The number of players on Destiny is dropping fast...you can go into patrols even the tower and only see 1 guardian in the tower...and for those who dont beleive this...I have play time figures for Destiny for both the months of August and September of 2015...and the number of players who logged substantial playtime...drops off drastically...and this is data from ALL 4 CONSOLES COMBINED...and before anyone says that this is probably some bullshit site...it isnt...and it uses the API code provided by Bungie ever since Halo 3 and Halo: Reach to pull data from the servers
August: http://destinytracker.com/destiny/leaderboards/all/secondsplayed?grouped=true&page=150&month=2015-08-01
September: http://destinytracker.com/destiny/leaderboards/all/secondsplayed?grouped=true&page=150&month=2015-09-01
Both leaderboards start at page 150 and at that point there is a difference between playtimes at these points BY TWO DAYS...which means people played only so much of the game and just up and quit...and the data is relevent due to the fact that the month is 90% over with less than 11 days remaining...
And if you go to page 1 of August some people logged 11 DAYS but at the top of the September the most days logged is 5...
This serves as proof that the player base IS DECLINING GREATLY...by over HALF of its player base...
Edit:
Before I receive any more replys to "Stop bitching" or "Just buy the damn DLC" Let me say this...READ before you WRITE...I havent said anything bad about TTK...I have only said that the player base has declined sharply since its release...I haven't once said that "I hate TTK" because...I already have it...I traded in my old copy for the legendary edition at gamestop and got a refund for my season pass (which was pretty much useless to me) now the ONLY thing I HATE about TTK...is what they did to Mara and Aldrian...and im not going to spoil anything else...but other than that...if you dont agree...Im perfectly fine with it...just dont reply if your going to be hostile...if you do agree...same to you...I am tired of watching a civil war break out in the forums over TTK...really...it gets old...now if you would like to reply...please show a little respect to each other and myself...and I shall return the same respect...and please keep posting replies because the more replies...the more people will see this post...and the more Bungie will see it too...and maybe something will change...and maybe those lost players will come back
Edit:
If someone can show me cold hard proof that the player base is GROWING...and I mean actual 100% OFFICIAL AND EXACT numbers...and or 100% OFFICIAL AND EXACT dollar sales for TTK I will remove this post...but I highly doubt anyone will...so I guess this post is here to stay...and all attempts must have a link as to where you got this information...

I stopped playing Destiny since the TTK came out, and i just literally got on and there is NO ONE I'm all alone in the tower lol
-
I completely stopped playing the game a long time ago. Bungie just didn't deliver the type of game it had the potential to be. Never spending another cent on anything this company develops.
-
I agree and honestly I have many friends that are quiting and I'm following them cause I'm bored with destiny I'm tired of all the same old shit in crucible to much lagg to enjoy the game or simply put people with bad internet, then there's the raiding issue people are always cheating or cheesing raids but more importantly so many year 1 players put months of time into perfecting gear from crota or vault of glass then comes TTK just ruins all the time we put into earning gear that's mainly what I'm hearing about when people say they quit destiny.

I have noticed this to, the number of people playing has dropped off significantly. Tried to play terrible Crucible today (lag is very bad since TTK dropped) and it took 5+ minutes to find 12 players. Even 6 player games are taking 5+ minutes to fill in. The lag is worse now because so many fewer people are playing and that the choices for host are even slimmer than before. Try to do Strikes, both Normal and Hard and you may have to wait 10 minutes before you can find 2 other Guardians to play. In the Tower on Xur day, I doubt there are 10 people on the server this morning (10 am MST). This afternoon, it had dropped even lower. During the day or evening, you are lucky if you can find 4 people on a server when patrolling. That makes doing these Taken events even tougher to do, or nearly impossible when solo.

2 RisposteThe real question is: Why do you care so much? Can you not find people to play with? Trying to prove some kind of cry baby point here? Pretty odd....

I'm enjoying it more then ever.

I habe buyed ttk and was never that long offline then the dlcs comes up. I was online every day. Now just hanging on forums
-
Why oh why is Destiny losing players. OH WAIT I KNOW KAPPAAAAAAAAAAA
-
No its not. There is plenty of people playing the new content.
-
Obviously this won't qualify as an appropriate dataset for a scientific study, but I've personally seen the exact opposite. My friends list had maybe 5-7 people MAX at any given time a month or two ago. Since TTK dropped, I've had to scroll across multiple pages to find the correct person as all the people I hit VOG with are back. Friends who stopped playing a 2-3 weeks into Crota are back.
-
I'll admit I've seen less and less players around.
-
Personally, I haven't been able to get into the game after they CHANGED the hopscotch that I put in so much time and effort to get but didn't touch the messenger because ToO players are more important. Now there's even more time consuming and tedious quests to do. I just feel like Bungie doesn't respect the time we put into the game so why waste my time.

1 RispondiI don't know, a LOT of freinds that I haven't seen play Destiny in forever have been on again. It's hard to tell how it affects the numbers based off of # of players you see in the game because of how the P2P connections work. Entering the Tower and being the only player doesn't mean no one is playing, it just means no one else has joined that session yet. Also, they could've tweaked their hardware to allow more "fresh" Towers or patrols in order to accommodate the huge wave of players being online all at once for the launch. Basically, we won't know until we actually see the numbers. My personal experience says it's gonna show more people played than left.

It would be nice to see some official figures but Bungie would never do that as we might catch them telling use lies in the Media Hype. What Bungie wouldn't do that would they......... sorry I changed into a Desticle for a short while there.

19 RisposteThis data was gained by calculating a percentage of players who have played more than 6.5 hours in the previous month as compared to the current month...so showing the complete math as not to piss off the naysayers You use: #Of Players with more than 6.5 hours (September) ÷ #Of Players with more than 6.5 hours (August) 99,819 ÷ 405,904 = .24652 Which equates to 24.65% Showing a 24.65% INITIAL DECREASE after DAY ONE of The Taken King...Showing Destiny lost almost 1/4th of its player base after the first day the DLC released This does not equate to the TOTAL lost population...but with the initial figure...it can be estimated at or over 50% population loss across ALL CONSOLES
-
Seems correct because i can hardly find anyone to do anything anymore
-
Seems reasonable. I keep getting into solo strikes.

It's been pretty barren out there.... I was noticing less guardians in the tower and on the planets a couple days ago. Typically I'm always running into other players, joining in on farming. But yea! It's been empty feeling..... A lot of players just don't want to redo the story and honestly there wasn't enough "NEW" content. I was pretty disappointed to not have seen at least twice as much as we got. I mean really! How many planets did we get with Vanilla? That was $60.... I'm doing quest and missions in the same locations as we did in all of year one. After making year one obsolete WTF didn't Bungie at least give more with TTK? We get a phucking ship to grind on, I don't get it. Bungie is doing a nose dive into an empty pool...

Yes they are losing players I lost interest form the game my self it's been 5 or months now like this or last week I been trying get hooked cause it was fun. But know... From all the bad choices they have done. I'm not going spend my bit of cash to support the company. Crap. Don't get me wrong I'm the year one guy the screw me over and I bet they screw many more others maybe not you or other's, well I like the game but how there trying to shape it is going go down hill if they don't fix the problem like expanding the destiny world and adding additional content to it for both parties that just have vanilla destiny or destiny DLC's it well benefits the company and fellow gamers out here and there.

Modificato da Mustanger: 9/22/2015 3:47:07 AM*checks calander* looks like September still has 10d left. Plus September is back to school for most people. More School = Less Playtime.
