jotunn; a race banished from asgard) If YUGA (Yuga is a Hindu epoch that occurs in a four age cycle this is probably what Rasputin is referring to when he speaks of sundown/midnight and in the sleeper stimulant description MIDNIGHT EXIGENT likely meant the pressing end/ coming apocalypse. Unrelated: My guess is the golden age was sunrise) is ACTIVE and in SUNDOWN (the age right before darkness) If AI-COM has granted PERMISSIVE POTENTIATION (Give strength) to outboard resilient instances If a CIVILIZATION KILL EVENT is underway all flexions If tactical morality is built at MIDNIGHT (the final stage of YUGA likely being the fall of the light A.K.A. guardians; also I should say tactical morality being built probably means Rasputin needs to decide to arm/evacuate us to stop the end or just leave us to die) Stand by for DECISION POINT: If available ISR and WARWATCH indicates imminent [O] departure >then [O] departure compromises human/neohuman survival and epoch strategy Stand by for ABHORRENT (disgust) IMPERATIVE:Activate LOKI CROWN Perform deniable authorization: full caedometric (some made up word) and noetic (intelligence) release Prevent [O] departure by any means available" That part sounds like he's going to let humanity die, but. "Stand by for effect assessment criteria: Coerce pseudoaltruistic (persuade selflessness) [O] defensive action. Defer civilization kill. STOP STOP STOP V101NTS923ATS001" This part makes it seem like something in his code won't allow him to let us die. 7. Finally my hypothesis. No grimoire exists for the Black Spindle the exotic version of the black hammer obtained from a daily heroic mission which makes me think we have to regain Rasputin's favor in a daily mission but the Dvalin parts make it seem like there will be more steps maybe the step after getting the three parts is to help Rasputin in a daily and get are fourth part. What do you guys think? What are your theories? After about an hour of research I only found out what seems like back story so Bungie must be trying to make this tough, I enjoy it. It's definitely going to take more than one person to figure this out. We should probably work together. If it's not sleeper it may be something else if anything at all. Just a thought. Edit 5: I've been way too lazy to edit and wanted to just play destiny but yeah I feel once a specific threshold of new information becomes available what I want becomes redundant. So new info lets cover it, biggest new secret found is probably the new room in the dick wall part of the raid.
